An ingenious code hidden in the works of Leonardo da Vinci. A desperate race through the cathedrals and castles of Europe. An astonishing truth concealed for centuries… unveiled at last.
While in Paris, Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is awakened by a phone call in the dead of the night. The elderly curator of the Louvre has been murdered inside the museum, his body covered in baffling … baffling symbols. As Langdon and gifted French cryptologist Sophie Neveu sort through the bizarre riddles, they are stunned to discover a trail of clues hidden in the works of Leonardo da Vinci — clues visible for all to see and yet ingeniously disguised by the painter.
Even more startling, the late curator was involved in the Priory of Sion — a secret society whose members included Sir Isaac Newton, Victor Hugo, and Da Vinci — and he guarded a breathtaking historical secret. Unless Langdon and Neveu can decipher the labyrinthine puzzle — while avoiding the faceless adversary who shadows their every move — the explosive, ancient truth will be lost forever.

While I disagree with the theology, I did enjoy the creativity of the book.
A good read.
great story! remember – it’s just a great story
enjoy the read
one of the few I refused to finish. one of the first conspiracy theories – ignoring reality and facts
Good story. Very interesting. Highly recommend this book.
Probably the most pointless and over-hyped book I have read. I could feel the neurons dying as I ploughed through this dog.
intriguing and menacing all warped up into a fast paced mystery. An exhilarating thriller.
I loved everything about this book. It was hard to put down and it had a lot of that mystery and intrigue that follows the ancient rituals of freemasonry. I also loved the historical references to that time. True or not, they made this book for some seriously great reading!
Loved this book!
I wasn’t as impressed with this book as the rest of the world – it was OK, but not as fabulous as one might be led to believe!
One of the best books I have ever read
It was really hard to put this book down … awesome … right up to the last page … although some situations within the book are a bit unbelievable, everything melded well and made this a MUST READ publication.
Awesome to say the least.
Incredible book, love the story,
Amazing
I loved it. I didn’t get wrapped up in the theological implications for the Catholic Church, and I didn’t take it literally as an explosive expose’ of 2000 years of secrets that would change the world. I took it for what it was….a brilliant thought provoking work of fiction.
The best of Dan Brown’s work. Well constructed and a totally believable story out of the past. Controversial in some ways because it assaults some strongly held Christian tenets but that just adds to the tension and the solution of the many riddles.
Awful
Fun Fast Read
I read this because my son had selected it as an example of a modern-day mystery. I enjoyed the characters and story. It was a quick, easy read, like a popcorn movie in print.
Let’s start with “How I got to the book”:
So, last week two things happened in my life:
I had no recommendations for books entirely and finally (since I have disappointments that occur after taking a book that looks good, and finding another superfluous novel, or a book that is just the result of typing, I always try to collect recommendations …
