Wife to a gambler who took one too many risks, Rahab finds herself sold as a slave to cover her husband’s debt. Forced into prostitution by Dabir, counselor to the Syrian king, Rahab despairs of ever regaining her freedom and her self-respect. But when Israelite spies enter Jericho and come to lodge at her house, Rahab sees a glimmer of hope and the opportunity of a lifetime. In one risky moment, … moment, she takes a leap of faith, puts her trust in a God she does not know, and vows to protect the spies from the authorities. When the armies of Israel arrive weeks later, Rahab hopes they will keep their promise, but she has no idea what kind of challenges await her outside Jericho’s walls–or if she will ever know the meaning of love.
Under Jill Eileen Smith’s talented hand, the familiar story of Rahab bursts forth in high definition. Readers will find themselves fully immersed in a world of dark and dusty streets, clandestine meetings, and daring escapes as a mysterious biblical figure claims her full humanity–and a permanent place in readers’ hearts.

So much about Rahab is unknown to us, yet this author formed a believable story that well followed the little we are told within the Bible. While parts were not easy to read, they were necessary to the story, and Ms. Smith did well in telling enough to make things clear without crossing lines into too much information. She is quickly becoming one …
Spectacularly beautiful. A mesmerizing and plausible tale of Rahab and her journey from prostitution and emptiness to redemption and fullness. Wow!
I lost sleep over this book, could not stop reading it until I finished it.
I thought the author did a great job of making the characters realistic.
I loved the book. Historical depiction of biblical times and the many injustices to people. A man is sold for debts along with all his family.
The book also gave a good explanation for the scarifies of the lambs for the people’s sins.
I loved Rahab’s story! The Crimson Cord is a thought-provoking look at how we view others. I was captivated by Rahab’s journey from brokenness to wholeness. I was immediately immersed into the story. It is well written and nicely paced.
Recommend to those who enjoy inspirational, Biblical fiction.
I purchased a copy from the author. All views …
Excellent biblical story.
Thought-provoking. Provides some insight not previously considered when reading the biblical narrative.
Put realistic feel to Bible characters. Brought them to life.
Beautiful book
I love biblical fiction!
I loved how the story of Rahab was “fleshed out” with what could have been her background. Just learned how archeological evidence proved that a section of Jericho’s walls was left intact revealing homes there!
Well written, engaging, and thought-provoking
I never thought of the back story of Rahab.
The author provided thought provoking ideas about a very interesting woman in Jesus’ lineage. The example of Gamal’s lack of mercy that mirrors a parable was very effective. I look forward to reading other books by this author.
I truly enjoy all of Jill Eileen Smith’s books. She makes the actual Biblical characters come to life, as she weaves a story about their lives. Inspires me to reread the Bible story to compare fact from fiction. Great novelist and storyteller.
Remained true to the biblical account with a plausible story of Rahab’s life. Well done!! Well written.
I liked the story and felt the author gave an authentic voice to Rahab.
Jill Eileen Smith is one of the great authors of Biblical fiction. She really brings the characters and settings to life and stays true to the Bible.
I enjoyed the way the author brought Rahab to life. She is no longer “just” a character in the Bible, but was a living, feeling person. Many of her traits were fictional, but still interesting and very believable.
Excellent combination of fact and fiction, well researched, so inspiring and faith-filled.
