In this “tense” thriller and #1 New York Times bestseller, Detective Harry Bosch teams up with Lincoln Lawyer Mickey Haller to track down a killer who just might find them first (Wall Street Journal). Detective Harry Bosch has retired from the LAPD, but his half-brother, defense attorney Mickey Haller, needs his help. A woman has been brutally murdered in her bed and all evidence points to … woman has been brutally murdered in her bed and all evidence points to Haller’s client, a former gang member turned family man. Though the murder rap seems ironclad, Mickey is sure it’s a setup.
Bosch doesn’t want anything to do with crossing the aisle to work for the defense. He feels it will undo all the good he’s done in his thirty years as a homicide cop. But Mickey promises to let the chips fall where they may. If Harry proves that his client did it, under the rules of discovery, they are obliged to turn over the evidence to the prosecution.
Though it goes against all his instincts, Bosch reluctantly takes the case. The prosecution’s file just has too many holes and he has to find out for himself: if Haller’s client didn’t do it, then who did? With the secret help of his former LAPD partner Lucy Soto, Harry starts digging. Soon his investigation leads him inside the police department, where he realizes that the killer he’s been tracking has also been tracking him.
Thrilling, fast-paced, and impossible to put down, The Crossing shows without a shadow of doubt that Connelly is “a master of building suspense” (Wall Street Journal).

Love, love ,love this author… another great Bosch novel
Love anything Harry Bosch
Michael Connolly never disappoints . The characters are fleshed out and the y seam real. I have every book he ever wrote in Hard back.
It’s a Michael Connelly – need I say more?! Great story with my favorite Connelly characters. I highly recommend to those that enjoy the gritty LA detective genre.
I have enjoyed all of the Bosch series
If your looking for excitement you will find it here.
Connelly at his best, from a world class author
Michael Connelly never fails to keep your attention and this is one of his best as it combines the efforts of his police detective turned PI, Harry Bosch with the talents of his half-brother, Lincoln Lawyer, Mickey Haller in the search to clear a falsely accused client of Haller’s. Very good read and as always, well developed.
This book was too long, that is what takes it down from a 5 star review. Do I need to know the man put the key in the ignition, turned it, and drove away? The plot had twists. However the last obstacle was boring.
I got this Audio book from the library. Great book love having Bosch and Haller in the same book. Two great characters in a fantastic book.
I expected a bit more from a collaboration between Bosch and the Lincoln Lawyer, but still this was a great story. Titus Welliver was the perfect audio performer for this. Welliver has since become the lead character in the Amazon series BOSCH.
Bosch is older and wiser, but still Bosch.
This is one of the best books I have read recently. Hard to put down, one that will cause you to stay up at night reading. This author does an awesome job.
I have avoided Bosch like he was an annoying uncle despite the fact that Connelly is one of my favorite writers. That doesn’t make a lot of sense you may think since most of his work revolves around Harry Bosch. But I always clung to his other work like The Poet, one of my all-time favorite books and the Lincoln Lawyer series. I bought The Crossing because of Mickey Haller but Haller was barely in it. I should feel duped and angry that these crossover novels are lopsided but Connelly is such a great writer. Instead… I’m now in love with that annoying uncle Bosch and his relentless need to find the truth. I want to sink into all of his books. Thanks Michael. Soon I’ll be broke and you will have suckered another reader into the massive following of your main hero. A marketing genius move. And honestly, the book is good detective cat and mouse with a little bit of sassy lawyering on the side. Pick it up and have fun.
Harry Bosch is everyone’s hero, or at least he should be. Author, Michael Connelly, gives us a person to root for in this amazing series. Bosch isn’t perfect, but he’s a good man and he fights the good fight. We should all be so lucky to have a real Harry Bosch in our corner. The Crossing is yet another triumphant adventure with retired LAPD Detective Bosch’s relentless pursuit of justice. Great action, non-stop, so accurate as to how the system works.
Love all of Michael Connelly’s books! And I love the Bosch series!
I loved it.
Excellent writer
Michael Connelly is one of the world’s best suspense writers. His characters are wonderful, as are his story lines. I’ve read every one of his novels and can’t wait for the next one to come out. Highly recommended.
Can’t say it enough; he’s a great author who always does a good job. I have never been disappointed by one of his books.
