What could be worse than having to spend a week with the man you ghosted? When Adrian Cobb arrives in New York to help his brother move, he comes face to face with the biggest mistake of his past—a baking conference hookup he rudely ditched a year ago. Now, he’s sharing a guest room with Ajay Sunagar, who looks as tasty as the pastries he bakes, and Adrian desperately wants to prove he can handle … can handle the heat this time.
But Jay makes it clear he isn’t ready to forgive and forget Adrian’s bad behavior. None of Adrian’s repeated apologies seem to make a dent in the walls Jay’s put up and Adrian can’t tell if Jay would rather make him grovel or cover Adrian in frosting and lick him all over. Adrian’s afraid that this time, Jay will be the one to walk away—unless Adrian can find a way to make him believe in second chances.
“The Cupcake Conundrum” is a sweet-treat story about a single dad, instant attraction, and falling in love all over again that takes place in the Williamsville Inn series world. A sweet love story that feeds the soul. The characters, though they have a bit of a rough start, find themselves brought back together and their road is engagingly entertaining. Watching them navigate the path to reconnection was a pleasure. The heroes of this story were enjoyable to meet and It was a delight to watch their love story unfold.

Firstly, I just want to make it clear that the author’s writing style is actually very good. Their story flowed very well and it was very easy to follow. The characters were also very well-developed and the dialogue very realistic and well-thoughtout. However, I couldn’t get past the fact the a grown man, Adrian, ghosted on someone, Jay, they connected with after 3 days of hot sex and deep connection and intimate conversations where they traded many details about their personal lives. It was unrealistic to me that Adrian didn’t share about having children while he shared about his divorce. Another unrealistic situation is that Jay knew Adrian’s brother, Seth, for several years and was even his roommate, but somehow no one made the connection or that it was somehow made known during that time.
This book wasn’t for me but it might be for someone else.

I really enjoyed this book; it was so sweet it made me crave cupcakes!
This is a sweet second chances story, where Adrian & Jay reconnect a year after having met and spent an amazing weekend together and after Adrian had subsequently ghosted Jay. Jay is understandably pissed and doesn’t want anything to do with Adrian, but their attraction and connection is too strong to fight it so in the end they will cave.
A cute story about different backgrounds and places in live and how they can be merged.
I loved The Cupcake Conundrum, of course it helps that I love books with baking in them and this had a pastry chef and master baker. Just my dream. I loved Adrian and Jay. They were coming from different perspectives but both loved baking. I think it was a great second meet-cute, the original meet was just plain hot, but the second one was definitely unexpected. I liked that trust had to be built and wasn’t easy. I thought adding Seth and Erik from Snowstorms and Second Chances was so good. I loved the ending and definitely recommend this book.
Sweet and Savory!
Newly separated, Adrian attends a baking conference and meets pastry chef, Jay. The two men hit it off and one thing leads to another, with Adrian promising to reach out to Jay after their weekend rendezvous; but he never does. One year later Adrian is back in NYC helping his older brother move to Philadelphia. Unbeknownst to him, his brother’s roommate is making the journey with them and it’s Jay! But things aren’t all rainbows and puppies between the two men, Jay is still upset that Adrian ghosted him and is not sure if he can ever trust him. Adrian has to reevaluate his life and determine if Jay is someone worth fighting for.
I enjoyed this book. It was full of sweet romance between Adrian and Jay and Adrian’s brother Seth and Erik. I was a bit thrown when we find out why Adrian ghosted Jay; it makes sense but I just wish they communicated more. I really enjoyed the culture that this book recognized. It brought in a lot of new elements to the story and it was interesting to see how this played off both men’s love for cooking/baking. I think that this book is definitely worth reading!
