When Dallas society bride Elizabeth Eve Barrington discovers her intended’s financial ulterior motives for marriage, she hightails it out of the church in her wedding gown and hops in the back of a parked and beat-up pickup truck. Happy to leave the big city, sexy cowboy Connor McCall jumps in his truck, revs up his engine, and then heads home to Honor, Texas with the goal of saving his family’s … his family’s failing ranch. Hours later and miles down country roads, Connor discovers the stowaway bride, and he’s pretty sure she’s feigning amnesia.
What’s a cowboy to do? Cowboy up, of course. He takes Eve home, determined to solve her mystery. What he discovers is a lot of smoke–and where there’s smoke, there’s fire, with the heat generating between them hot enough to burn. Will Connor be damned if he falls for the beautiful runaway bride or will he be damned if he doesn’t?

I love. love can I say I LOVE THIS BOOK!!! I live in the area it is written about so i found myself looking for places as I was reading the book. The title of the book grabbed my attention and I have read several of Laurie LeClair’s books in the past and know that I love her style of writing..She ha…
In this book we have a bride who just happens to overhear her groom talking before the ceremony about using her dad to sell his “pills” by using his name. Her dad is a famous doctor. OH NO that will not do so what does she do? Think you got it from the title but it’s a bit more… Not only is she a Runaway bride she happens to find a trailer to hide in on the way OUT of Dallas.
There is so much more to this book. You have to meet Sweet Potato the pet miniature horse, Gramps and OH MY Goodness me Eve and Conner themselves. It is not simply a romance or even a book set in the Texas hill country it is wonderful read that has both humor and sweet romance.
Sweet
I enjoyed reading this book with its twists and turns I didn’t expect.
Fast read. Was predictable but a great pool book.
Enjoyed the easy read.
Really enjoyed new take on a runaway bride theme and the interpersonal family relationships of the families involved in the story.
It was a very good read. The moral of the story is how to deal with family problems. The runaway bride found out just what she was made of. True love won out in the end!
I loved this story I loved all the people involved it was just a great read
I enjoyed it. In the way one enjoy to take off the shoes when getting home – nice feeling but there are thousand best. I might return to it for some scenes and characters. Nice read indeed
Cute
I enjoyed the original plot with some surprises.
Light-hearted, easy-to-read romance with likeable characters. Perfect for a relaxing weekend.
Cute story
Nice beach read
I read it in one sittling as it was so good.
A runaway bride and a cowboy… heck yes please… this book was right up my alley and had me wanting to read more from this new to me author.
Great storyline. Was not sure how it was going to end but it definitely was a HEA. Loved the character Elizabeth, so realistic. Good read.
Runaway
This is great story about love. Liz is suppose to get married but her veil flies off. A cute cowboy Conner is driving his grandfather home after picking up a part and catches it and brings it back. She overheard a conversation her ex fiancee is having and runs, and ends up hiding in Conner’s trucj.
Disappointing
Twists and turns, romance and happy ever after.
What else would want for a good summer read,?
