The League of Realms’ top enforcer cyborg Keiron Yaggar can have any woman in the galaxy. But it’s the foxy stranger the colonel meets on his long-overdue vacation who catches his eye. Linni from Ittroise, as she introduces herself, is taking a week off work, and is on the same Two Planets and a Moon Tour as Keiron. The young woman fascinates him. Her proud bearing, the way she gazes at the stars, … proud bearing, the way she gazes at the stars, the way she’s not awestruck by his position or stature… Not to mention the nerve she displays when the pair run into some very dangerous people on the deceptively idyllic Tastassi, the second stop on the tour.
Once Keiron returns to work, he’ll look into that planet.
He’ll also look into Linni, because there’s more to this young woman than she lets on. Much more. Somehow, she’s breached his defenses… and made his desire flare after their torrid night of passion.
Keiron knows he isn’t letting Linni go so easily.
What he doesn’t know is that he’s fallen for the one woman in the galaxy he cannot have…

I liked this book but didn’t love it. The characters, Keiron and Linni had different agendas despite the fact that they both wanted each other. Keiron is on a forced vacation because he has been working too much and hasn’t taken one in years, and he wants to find a woman he can settle down with. He thought he would never fin anyone compatible but Linni is.
Linni wants Keiron but she is on an assignment and also she has an upcoming interview and if she gets the job she will be his boss, so sleeping with him is a conflict of interest. However he helps her out and the attraction flares and suddenly it doesn’t matter anymore.
The Sci-fi parts were pretty good and that storyline will probably be continued in future books. However I didn’t like the end, but it seems that maybe their story isn’t finished.
There’s just enough in this to make me badly want more. This is a very quick little prequel that sets the stage for some of the scenes in the first book. I read book one before I read this, and it doesn’t seem to be essential to read about Keiron and Linnie before starting the rest of the series. Mind you, now that I’ve seen what brought the pair together and witnessed more of their chemistry, I’m a bit desperate to see this pair get their forever. Right now, their careers and events seem stacked against them. I’m anxious to see what comes next in the series.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.
This is the prequel to the series “Keepers of Xereill”
There is: a interplanetary cyborg enforcer (Colonel Keiron), a woman seeking for the truth (Olinnie aka Linnie), suspense, intrigue, twists & turns, mystery, myths, shapeshifters, some humor, action, danger, attractions, disinterest, secrets, enemies, bionics, investigations, illegal trafficking, auctions, corruption, manipulations, political intrigue, hive cyborgs and a steamy scene.
The characters are well-developed with individual personalities and have realistic emotional feelings. The story-line and plot is intriguing, well-thought out and written, it does end on a cliffhanger which makes the reader wait with great anticipation for the next book in the series.
It was a pleasure to read this wonderful Sci-Fi romance prequel, and I would recommend it.
This prequel novella makes a delightful introduction to the series, leaving us with myriad possibilities to look forward to but no loose ends. We learn about several of the variations in “humanity” as represented in this look forward to terraformed worlds and hyperfast space travel and are treated to a short love story. A satisfying teaser!
I enjoyed this book. It had action, intrigue, love and good characters. The story line was excellent. I did not see any typos. I would recommend it.
I loved the beginning of Kerion and Linni’s story! I can’t wait to see how their story unfolds throughout the rest of the series. We have already seen tidbits of their passion and connection in TTB and TCC. Really looking forward to them receiving their HEA. This prequel adds more depth to the series and is a great addition.
