Never get in the way of a family feud—When Millionaire Carl Whitfield sold his Silicon Valley start-up and moved to Montana to pursue a ranching life, the Coopers took him in and taught him everything he needed to know. Now he’s ready to buy a spread of his own, settle down and start a family, and the Coopers are the key to getting the property of his dreams. Too bad the woman he craves is on the … craves is on the wrong side of the bitter, hundred-year-old Cooper-Turner feud. If he pursued Camila Torres, he might lose everything he came here to gain.
Banished from her family’s business for refusing to work under her less-talented brother, Camila came to Chance Creek to open a restaurant of her own. Taken in by the Turners, she’s done just that—and found a community that’s far more supportive than her family ever was. She won’t risk losing the Turners’ friendship by dating a man beholden to their mortal enemies—at least, not until Carl proves he’s here in Chance Creek to stay. He’s had plenty of time to find a ranch. What’s taking so long, anyway?
Will Carl and Camila’s desire for each other spark the Cooper-Turner feud into an all-out war?

This was not one of my favs from this author. The storyline took some odd routes that I didn’t find interesting, more like needed to fill pages. This one didn’t meet above expectations from her previous books. In this series this one was a little flat.
Just didn’t work for me
Camila and Carl’s story was sweet. A romance 3 years in the making apparently. The story started slow, but picked up once they headed to Mexico. I loved Camila’s family. They were very entertaining.
I don’t like that there’s this big Turner vs Cooper family feud, but it’s never explained WHY they hate each other so much. I read the entire Cowboys of Chance Creek series, but I don’t remember any of the Turners or Coopers.
I’m interested in Olivia and Noah ‘s story (book 2). That should be good.
I’ve enjoyed other Cora Seton books. I forced myself to finish this one. It was boring, the characters were poorly developed and any attempt at humor fell flat.
The first half of the book seemed more about a family who missed their family in another country. It lost my interest quickly. However the last half of the book finally became more interesting
I think part of the story was missing. There was some background, a lot of introduced characters and snippets of story. The book ended abruptly, none of the story lines were resolved, nothing was promised in a sequel and it left me confused. It is a very fast read that could have been quite entertaining. In its present form, it is not worth reading.
I typically like this author but not this story.
This was an OK read. You really wanted them to overcome their problems and get together.
Too much unimportant crap at the beginning of the book…couldn’t get into it at all. I tried 2 of her books with the same outcome… disappointed to say the least.
Just not my cup of tea
I found it to be a bit slow, usually I can read these type of books pretty fast. I always finish my books even if I don’t care for them. I still haven’t gone back to finish this one. I will give another try later on and see if it gets better farther on into the book.
This is one of my favorite authors and yet I couldn’t bring myself to continue in the Hatfields and McCoys ugliness. I won’t give up on Cora Seton tho.
The story got a little confusing.
Couldn’t put it down.
Characters were not engaging, story boring
I was an okay read for me.The heroin made me wanna smack her , she had too many crazy demands just to be with the man she supposedly loved.
Tedious to read
I generally like the works of this author. I just didn’t care for the female lead.
Story line for these characters has lost their pizzaz
Story was a little too little – Carl and Camila are ready to get married but have never gone on an actual date and then wait three years to decide they need to do this? Come on….I am all for romance and happily ever after but you need to at least know the person….there just wasn’t enough interaction with these two – this felt like an outline.
Didn’t like
