When Prince Arthur has to rely on the one woman in the kingdom who hates him most, he must learn that earning the love of a nation means first risking his heart.

When he shocks the nation by giving her the keys to the castle, Tessa has no choice but to accept and move in for two months. It’s lust at first sight, but there’s no way she can give in to her feelings—not if she wants to have a career or a shred of pride left when her time at the palace ends…

The Royal Delivery – This is the first book I’ve ever read by Melanie Summers and the first in this at-least two book series, which follows Tessa Sharpe, blogger extraordinaire and Arthur Langdon, Crown Prince of Avonia. Tessa and Arthur traverse the usual sweetness and sometimes sourness that comes with new love and new situations. This reads like a historical romance (retain/overthrow the Monarchy and don’t try to escape your station in either direction but we all know how that usually works out in romances, wink, wink) but updated for the modern age, what with the hyper-aware internet age and product testing reviews on social media websites, among other things. This also contains much more humor than in historicals and reads like the feel-good chick-lit movie genre, that I, personally, happen to love. I greatly enjoyed this book and am looking forward to what Mrs. Summers brings us in the next installment.
The Royal Wedding – An excellent follow-up to The Royal Treatment! The continuation of the lives of Tessa Sharpe and Prince Arthur Langdon. This time, they are headed down the road to matrimonial bliss. Or are they? There are many detractors to their relationship: a standoffish sister, a not-in-favor-of-the-union father, the Hate Tessa/Brooke Is Better bloggers, Brooke herself, the controlling wedding planner and his team, etc. Tessa is under incredible pressure from all sides, trying to fit in wedding planning (and trying to fit in her wedding dress), time getting to know her future in-laws, time with her neglected-feeling best friend, learning how to be a princess and future queen, trying to find a spare minute without her own family constantly underfoot, and putting in 12+ hour days at her job as a magazine reporter. She also fears that Arthur may be being unfaithful, due to his being more constantly busy than usual, contributing to their decreased amount of time spent with each other, and always on his phone. Tessa is also deeply mistrustful of the aforementioned Dr. Brooke Beddingfield, a childhood friend of Arthur’s who has her own designs on the prince and heir apparent. How do Tessa and Arthur handle the pressures placed on them always and do they finally make it down the aisle? You should pick up a copy of The Royal Wedding today and find out.
I greatly enjoyed this book and found it funnier than the original, which is saying something. You should read the original before reading this book as it is a true continuation and you’ll have a more enjoyable reading experience if you’ve read The Royal Treatment first. (The possible issue resulting from not having the first book will obviously not exist if you purchase this box set.) This book (like the first) again has the feel of being a historical romance but is definitely set in the modern age. If you like movies (or books) such as The Princess Diaries, this book and story shares many things in common with them (though this book is an adult rom-com and not YA fiction), you’ll definitely enjoy The Royal Wedding.
The Royal Delivery – The conclusion to the Crown Jewels series. Like the first two, a lot of humor and heart, this time along with what is probably a fairly realistic look at the fears, the pitfalls, the trials, and the tribulations of becoming parents, especially for the first time. Because of this, the characters felt ‘off’ to me and I didn’t enjoy it as much as previous entries in the series. However, it’s always nice to take a vacation to Valcourt Palace and catch up with old friends and I immensely enjoyed the read for that. And I recommend this, especially as a very fitting end to an enjoyable series. Definitely check it out if you get the chance.
4+ – great read
So much fun! Wished there were more books!
Melanie is one of my favorite authors and I found her through this series! Great easy read, great characters with a world that you’ll want to return to over and over again.
3 book series over several years
Book 1 is really funny with some goofy characters and situations .. it has laugh out loud moments. Some fun figuring out (guessing) whose tweeting. Some mind boggling characters. A few ‘It doesn’t work that way’ or ‘not in this world’ moments. Drags a few times
Book 2; Phase 2 of the relationship. More ‘you’ve got to be kidding me moments’ By this time I am not a fan of Tess … or her family. Some of the sillies are funny. Drags more often, but still overall enjoyed the laughs.
Book 3: Phase 3 of the relationship. I had to keep walking away and coming back. By now I really do not like Tess or her family. Mindbogglingly immature and self centered. I like the Prince more and more.
I have loved all of these. Everything I have read from this author has been great.
This series did not disappoint!
Bunch of silly “royals” – simply could not get interested.
These three books follow the relationship between Prince Arthur and a female journalist who hates the royals. The journalist learns that being a royal is not as great as it looks. There are family secrets and miscommunications. There are political enemies and upper-crust plots. There are supportive friends and surprising allies as she navigates her life among the royals.
This was fun. A little much on the f bombs and sex scenes. But it was LOL funny and a fun read.
Very fun to read.
Great book to read for fun! A couple of LOL moments in each book. I highly recommend!
A laugh out loud series. Read the whole series back to back. Even snuck in a few bits of good advice and observations. Ended with some real positivity about marriage and parenting.
Language!
This trilogy was a light, funny read. I enjoyed the characters and found myself laughing out loud at some of their antics
This is such a great series. Each book is hysterical and witty and will have you laughing so hard your side hurts. The books are written and each one builds off the previous one.
This is a great series to add to your book collection. You won’t be disappointed.
Happy reading…enjoy!
The author brings in real life references. Clarice from Silence of the Lambs.
Joffrey from Game of Thrones. Holding the wall, also from GOT. With a few others, they come off the page at you without warning. Great read!
A funny, breezy read
I didn’t have a desire to read all three
Great stories with lovable characters!
Intriguing story line with appealing and amusing characters, excellent writing, utterly ruined by disgusting profanity.
