She isn’t sure which is worse—not knowing who she is, or learning the truth. After waking up naked and alone but with no memory of her past, the girl called Ann would rather not know what happened to her. The horrific scars covering her body tell a tale of terror she is sure she would rather forget forever. But to the doctors and benefactors overseeing her care, the possibly sordid details of her … sordid details of her past are too enticing to ignore. She is forced to undergo a hypnosis session to unlock the secrets of her past.
But once that door is open, it is impossible to close.
The memories Ann recall are scant except for one—her name is Eve. And the man who inflicted the damage upon her body gave her that name. One at a time, the doors of Eve’s mind open, and she cannot help but walk through them, revealing horror after horror until she is no longer sure who the real monster is.
Fans of Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein and Margret Atwood’s Alias Grace are sure to love this blend of Gothic and horror from the pen of Leigh Anderson.

Very interesting Frankenstein retelling! I haven’t read too many retellings of this nature. It was unique and kept me entertained.
This was was so good that I struggled to put it down at night to go to bed. Eve was such a complex character, and was so well written, that the whole story felt like it could really happen. It pulled me in and it was hard to put down until I finished. This is one of the best books I’ve read in a while! I’ve never read Frankenstein, but from what I know this is a similar tale but from a female point of view. It was very creative, well written, and just an overall amazing book!

I am not a real fan of the Frankenstein tale but this book intrigued me and kept me reading.
I like Ann/Eve and that the story is from her point of view.
It was a unique experience to piece the story together!

I couldn’t put it down. Eve is a complex and fascinating character. At times I am very happy for her, and others times I feel sorry for the tragedies she discovers. She is strong and determined to discover the truth about herself. I like how she refuses to let men tun her life. This is a very good mixture of mystery, Gothic and horror
I have never read this type of story from the view of the “monster”. I absolutely loved the book and fell in love with the main character Eve. This was such an easy read, but at the same time you became invested in how the story was turning out. Definitely a good book!

An engrossing read right from the start taking you on an amazing twisted retelling of Frankenstein that will make your heart race and keep you on edge shredding through the pages! Touching, edgy, intense, exciting, thrilling, riveting twists, heartpounding suspense and hard to put down! A beautifully executed read that will most definitely be added to you re-read list! A fantastic must read!
A chilling thriller
Set in Victorian England, The Creation of Eve is a twist and potential continuation of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein as interpreted by Leigh Anderson. The story starts with Ann, a woman with no memories, who meets with Dr. Carver, a hypnotherapist, at the request of her benefactors. As the story progresses Ann becomes Eve, Eve becomes independent and is determined to find the truth while not becoming the monster. There are many ups and downs while Eve finds herself and the secrets to her past, leading to discoveries of who she was, is and wants to be.

I have read a few retelling of Frankenstein’s monster but this was by far my favorite. This is an incredibly creative story with enough horror to suit me but not too much to give me nightmares. As a Frankenstein fan (remember, Frankenstein was the doctor, his creation was the monster), this retelling fit in with a great Saturday night page-turning (don’t sleep until I’m finished) book.
