Learning to Swim
Cannot wait for Book 3! Oh, hold on, I’m supposed to be reviewing Book 2.
This is a four book series based on the daughters of a Romani “King” whose mother made a prophecy for each daughter. While each story stands alone, the greatest enjoyment and impact of character development would be from the entire series, in order. (I’m a big Debra Salonen fan so I am fully expecting the same level of excellence from the next two stories as these past two have displayed.)
The first book is a delightful tale but also gives a lot of background and history of the Romani. Some of this is quite disturbing, whether or not you are a student of history. Like the Jews and other targeted groups, the Romani suffered heavily under Hitler. But rather than being a “downer,” this context gives depth and meaning to some of the rituals and strength of family ties exhibited within the community. Book 2 also has an underlying serious theme or two, the most critical of which is the issue of swimming pool safety and the urgent need to be sure all children either know how to swim and/or understand the need for appropriate flotation devices (life vests, etc.) until they’ve learned. The concept of watching out for one another and older children having an innate responsibility for the younger ones in their midst is also developed quite nicely. And yes, the love story is wonderfully and logically plotted.
Same as Book 1 didn’t even finish it. I read it bc the first book was very good. This is about 4 sisters so I guess Books 3 and 4 will be the same idea. They don’t want to get involved bc they were hurt, something scary happens and then it’s happily ever after. Book 1 at least held my interest bc it highlighted the gypsy way of life and had some good lessons in it.
This story has everything you could want for a romance in Vegas. It has romance, intrigue, suspense, humor and family drama. The second book in a series about 4 gypsy sisters who each are named after a princess with all their quirky friends and family. I enjoyed the well written plot. The characters are well developed and interesting. I enjoyed the book and look forward to the others in the series

Now she needs to figure out a way to get the restaurant back up again and turning a profit so she can take care of her daughter, pay her bills, keep her ex out of the picture for good and hold on to her heart…from the lawyer she hired to help her.
Rob Brighten is the son of her chef and an attorney who’s running the Vegas satellite office for the law firm he worked for in California. He is determined to fix the problems at the office and get back to his old life in California until he meets Kate who breaks all his dating rules..she’s divorced, has a kid, works all the time.
Can Rob prove that he has what it takes to be the kind of dad Kate’s daughter needs and wants and for the attraction between them to be the HEA they are looking for??
Looking forward to the next book in this series!!
The Daddy Gamble is a wonderful, heart warming romance. It can be read as a stand alone book but would be even better if you read Prince Charming Undercover first. These characters step right off the page. They are so sparkling and realistic. There are many plot twists on the way to discovering if Kate will get her “prince.” I stayed up most of the night because I did not want to put this book down!
