Have you ever had one of those really bad days at work? You know, one where your hot AF boss catches you photocopying your backside in his office? No? Just me then? I blame my bestie and partner in chaos. She challenged me with a not-so-innocent dare that I should’ve flat out declined. But I’m an adrenaline junkie, and now, here I am. I know it sounds crazy, and daredevil tendencies aside, I … and daredevil tendencies aside, I definitely went too far to get his attention.
But you haven’t seen him.
Colton Wolfe. My boss.
Tall, dark, and handsome, with the sexiest British accent I’ve ever heard.
His only flaw? That he’s completely oblivious to what’s been right in front of him all along.
Me.
Well, he was until a few minutes ago.
Remember those good old days?
Before I got caught bare-assed and making nice with the copy machine, and before I was totally getting fired?
But wait. Maybe I’m not.
If I can take on the biggest dare of all.
Making Colton Wolfe fall in love with me.
The Dare is a full-length romance with a HEA and no cliffhanger.

I had a great time reading this fun romcom
The Dare is the story of Elle and Colton. Elle and her best friend Tiffany work at Fox industries where Elle’s Dad is VP.
Elle and Tiff enjoy daring each other into doing fun, adventurous or silly things .
One day Tiff dares Elle to do something naughty in their hot British boss Colton Wolfe’s office. But the dare goes embarrassingly wrong and now Colton is daring Elle to work in a project with him… against Elle’s father.
The Dare by Lauren Landish a five-star read that you will make you want to risk it all. Once again Lauren Landish proves what an amazing writer she is, this is one of those stories that will make you chuckle and make you smile and keep you reading till the very last page. Colton Wolfe, mmm what I would give to be eaten by the big bad Wolfe, or just be served proper English Tea. I adored this story, Elle is a character we could all get behind, one that I feel we all know someone like, but I must admit Tiffany, well she kinda won a place in my heart. I can only hope we get so see more from her again. Thank you again Lauren Landish for keeping the great writing going.
What a fun book! The antics between Elle & Tiffany were hilariously funny, then enters Mr. Big Bad Wolfe & the dares become so much more!! I LOVED all the British slang & the steaminess between Colton & Elle was off the charts. And Nan…now she might be my favorite!
I just wanted to get a play in on the animal idioms’!
My daughter actually dared me to read this book! Dare…Done!
This was one fantastic read that had me laughing out loud throughout the story.
Elle and Colton are really the bees knees!! Between their chemistry, the dares, the BBC, some low angst and family drama – it was the perfect “escape from the real world” read.
Nan…well she just is something else! Totally love her and wish I had her for a grandmother! (at least attitude wise)
This was my first book by this author and I will certainly be adding more to my library!
This was my first Lauren Landish book. The premise sounded good and I figured I would give it a shot. The story starts off well with Elle coming out as a woman who will do just anything if you pose it in the set of a Dare. She and her best friend have rules though. Nothing sexual and nothing that will get them arrested. Enter Colton. Colton is the straight-laced upper management guy that Elle has been drooling over but can’t get the attention of so her friend dares her to go to his office and do something crazy. This leads to a hiked skirt and a copy machine. Copy-ous Interruptus happens when Colton returns too early.
The story was good and the characters interesting. The romance between the two while hot seemed to lack that “something” that gives off sparks. It was almost as if I could see Colton having a fling with Elle but that was it. There is a lot of humor and a good amount of heat.
I may have to try a different story from Ms. Landish as I did like her style of writing even though this one left me a bit.. eh.
I love everything this author writes and this one is no exception! It’s a little different than some of her other books but nonetheless entertaining and fun. Some steam and language permeate, but overall a fun read about two guys vying for the attention of the bosses daughter to get a leg up (no pun intended) in the company. Full of everything you’d want in a romcom, like I mentioned before, super steamy, flirty, funny and just all around a FUN book! Great characters, interesting story, you need to find out about the ‘dare game’…just go ahead and take a chance on this one, you won’t be sorry! I received a complimentary copy of this book and this opinion is mine and given freely.
This was a cute book. I felt that Elle was a bit childish, but it wasn’t a complete drawback for me. The overall story line was solid enough to keep it interesting and Colton and Elle had good heat. Though that felt a little rushed, it was still plausible enough that I wanted to keep reading.
I enjoyed the story and would definitely recommend it.
I dare you. Three little words that Elle has lived her life by, but three little words that change her life.
When her sexy British boss, Colton Wolfe, ignores all of her flirting attempts, Elle’s best friend and co-worker dares her to do something bold and drastic. When the perfect opportunity presents itself, Elle jumps at it, but doesn’t expect to get caught in the act by none other than Colton himself.
At the time, Elle doesn’t know that Colton is her father’s direct competition for a promotion. Both men put her in position to be a pawn for the other. What Colton doesn’t expect to happen, is to find himself falling in love with Elle during the process.
When lines are drawn, does Elle follow her heart or remain loyal to her father. The ultimate dare could cost her everything, is she brave enough to take the leap??
The Dare By Lauren Landish
Elle Stryker and Tiffany Young have been bestfriends since freshman year in college. They were what you could call each others yin and yang and partners in crime. They were inseparable and loved to challenge each other to dares but with rules :
Nothing that could hurt someone, no sex, and nothing really illegal.
Once graduating from college they both started jobs at Fox Industries on the ground floor even though Elle’s father Daniel is one of the VP of the company she chose to earn her spot by her hard work not by her name. Even out of college they continued the their daily dares even at work. That’s when one of Tiffany’s dare got out of control and Elle got caught in all her glory by none other than Colton the guy she has had a crush on for two years.
Colton Wolfe is from London and left his family to prove he can make something of himself without his family’s help. He is also a VP at Fox Industries and has done well for himself. Then an incredible opportunity came up to pitch a second headquarters for Fox Industries to be known as HQ2 and he knew he had a shot but unfortunately Daniel Stryker was in the running for the as well. Then he discovers a surprised Elle in a compromising position in his office and make her and offer she can’t refuse. She is torn between being loyal to her father and proving that she can be a important asset to the project.
I loved the back and forth hilarious banter between Colton and Elle it was fun, flirty and sexy. Elle and her friend Tiff were dare junkies they received a rush from each one. Colton was all work and no play until Elle then she introduces him to her game of dare and then the fun really begins.
I loved when she tells Colton her motto and tells him to :
Repeat after me . . . YOLO.”
And then he asks what does “Yoe-loe” mean?
“You Only Live Once. It’s basically my motto. Live big, live loud, and with no regrets. Or at least if you have regrets, make it for things you’ve done, not for things you didn’t have the balls to do.”
I loved this book and wow the secondary characters especially Tiffany and Nan they were a HOOT!
FIVE
The Dare
By: Lauren Landish
Narrated by: Shane East, Carly Robins
Perfect way to start my week, Lauren Landish had me laughing out loud with The Dare! Tiffany and Elle are best friends and to keep thing fun and exciting, play a game daring each other to do things out of their comfort zone. There are boundaries, but when Tiffany dares Elle to get seen by her boss, Colton, she takes it on. And what happens next is something she doesn’t expect. Colton is a workaholic, so when he finds Elle in his office, it’s a great new distraction. When she ends up working for him, it’s in direct competition with her father. Will she be loyal to her boss or report back to her dad? Will their relationship work outside the office or is it just a fling? And what will happen when they go to England together? I loved all the characters, right down to Colton’s mom. The dares become part of the flirty package of Colton and Elle, and it’s both funny, and endearing as they come up with the next one! It’s fast paced, hysterically funny and a blast to listen to. Landish has a flare for writing such great entertainment. It’s smart, steamy and so much fun, the time flew by! Keep them coming, I dare Lauren to give us more!
This narration team of Shane East and Carly Robins is amazing. Comedic timing is spot on, the chemistry amazing. They flow from point of views with ease and give us hours of enjoyment. I loved them together!

5 stars for The Dare by Lauren Landish. Holy cow this book had me laughing so hard I had tears running down my face. I want to be friends with Elle and Tiffany. I want in on their game of Dare. Ok now on to the review. Elle is an employee of Fox industries where her dad is the VP. Colton also works there and is Elle’s boss’s boss. Elle has noticed him multiple times and finds him attractive. Tiffany has dared Elle multiple times to try and get Colton’s attention , but unfortunately it fails every time. Elle’s dad Colton are going against each other for the President of Fox HQ2. Elle is dared to do something drastic to get his attention and this has to work, the only question is how will Colton take it? “You only live once. Its basically my motto. Live big, live loud, and with no regrets, or at least if you have regrets, make it for things you’ve done, not for things you didn’t have the balls to do.” This book is another fantastic rom-com from Lauren LAndish. It was filled with laughs and some steamy scenes. Another great hit.
I just couldn’t get interested. Disappointing as I have enjoyed reading this author’s books in the past. The female lead is extremely immature and I never got caught up in the attraction and pull between the characters.
MORAL: DON’T LET YOUR BESTIE PACK YOUR BAGS
I enjoyed this book so much…It was fun, hot and entertaining….THE DARE was based on a good premise, and one I don’t think I’ve ever read before….Plus, Lauren Landish gave us some really funny moments…one of my favorites takes place with Colton and Elle in airport security…..I couldn’t not mention it…..it deserves to be singled out…And I promise it will make you laugh too…
Colton is a wealthy, hot, ambitious, no-nonsense Brit, and he’s Elle’s boss at the company where, both, her father and best friend also work….Colton is all business all the time….until he meets beautiful, smart, “ball busting”, daredevil Elle, and, he immediately, becomes enchanted with Elle and her “dare game”…
Elle and her best friend, Tiffany, have been playing the “dare game” for years in an attempt to take risks and stand outside of their comfort zones, and, truthfully, these two could be dangerous if left alone too long…They are thrill seeking, adrenaline junkies, and it was a dare during which Elle met Colton…in his office…beside the copier…it was priceless…..
All through the book, the dare game had first Elle and Tiffany and then Elle and Colton daring each other to do what they really wanted the other person to do…without, actually, asking the person to do it…Got it??
So, Colton decides to transfer Elle to the position of his assistant while he works on a career and life changing project which will yield a potential promotion …two reasons..(1)Elle’s dad is Colton’s only competition in this promotion, and, hopefully, knowing Elle works for his competition, will throw her dad off his game and (2)Colton likes Elle, and she intrigues him….He’s, obviously, hot for her and no one believes he’s going to let her go when the project is complete…
I really liked this book….the characters are strong, their chemistry is strong, and I loved their story…Plus, the peripheral characters, specifically, Frank and Tiffany are interesting enough I want their story…and, yes I like the idea of them in the same story…so many problems to overcome….I hope Lauren Landish writes their story next….
Elle is a wild and chaotic force of nature. Colton has a plan for the next step in his career. I really love Colton’s British terminology There are some very funny moments in this book. Elle lives a little dangerously, and at first I felt like she was immature until I realized it was actually a form of rebellion. I ended up liking her a lot. This was a very enjoyable book that offers a good reminder to live completely in every moment.
“The Dare” was one of those books that had so many great characters. Colton (hot handsome British hero; also know as BBC) was a great book boyfriend and Elle, I want to be best friends with her and her BFF; Tiffany. The side characters are interesting and the story is fun and romantic. Elle is a smart, fun daredevil wild, but loyal friend, just what uptight, handsome British Colton needs to light up his life, from growing up in a privileged, unhappy family. Ms. Landish did an amazing job on writing this book. I fell in love with everyone including Elle’s single Dad (Daniel), though I would have to fight Elle’s best friend for his heart, LOL.
Awesome, funny, loved it
What a fun read with lots of “daring” going on.
Elle and her best friend Tiffany have been daring each other to do things for years. Nothing that will cause anyone any harm or do anything illegal and definitely nothing of a sexual nature so when Tiff dares Elle to make her mark on the big boss upstairs she comes up with a genius way to do it, that is until she gets caught.
Colton is from England and he is determined to make his mark in the US and prove his family wrong. He is no nonsense, all business so when the beautiful woman from downstairs is in his office in a compromising position and there are pages and pages being printed on his machine he comes up with a plan to not only amuse himself but to push his career forward in the process.
Great story with lots of humor and romance and great characters. I loved reading this book.
I received an early copy to read and review with my honest opinion. I highly recommend this book.
The most fun book I have read in a long time! I loved it! The bantering and chemistry unbelievably good and intense! A definite must read! I absolutely love Elle & Colton. They captured my attention and heart! Never a dull moment with these two! I am voluntarily leaving my review after reading an advance reader copy from the author.
Lauren Landish has done it yet again. I love this author, like truly adore her, and her writing. From her Bennett Brother series to this, I love it all. I have read a lot of her work and can’t wait to keep diving into my TBR to read even more.
The Dare is a standalone Romantic Comedy that literally had me laughing out loud, smiling like a loon, and wishing I could be right there in the book with them. Elle is everything I love about a heroine and more. She isn’t afraid to use her brain but often gets looked at and passed over because of her looks. And then there is Colton. That bad boy makes me SWOON, it’s that British accent y’all!
Since this is a new release, I won’t give anything away. You know how it goes. But as always Lauren delivers in the way only she can. From start to finish, you’re engrossed in this story, wanting everything to come out the way it’s supposed to because you just can’t handle it if it doesn’t.
Colton and Elle are seriously the best, and their attraction is more than just sparks, its enough to light any firework display… whether its 4th of July or New Years. These two will have you weak in the knees. They are everything.
Five beautiful stars for a steamy romantic comedy that had me laughing and smiling the whole way through.
Oh so sweet. Secret crush, forbidden office romance. Just a perfectly wonderful, angst free, sexy romance. I loved best friends Elle and Tiffany and their dare devil antics. Then we have the sexily debonair Colton Wolfe, who has a one track mind – work. All he wants is to succeed and prove his family wrong. He’s never noticed what’s right in front of him (literally, she’s been throwing herself at his feet for what seems like forever). Then Elle enters his world, and everything suddenly seems to looks brighter. Funny, sweet and addictive. I was on tender hooks wondering what would come next. An entertaining story, wonderful characters (I’m sure we’d all love a nan like Colton’s), wonderfully written, Lauren aways seems to work magic between the pages.
