An ingenious code hidden in the works of Leonardo da Vinci. A desperate race through the cathedrals and castles of Europe. An astonishing truth concealed for centuries… unveiled at last.
While in Paris, Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is awakened by a phone call in the dead of the night. The elderly curator of the Louvre has been murdered inside the museum, his body covered in baffling … baffling symbols. As Langdon and gifted French cryptologist Sophie Neveu sort through the bizarre riddles, they are stunned to discover a trail of clues hidden in the works of Leonardo da Vinci — clues visible for all to see and yet ingeniously disguised by the painter.
Even more startling, the late curator was involved in the Priory of Sion — a secret society whose members included Sir Isaac Newton, Victor Hugo, and Da Vinci — and he guarded a breathtaking historical secret. Unless Langdon and Neveu can decipher the labyrinthine puzzle — while avoiding the faceless adversary who shadows their every move — the explosive, ancient truth will be lost forever.

This book had so much interesting information I read it twice!
Took me three days, staying up until 2 a.m. to finish this book. I think this is DB’s best work.
Much better than the movie
Hard to put down
This is probably one of the best books I have ever read. Definitely read the book before the movie. It is a true page turner.
It’s one of my favorite reads. I’ve read it a few times and the books Dan Brown has written since. They challenge you to look at institutions and what they are capable of.
AWESOME!!!
Great book. Fast moving. One of those books
that you don’t want to put down.
Enjoyed the blending of historical information, the locations, and the ingenious plot. A great way to blend history with an intriguing mystery.
Really enjoyed the book and movie.
a fantastic and intriguing plot. It made me a rethink a lot of the religious ideas I was brought up with.
I loved this book and the information it gave sent me on a journey of discovery.
Excellent read!
This book was absolutely fantastic. I couldn’t put it down.
It is a great book when Dan Brown is not showing off is art history research. The knowledge needs tight trimming and much less regurgitation. I commend his research efforts but only selective sharing is needed, and the rest is an annoying distraction that almost turned me away. Once you overlook that, the book is a fabulous book. I only wish I …
I enjoyed this story. It was exciting and suspenseful. Action on every page. But it’s not at the top of my “best reads” list. It’s lost three out of five stars for three reasons. First (and least important), the lively action at the beginning takes place alongside philosophical or didactic dialogue between characters. The readers are “told” …
I found myself trying to read faster and faster to keep up with the action. LOVED IT!!
Mr. Brown did an excellent job of bringing traditional thoughts on history into question. It’s always good to be able to make people think.
A decent read, but just average thriller. It is not clear why this book became such a hit when there are a dozen writers out there doing better action/thriller novels than Brown.
One of the best books I’ve every read. Fascinating and I had a hard time putting it down.
Just as you think you may have things figured out, another bizarre twist is thrown into the mix and the story takes a new direction. I truly was on the edge of my seat when reading this book.
