An ingenious code hidden in the works of Leonardo da Vinci. A desperate race through the cathedrals and castles of Europe. An astonishing truth concealed for centuries… unveiled at last.
While in Paris, Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is awakened by a phone call in the dead of the night. The elderly curator of the Louvre has been murdered inside the museum, his body covered in baffling … baffling symbols. As Langdon and gifted French cryptologist Sophie Neveu sort through the bizarre riddles, they are stunned to discover a trail of clues hidden in the works of Leonardo da Vinci — clues visible for all to see and yet ingeniously disguised by the painter.
Even more startling, the late curator was involved in the Priory of Sion — a secret society whose members included Sir Isaac Newton, Victor Hugo, and Da Vinci — and he guarded a breathtaking historical secret. Unless Langdon and Neveu can decipher the labyrinthine puzzle — while avoiding the faceless adversary who shadows their every move — the explosive, ancient truth will be lost forever.

I am a huge fan of Dan Brown, and I can’t rave about the Da Vinci Code enough. If you’re looking for a fast paced thriller, with an artistic flair, this is the book for you!
If you can accept all of the coincidental occurrences (i.e., an artist or sculptor knew when he created the work 500 years ago, it should point in a certain direction so a street builder 300 years later could lay the road out just right… ). It was entertaining but hard to accept as plausible.
Another excellent book by the master himself!
Thought-provocking. Caused me brodan my focus on religion.
Good book
Predictable, so-so premise. Written to provoke controversy most than a great story. Mind you – its not boring, just did not meet my expectations.
I read “Intuition” by Allegra Goodman, and it was engrossing and just great.
Then I had the dumbest thought of my life while standing in a bookstore. I thought, “You’re right, 40 million people *can’t* be wrong!” because that’s what it said on the cover of “The Da Vinci Code”. This is why I no longer frequent bookstores. I assume that store is …
Read it a long time ago, but I remember: I could NOT put it down.
Convoluted. Takes too long getting from point to point.
You really had to pay afternoon when reading this book. But it was very entertaining. I liked the ending!!
No one does this topic like Brown. Read twice as nod watched movie many times.
Just a good read, from beginning to end.
This is a good book, haven’t read it in awhile, but what I remember it was definitely worth reading!
well written, good story but I expected a better plot.
This IS the BOOK to read!
All of Dan Brown’s books have been excellent.
