Have you ever had one of those really bad days at work? You know, one where your hot AF boss catches you photocopying your backside in his office? No? Just me then? I blame my bestie and partner in chaos. She challenged me with a not-so-innocent dare that I should’ve flat out declined. But I’m an adrenaline junkie, and now, here I am. I know it sounds crazy, and daredevil tendencies aside, I … and daredevil tendencies aside, I definitely went too far to get his attention.
But you haven’t seen him.
Colton Wolfe. My boss.
Tall, dark, and handsome, with the sexiest British accent I’ve ever heard.
His only flaw? That he’s completely oblivious to what’s been right in front of him all along.
Me.
Well, he was until a few minutes ago.
Remember those good old days?
Before I got caught bare-assed and making nice with the copy machine, and before I was totally getting fired?
But wait. Maybe I’m not.
If I can take on the biggest dare of all.
Making Colton Wolfe fall in love with me.
The Dare is a full-length romance with a HEA and no cliffhanger.

5 fantastical stars for the funniest book I’ve read in a long time and not to mention from one of my favorite authors who can never write a bad story. This book had me laughing throughout the whole book if it wasn’t the commentary between the best friends it was the dares just too funny. I absolutely fell in love with Elle and Colton and the best friend Tiffany and her drooling for Elle’s daddy and the best friend code of no dating daddy.
This is absolutely a must read and one you need to one click.
This book is a riot and then some! One breathtaking dare from her bestie sets Elle on a collision course with the take-charge Colton Wolfe and love. This boss man is full steely alpha. The banter is off the scale. The chemistry, pure lightning. Lauren Landish will make you laugh yourself to pieces and glue you back together again with the swooniest feels. They’re all here! Don’t miss this five-star rom-com while it’s Free in Kindle Unlimited.
DNF 30%. Elle & pal Tiffany are fun & sexy, BUT Colton is only about dominant sex, AND sex parts are irritating, & get in the way of what would be a fun little story. And the whole him being the boss while ordering her to go out with him. Just got tired of reading it.
Funny and steamy, but I’d like to see more romance.
I really enjoyed the relationship these two MCs built. The story was fun and I appreciated the honesty between Colton and Elle.
4*
Elle has been playing the dare game with her best friend Tiffany since their school days. Working at the same firm as her father she’s determined to make it on her own.
Elle finds Colton dreamy but he’s yet to notice her.
A dare she can’t resist, you really need to read this book
A witty, fun, and entertaining story. One crazy dare leads Elle and Colton on a wild but endearing journey together. I liked this story.
I don’t think I could finish even if you dared me to.
I’m not a book quitter. I never like doing it. But never say never, I guess.
I thought the blurb was funny in one of those so dumb it’s funny kind of ways but it was just, well, even more than dumb. It was worse because it was so immature.
The prologue was Tiffany & Elle in college with a dare riding a mechanical bull in a country bar. But then when chapter 1 starts they are out of college, working together at Elle’s father’s company and still daring each other in the most immature ways. Daring to answer the next call in an accent, walking around with a pink sticky note on their butt (really?), going to the coffee house and eating a chocolate muffin while making orgasm sounds. So immature and idiotic. At least riding the bull is a decent dare. They are mid 20s college graduates acting like gradeschoolers.
I didn’t like Elle from the beginning but wanted to ride it out thinking it would get better. It didn’t. I felt like I was reading for forever but I wasn’t even past chapter 3.
I don’t read reviews before I read a book because I want to form my own opinion. Once I started getting fed up with Elle and her antics I went to check out the reviews and realized many people felt the same way. I was glad it wasn’t just me being cranky about it. I must be too old to find this funny or even slightly amusing.
I have several books by this author on my Kindle that I haven’t read yet. I hope they aren’t all like this.
Great story. Loved this book and didn’t want it to end.
Elle and Colton
This is a very fun read with real characters. My only concern is that Elle is so much younger than Colton in years and especially behaviorally.
A very cute romantic love story
One of the best books I’ve read!!
I absolutely love Elle & Colton together. Their relationship was amazing from the beginning and the dares were absolutely perfect. Truly an amazing read with an amazing ending.
Dare you to read it-enjoyed reading!
The Dare is a hilarious contemporary romance by Lauren Landish. Ms. Landish has provided readers with a well-written book and populated it with fun and lovable characters. This book is written in first person, alternating point of view…my least favorite format, but honestly, Ms. Landish rocked it in this book. Elle and her friend are constantly daring each other. When Colton catches Elle mid-dare with her butt on his copier this fun book only gets better. Elle and Colton’s story is loaded with drama, laugh-out-loud (really loud) humor and sizzle. I loved this book from start to finish and can’t wait to read another Lauren Landish book. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
Really enjoyed this book. It is very entertaining. Made me laugh out loud
Lauren Landish is a favorite author! This was such a fun, light and romantic book! The characters were fabulous!
This story hits all the spots with terrific characters, funny and witty interaction between besties and lots of sizzling heat. Loved it!
