Jessica Martin is not a nice girl. Hot, popular, and a former cheerleader, she looks down her nose at everyone – especially Manson Reed, the “freak” she used to bully. When Jessica and Manson end up at the same Halloween party, Manson challenges her to a game of Drink or Dare, and Jessica can’t pass up a challenge. As the dares get increasingly sexual and degrading, Jessica is horrified to find … find herself enjoying Manson’s orders a little too much. When cocky Jessica loses the game, she becomes Manson’s slave for the night, and what ensues is a dark game of pleasure and pain, intense fetishes, hard punishments, and Jessica’s realization that she can’t get enough of Manson’s dark cruelty.
This dark erotic novella is written in First Person POV and is about 30k words in length.

This may be my naughtiest review ever all due to the fact I’m craving some punishment… yes, I’ve said that..
This awesomeness of a book was reccomended to me by @elle_love_books and now she’s my new best friend haha.

Yes please! This book is going into my spank bank ,pun intended. This book is kinks and triggers galore!!! Read the trigger warning before you dive in.
I love it!! I was squirming in my seat the whole time.
I normally don’t have limits, yeah in books too , and here, I raised my eyebrows more than I can count.
.
Shockingly, this is a novella, which is a sin in my book. Who writes this phenomenon and leave it as a novella OMG I’m pissed it was so short.
It all started with a dare over a game of beer pong with the former most popular girl and the loner who share a past and now they are colliding like two freight trains.
Jess and Manson ( yes, that’s his name) meet at a Halloween party and after a dare of which Jess becomes Manson’s slave for the night, he decides she needs an attitude adjustment. Yes please! Me too . I was naughty too punish me!!! It involves some hot and kinky sh!t so beware.
’ ’ . , ’ – .
She fights him the whole way and he loves every minute of it. Me too!!!
I so needed that short spanky book I had to wake up my hubby for my own attitude adjustment.

Naughty stars from me
I went into this book mostly blind – not reading many reviews at all, only skimming the blurb, and ignoring the trigger warning at the beginning – and I am ecstatic that I did. There will be triggers for some, so tread carefully if you are a more sensitive reader – but if you are like me, get ready for the most deliciously dark and erotic story. This is a fantastic role reversal of bully/victim revenge (young man is the victim getting his revenge) and I loved how Harley played this out. This was one of the most sexually intense books I have read in awhile and I loved the coming to light/happy for now ending. This author has snagged my attention with Manson and Jess’s tale and I can’t wait to read more of her works.
Holy hotness! I wasn’t sure what to expect. This book was crazy hot. It kept pushing you close to the edge. And then would draw you right back in. I will definitely be reading this again in the future
Wish it was longer, more fleshed out. Definitely intriguing and I liked that consent was emphasized given how very twisted it was.
4.5 stars
First of all, I want to thank the author for listing Clowns in the trigger warning! Never mind about the blood play, knife play or humiliation, that sh!t could traumatize a girl without notice.
Okay, on to the review of the book. If I were to judge a book by the cover, I would have bypassed this one pretty fast. The colors intrigue me, but the image is not something that would make me want to read it. So I suppose it’s a good thing that the blurb completely intrigued me, and that it came with a recommendation.
I have never read a book with this plot. I enjoyed the ‘Drink or Dare’ aspect, as well as the revenge-type subplot. I was drawn in immediately, and loved that the fmc called herself out as being a bully back in high school. It’s rare to see that addressed. The chemistry between Jess and Manson was great, and even though a lot of the ideas listed in the long trigger warning are things that I would avoid or are uncomfortable with, they were all done in a way that could deal with. Yes, even the clowns. If I had any sort of negative about the book, it’s that it was too short. I wanted more!
This was my first encounter with this author, and I was very pleased with both the idea and execution. I am excited to read more by her.
I follow the author on Instagram and she posted some teasers of this novella. They caught my attention and I picked this novella up the moment I got on KU. I enjoyed it! Very kinky and steamy, however, the backstories of the characters were played up enough to make the characters real and not just two people that have intimate relations LOL. It’d be fun to get these two in novel-form!
What a Dare!! Hot and all kinds of kink!!
Oh. My. Gosh.
Harley is to dark erotica, as Stephen King is to horror.
She’s just as talented a writer too. I can’t underline that enough. Writing is hard and she makes it seem effortless as only the very best writers do. She writes with an understated confidence in her ability to tell a story and it feels natural, refreshing and honest. She doesn’t try too hard, there’s no ego here, this is erotic story telling at its finest, and it’s not for feint of heart
I don’t want to write a review filled with spoilers, part of the intensity of this story is not knowing how far Jessica is willing to go, or when/where she might hit her limits and draw the line.
It’s a story about submission, humiliation, denial, degradation, behaviour and domination, and it’s scary, thrilling, dangerous, intensely arousing, surprising, sweet and safe. It manages to be all of these things and in doing so, conveys what it feels to be a sub. You empathise with Jessica and you take the journey with her, not just as an observer, but as a participant.
Each turn and twist in the story is even more exciting than the last and despite the speed at which it progresses, it seems natural and believable.
By the end I was a quivering wreck, desperate for more, cruelly denied but wholly satisfied.
If I’m good, please may I have a sequel? X
