I just love Vivian’s cowboy books! Always a good read!
I’ve read several of Vivian Arend’s books. I like this book. It was an easy read with a happy ending. If I had one negative remark it would be that her books a little TOO steamy with way too much detail.
The characters took so long to get to where they needed to be romantically! At times I just wanted to smack them both for being so obtuse!
Ms. Arned never disappoints
Karen and Finn, a romance interrupted, a second chance at love, but more importantly, a re-set on life. Karen is the oldest of the now four Coleman Whiskeyteers, but her life hasn’t been the happiest place on earth. Her dad’s attitude and insults over the years have weighed her down, and even with his trying to change now, my heart ached right along with her on what the years left behind. She is excited to set out on her newest life adventure, something she never thought she’d have, but time and space, and being surrounded by love, causes something to break in her. It hurts, but it also breaks her free. Right there beside her, loathing that he had to leave her five years ago, is Finn. He doesn’t prop her up, he gives her a safe space for her to really look inside her heart and soul for what she needs and wants
Finn has regretted every second since he left Karen five years ago and has been maneuvering his life so he can win her back. His reasons for staying away are heartbreaking once we learn them but his steadfastness and determination makes him the perfect match for Karen. The years apart were not wasted, they were building to this time. These two have a connection that is steamy, solid, heartfelt, and strong. They connect on a physical level, an intellectual one, and an emotional one. They ‘get’ each other and it was a joy to watch them interact
Stubborn, sexy, flirty, hardworking, and dedicated, Karen and Finn were perfect together! Their attraction, their interactions, their lives, brought them to be together not only once, but once again. Timing is everything and this was their time to get the life together they absolutely and irrevocably deserve, full of things that make them happy and bring them joy, including a fluffy white kitten that lives in the house
The Coleman women of Whiskey Creek do not disappoint with their love stories. You never know what they are going to do to their love interest. A great love story of strong women that need that strong man to complete them.
Great, fun, light read
Wow, this was not the story I was expecting. I knew Karen’s story would be good, but this was great. Second chance romance with a twist. I love Finn and Zach’s mentor. Even from beyond, he is still pulling strings. And still challenging the men, both mentally and physically. And what a reward. For everyone.
But this story left me wondering if Karen ever comes to terms with her father and her feelings. And how will they handle certain family members once they start having their own children. I think there is still more story to tell. I’m hopeful that we can get another story a few years down the road once they have started their family.
Great series with family and friends connections that are all bond together with love, trust and respect. Finn & Karen’s story provided the opportunity for their second chance and bridges the 5 year gap. Their story is heartwarming, suspenseful and steamy. Finn is very determined and has his work cut out for him getting a second chance with Karen but he is up for the romancing challenge. Karen is independent, a little stubborn, super smart and has her own agenda. Turns out these secret lovers are ready to reveal all…eventually. Invigorating read, love this series and looking forward to the next. I was provided a free copy without obligation and am voluntarily reviewing.
There’s not much better than a book about families and ranching. Even though we met Karen and Finn in previous books, it was nice to get to know them a bit better with their story. Karen has had a lot of expectations placed on her, whether it was by others or the ones that she placed on herself. It was nice to see her being able to shake those off and find out what she really wants in life. Finn always seemed to know what he wanted but unforseen family situations delayed and seemed impossible to meet. This was an easy read, which can be a welcome relief in dealing with daily life. Can’t wait for Julia’s story!
This book is a standalone but for me Karen is familiar already from the other books and for her to find her happiness is making me feel good. She deserves it and Finn is definitely the man for her.
He’s has his secrets that’s really not his but all shall be revealed.
Chemistry turns in to a lovely romantic journey, Finn has come to claim Karen but he has to convince her that they belong together.
No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and lots of good dialogues.
As always in Arend’s books there’s secondary characters I get to know that I would love to get a happy ending. This feels like family to me.
This story has it all, love, friendship, challenges and progresses beautiful to a happy ending.
5 beautiful stars
* I was gifted this book in exchange for a honest review *
3.5 stars. I found it hard to be engaged with Karen and Finn at first. Until the truths started to be revealed and then I could understand.
Zach and Finn being mentored and tested from the great beyond was entertaining and I think I enjoyed this part more than the connection between Karen and Finn.
Lots of sex but the romance felt lacking and I didn’t feel any spark or heat between Karen and Finn. As ex-lovers I just expected more.
We get cute snippets from the past and are not bogged down in jumping back in time which I appreciated.
This may be down to not getting enough of either Finn or Karen’s thoughts in regards to the other.
Finn knows he should not have let Karen go 5 years previously, but he really was in a tough place in all respects. Due to a nasty family crisis happening, things went off kilter big time. It just wasn’t the right time for them then.
This circumstance could also be a bit of a trigger for some people.
Karen, I could just never work out what she wanted. I think she allowed others and had put too much expectations on herself, so it didn’t give me a reason to support her. It was only right at the end when she was told the truth of why Finn had left and she started to make her own life choices that I liked her more.
I love the games evening scene. Brilliant. I want to play. Lol
So nice to attend Hannah and Brad’s wedding too and I thoroughly enjoyed all the interaction with the other characters throughout but hated that Braden gets away with his behaviour. It actually seems like he will be rewarded.
This is my honest review of this book.
