Wow!!! We just took a leap forward in our reading experience. I’m hoping that this author continues to develop and reveal herself as she seems to be doing. This series is really good!! I could not have been more surprised at the ending-wow!!!
This is the first story in this series I have read. I really enjoy Karis and Peggy. During a cross stitch even Karis, a psychic, stitches ‘murder’ in her pattern. She tells Peggy and they hope it isn’t one of the people there at the event. The person who is killed wasn’t liked by hardly anyone, IF anyone. But still, the person was killed, and that isn’t very nice. The story has a lot of talking between the characters which is very good. It adds to the story. I enjoyed this story very much and will have to try and catch up with the rest of them. I didn’t feel like I was missing anything with this story, but I do like to read series in order. I received a free copy of this book from Booksprouts. I voluntarily left a review.
Psychic Cafe Mysteries Series:
Psychic Cafe Mysteries Box Set 1 – This box set consists of the first four books in the Psychic Cafe Series. Where one book ends the next picks up the continuous storylines with each adding a new plot for that book. The characters were interesting; some could be considered annoying at times. Others were good in their supporting roles. 4*
A Deadly Delivery #1 – This is my first read by this author and I was surprised that it was good. The storylines were interesting and the characters were good. There was enough intrigue to keep the reader interested in this quickly read story. 4*
A Fatal Wedding #2 -This book picks up where the first book ends. Again, the storylines were interesting. The characters are growing into their roles. Erin got on my nerves with her lack of caring for herself with all those miscarriages since she’s pregnant again. Peggy is a good support character with even more personality in this book; she’s funny and a snoop, and a second mum. 4*
Tea and Murder #3 – The storylines are interesting and build toward the future. Karis and Seb are finally at ease with each other, but the past butts in again. Erin is still her silly self refusing to take better care of herself. Peggy rocks and is more of main character than Erin, which I like better since P is bright and lively and E is anxiety in motion. A good mystery with an unexpected twist. 4*
The Knitting Pattern Mystery #4 – Blast to the past, 1958. This is a well put together read. The storylines mesh well with a thread going back to 1958, as some of the others come to fruit. Good characters, although this time I found Peggy a pain here and there, bless her heart. Erin did well, not her usual careless self. The just friends are getting closer and everyone knows it, except them of course. 4*
Psychic Cafe Mysteries Box Set 1 end.
The Cross Stitch Puzzle #5 – Picks up a few weeks after Knitting ended. The storylines are full of second chances, theft and murder, and cakes. The characters are interesting, even the nasty one. Peggy, bless her heart, kicks up her fascination with investigating the thefts and murder to Seb’s dismay and concern for both her and Karis. There is a good twist or two. I think book compares better than Knitting, which was still interesting. I contacted the author to review her books and received this book through Booksprout. 4*
