“You! The one who does not believe. Do not shut your eyes to the gifts with which the Gods have endowed you.”I never believed in the paranormal. Curses, enchantments, lucky amulets, evil spirits, angels, demons, Heaven, and Hell – all this meant nothing more than fantasies found between the covers of a book. What changed my mind? A new job at a museum.Getting used to the new place was at very … to the new place was at very least awkward, but life went back to normal; more or less.
Things become genuinely complicated with the discovery of a very unlikely connection — me, from the present, and a young woman from the 19th-century named Leah. Capable of taking over her body when Leah agrees, l get to discover hidden lies, mistakes, and foolish ambitions, which if left alone can destroy the future.
But, how can I face this situation when my own heart is about to get stolen by the surprising charm of the past?

Damn! What a story! I got this book as an arc via a facebook group and they already had me at Greek Mythology. However, the blurb on the back quite clearly doesn’t prepare you for what’s really waiting for you. I wasn’t prepared at least. Mostly because a lot of Greek mythology stories are following the same patterns and are telling the same kind of story. Well, I can assure you that not one of them is like this.
From start to finish this story was a rollercoaster. That’s partly because of the way the story was written. Just like the main characters we got only one piece of the puzzle at a time and therefore it’s unclear for a long time where the story is actually going. However, once it becomes more and more clear which direction this story takes, I moved to the edge of my seat and stopped breathing. Every piece of the puzzle clicked perfectly and the finale was heartbreakingly epic.
This story is also amazing because it has really dark and emotional moments and themes. If you have certain triggers (abuse, rape, to name a few) you might want to skip this book. However, if you’re like me and love emotional and dark reads, this book is absolutely perfect. At times it’s quite sickening what’s happening, but I love how all of the characters involved somehow keep hoping and keep fighting.
And that made them the true stars of this story. I love how all of these characters were strong and brave in their own way, without becoming unrealistic heroes. If a book is dark and if characters go through traumatizing experiences it’s always inspiring to get a realistic, but still fight-like reaction. And this book absolutely does that. The characters cry and mourn and break and scream, but deep in themselves they find the power to fight, to survive and to go on.
I’m really excited about the next book in the series!
This is an impressive time travel/paranormal romance. I liked it.. It is very well done as it goes from present to past. Romance, adventure and drama..
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Although I’m not normally a fan of time travel, I enjoyed this book. The characters were believable and the wonderful intricacies of the story line pulls you in. I like that the characters are a little flawed, yet trying to be the best they can be in the situations that they go through and becoming more in the time that passes. The story also left me with a true feeling of different time periods being woven together in a beautiful way. I am looking forward to reading the second book in the series.
The Curse of Time is a fast-paced, unique, and riveting read!
The story itself revolves around a young woman named Scarlett, and her more or less mundane life. One she shares with her deadbeat boyfriend, until she one day gets a job at a strange museum, and even stanger things unfold.
I loved the characters of this story, not in the least Scarlett who is determined and brave, but also Chance, the gentleman *swoon*, and not to forget Midnight, the kitten familiar!! Such a great cast, and they all work so well together.
The Curse of Time offers a fantastic mix of mythology, witchcraft, timetravel, old and new, and everything in between, in a most unique and appealing way. I definitely recommend it!
Note: As I listened to the audiobook, I’ll also add the fact that I thought the narrator did a stellar job. Great book, in every way!
I didn’t want to put this book down. This is a great story full of great characters and action. I can’t wait for the next book.
Great mythological read that will have you in tears from laughing and crying! An emotional Rollercoaster that grips you and doesnt let you go to the end! I can not say enough. Pick this up and read it, you won’t be disappointed!
This book totally sucked me it. Our MC just took a job at a museum that focuses on witches/magic which she knows nothing about nor believes in. This leads to a fascinating tale of her changing her mind and discovering her own hidden talents/past. Makes for a wonderful story that you won’t be able to put down. With a cliff hanger ending that leaves you wanting the next book now. I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.
And exciting time-travelling story full of drama and unforeseen challenges.
Scarlett starts to work in an occult museum to earn some money, as her boyfriend Jared does not bring any into the household. Little could she know this job will bring her more adventure than she bargained for or expected, and the mythological artefact tied to the place will reveal secrets she had no idea about. Experiencing the past through Leah, a maid in an Earl’s home, Scarlett gets to meet her ancestors and even her love.
This was a great magical and adventurous story, emotional and fast paced. Scarlett was a great heroine, disbelieving at first, but once she started to believe, she grew up into a determined and capable young woman that does not give up even facing the impossible. I absolutely adored Midnight, she was such a typical cat figure, and Chance, however brief his presence might have been, brought in a lovely touch of romance and gentleman’s manners. I will definitely read the next book too.
This isnt my normal type of book and is written in a way that takes a little getting used to and i will admit i put it down a couple of times but once i got into the storey it completely captured me and i had to finish it to see what happened.
A brilliant time travel adventure with a little humor, plenty of secrets and some mystery with a sprinkling of darkeness on occasion. Unique and Beautifully written.
Ended on a cliffhanger which certainly has you needing teh next book.
This was a good read.
Scarlett is just going through the motions of life with a jerk of a boyfriend but she has finally found a job she loves only there are secrets. She starts hearing things and dreaming things. She must learn to believe in the things around her in order to make things right. She falls in love along the way but something is standing in the way of that. You must read to find out!!
This is the first book ive read by the author – Andreea Pryde and im pleasantly surprised by it. Im not genuinely one for Time traveling books but im glad i gave this one i go because it sucks you in from the first chapter and you are gripped until the ending
Scarlett’s (FMC) fate seems to be changing when she gets a new job at the Occultism, Witchcraft and Magical Artefacts History Museum. Weird Dreams, connecting with Leah from the 19th Century, an important book with missing pages and a smart-a***d, talking kitten. Its definitely got a lot going on in it. Leah’s story is one you need to read with a box of tissues because its both sad and dark. The one saving grace being was Chase. Who in his own way is trying to help Leah and Scarlett.
Omg what a bloody great cliffhanger ending!! Ill be on tenterhooks until the next book now. This was a cracking start and i really enjoyed reading it
Unique time travel adventure with an intriguing theme and interesting characters. Scarlett’s adventure of a lifetime is certainly filled with mystery, mythology, and emotion.
Scarlett was living a dull and boring life. She was in a loveless relationship with a douchecanue boyfriend, who was only about himself and his needs. The only thing keeping her sane was work. She worked in a mystical museum full of occult and witchcraft artifacts. She started hearing voices and discovers that she has a secret power within
This was a pretty cute read. Not one I’d usually go for, however, I am glad I didn’t pass this one up. Normally, Time Travel stories are difficult for me and I am easily lost with the time jumps. This is a pretty quick and very easy to read to follow.
I received an ARC and voluntarily gave my honest opinion and review
I am not much into time travel but I must admit that this one had me interested. I was really hooked from the time I opened my kindle until the end. Now if this is how time travel stories are told, then I would have been interested from the start.
Scarlett who works in a museum, but not just any museum. They are supposed to be magical items. Only thing is that she does not believe in that sort of thing. Until one day everything changes.
Like I said it was a great read full of mystery, adventure and myth. Prepare for a wonderful ride.
This is a beautifully written story! A well written unique read that will suck you into the story in the first chapter. There’s so much to take in as a modern day woman defies time itself to take over the body of a 19th century woman and it’s full of myth, mystery, intrigue and adventure. Loved the different take on time travel, loved the storyline and I loved the characters and this looks to be a great series which I am eager to read more!
I really enjoyed Scarlett and Leah’s story it is very intriguing i cant wait for more to read
A great time travel read. I Loved it!
Completely surprised at this story from beginning to end… looking forward to more in the series… well done!
I’m not a huge fan of the time travel fad, so I had some skepticism going into this book. I am a fan of mythology and the paranormal so I gave it a try. The writing was a little basic for an adult novel and I had a hard time getting into the story. It’s just not my cup tea.
What could be considered a cozy time-travel mystery!
This is a great book and is ridiculously easy to read.
The plot moves well and is easy to grasp as it’s not filled with crazy complications, although I found some of the plot points (the romance) frustrating it follows its trope well.
The FMC is cool and I love the idea of time travelling and the museum!
Can’t wait to see where this goes!
