I Am Death.I Am Darkness.I Am Creation. These are the simple truths Emma Rose Crane, AKA Mattie Hathaway, has run from for the last two years, but the situation she finds herself in will not let her flee her past anymore. It’s barreling toward her at the speed of a bullet.Mattie finds herself back in Charlotte, North Carolina, for the trial of Dan’s mother. She’s determined to see this ordeal … see this ordeal through for Dan, even though his vindictive mother uses the situation to try to tear them apart.
If that weren’t enough, she lands on a supernatural hit list and has to rescue a woman who’s close to death—and survive the psycho who took her to begin with.
But just when things start to go right, the unthinkable happens.
Three gunshots.
Three truths.
But in the end, will her past save her future…or will it take everything she cherishes from her?

The 3rd book in the Crane Dairies was a roller coaster of what is going to happen next. Emma once again fighting against those who would try to destroy her and those she loves. She shows them you can’t mess with Emma without feeling the fire. Apryl Baker threw a look with the emotions with Emma and Dan, their love will survive time and death as long as Emma has the say. We see more of her powers, everyone wants some of that. Her mother shows up and tries once again to get her blood. Another fallen angel might be showing up again as foreshadowing to future books. Though I still wonder as questions from last book are left not yet answer, I can’t wait for the next book in the series. Apryl Baker is a wonderful writer with fully developed characters and story line. Really enjoying how the characters are growing as they age instead of keeping them in one mindset. I wasn’t able to put this book down until it was finished.
Just finished reading Stained and I swear it kept me up all night. Could not put it down. So many parts had me on the edge of my seat, feeling sad, happy, the whole 9 yards. Maddie is growing up and experiencing more and more every story. Can’t wait for the next one.
This book is just another example of Apryl Baker’s superb storytelling abilities. The character’s growth and development from the previous series and previous books in this series is outstanding. This book is easy to understand and you can catch on to what has previously happened without skipping a beat. The easy reading flow and story line will have you turning the pages and finished before you know it. I don’t want to spoil the book for you with to much detail, but this is by far one of my favorites of the series.
Apryl Baker has done it again! She continues to keep you wanting more. The story keeps you hooked and wanting more. You stay on the edge of your seat never knowing what to expect. I cant wait to see where she’ll lead us next. I love that the characters are growing up and more in love!! You are awesome Apryl!!
I loved this book because the character suck you in and all you want to do is find out happens to them. I loved how the relationship between Dan and Mattie has evolved over the series. I can’t wait for more.
As always, Apryl Baker delivered another awesome book. This may have been the shortest one so far, but it was definitely packed with information! I can’t wait for the next one!!
The story continues … Emma is pulled back to Charlotte to support Dan during his mother’s trial. Everyone in Charlotte knows Emma as Mattie and she has to accept that part of her past life and identity, although she does not regress to her teenage character but shows how much she has grown and matured in the past few years. Apryl’s writing is as good as ever, with plenty of suspense and nail-biting events occurring at a rapid clip so that you keep turning the pages faster and faster. While not ending on a cliff-hanger, there’s much more to be told of Emma/Mattie, Dan, and all her friends and family so there’d better be another book coming!!
This is book 3 in the Crane Diaries series, a follow up to the Ghost Girl series. First, I love these characters, each and every one of them. They have grown in my head to hold a special place in my heart. Of course I adore Emma / Mattie but I have a real soft spot for Dan and his love of Mattie. This book picks up right on schedule with the end of book 2. Dan and Mattie have fully embraced their relationship together, they have a bond that cannot be broken, but it can be tried. They are headed to the trial of Dan’s mother, Ann and bracing for all the emotional ups and downs that come with that. But, in true Mattie form, they can’t have one simple means of distress, they have to find other cases to work along the way. I won’t lie, this one is a nail-biter. Some things go down that will have you frantically flipping the pages, but you won’t regret a single moment of it. Love it and can’t wait to see what comes next for these two and their friends and family.
Apryl Baker has done is again!! Stained is the third book in the Crane Diaries. I love seeing Mattie/Emma and Office Dan together. I also like how we are getting to see Mattie/Emma grow into her powers and how she handles everything. Once I started reading this book I could not put it down. This is a series everyone should read.
I received the ARC for an honest review.
This book is ABSOUTELY amazing. I would strongly recommend reading this, along with the other two books in this series. I lost count of how many times my heart stopped, I could not put it down until I was finished, and I could NOT sleep after!
The third book in the Crane Diaries series but so far from the little trespassing ghost girl we started out with in the first Ghost Diaries. Our little Mattie has grown and suffered so much. She has learned to trust and love, found family, and became true to herself. Now we see just how far she is willing to go for Officer Dan. Thus was a tear jerking and amazing read that I will enjoy rereading a lot.
I read this as an ARC and just loved it. Will definitely recommend to others.
This has been my favorite in the Crane Diaries so far. I feel hard with the last book and wasn’t sure how Baker was going to be able to top that. But boy did she. Since the beginning I was Team Dan (Jacob vs Edward who?) and in Stained it’s great to see more of that. It made my heart happy. When I thought this was the last book in the series it caused a mild panic until I read that she plans on writing a lot more. It made my heart happy because no way in heck I was ready to say goodbye to these people. They have grown on me like they are my own friends and family. This is a definite must read!!!
I love this series and find them hard to put down once I’ve started reading them. Apryl Baker never disappoints. I would definitely recommend giving this series a read…..
Emma Louise Crane (aka Mattie Hathaway) and Officer Dan Richards are back in Stained by Apryl Baker. Emma has started to grow into her new powers and is determined help Dan as he returns to Charlotte for his mother’s murder trial. Even though Dan’s mother hates her with a passion, Emma feels she needs to be there by Dan’s side like he’s always been for her. Tensions rise for Emma from the blatant hatred directed towards her from Dan’s mother. Emma also finds herself tracked down by her own birth mother for as yet unknown reasons and to top it all off Emma finds herself compelled to help the spirits of the restless dead.
I have loved following mattie/emma life. Anyone who has never read the series needs to. I love everything about it even when she brings new things in. I cannot wait to see what is next. This is a series I am not going to be happy to see end.
Wow! This series is a must read and it just keeps getting better. Apryl does a fantastic job pulling you into the world of Emma Crane.
Page turner (no spoilers)
Emma Rose/Mattie accompanies her boyfriend Dan back to Charlotte, North Carolina for his mother’s murder trial. Three shots force Emma to let go of her past and embrace all she is meant to be.
This is the third book in the Crane Diaries series. I didn’t think Apryl could top the first two but she did. I look forward to the next one!
Couldn’t put it down!!!
The characters and story will take over your mind until you finish this book. This is part of a series, a continuation from another series called ghost files. If you’re looking for a great line of books to read, snap these up!
I really enjoyed this book – read it in one sitting… I love how Apryl keeps us on the edge of the seat! I also realised how much scope there is for the series to continue… each character has a story to tell & the possibilities are amazing I can not wait for the next one….. but am happy to wait hoping Apryl will continue to write the other series’s that I became addicted to after reading the Ghost Files. I need some Kincaid action too!!!
I cannot get enough of this series! I cannot wait for the next book. This book picks up where the last book left off and does not disappoint. The series is addictive, so be warned. In this book you get more of Dan and Maddie/ Emma’s relationship and it is sweet to see, since we haven’t really seen too much them together since GF. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to see what would happen next.
