No man should be as sexy as Trey Cantor when he’s mucking out a horse stall. But then again, there’s no man quite like Trey. Charity has known Trey all her life, but she can still appreciate a fine-looking man when she sees one, and Trey is far more to Charity than just a fine-looking man. He may have always seen her as his best friend’s little sister, but Charity’s all grown up and her crush on … her crush on Trey has grown up too. If only she could get him to see her as a woman.
During a trip to buy Charity’s new barrel-racing horse, Trey’s floored—and a bit horrified—by how attracted he is to her. He wants to put her firmly in the friend zone, but his body disagrees. And when they get home, that attraction ignites all the way to the bedroom, leaving Trey riddled with guilt the morning after. He feels he’s betrayed the family who made his life bearable when he was young and dealing with a drunken, violent father. But what Trey is convinced was a mistake turns into so much more when Charity finds out she’s pregnant—with twins. Now, he’ll do right by her and support his children. He’ll take care of Charity, like he’s always done.
The only thing is, Charity insists she doesn’t want or need his help, thank you very much. She’s still stinging from his rejection after their night together, and refuses to marry him based on some duty or obligation. She wants a man who loves her, not just one who’s determined to do the “right” thing.
Yet as Charity’s pregnancy progresses, Trey realizes he can’t live without her, and he’ll do all he can to convince her they were meant to be.

I love the work of these two authors when they combine The books always flow well sometime in a book written by two authors you can sense the change in the writing but not with these two
Charity and Trey have grown up together after all she is his best friends little sister Charity has always looked at him as a fine specimen and has had a crush on him, most of her life. When he travels with her to buy a new barrel racing horse the attraction becomes mutual and they act on it even though Trey knows he shouldn’t have gone and he uses words to wound her to break the attraction. When the complication of pregnancy rears it head Trey reacts in a totally ungentlemanly way. He then decides they need to marry but Charity wants nothing to do with marriage unless it is for love. Will they get a HEA will Trey admit he loves Charity You need to read to see
Trey has been in love with Charity since she was a teenager and Charity has been in love with Trey since she was a teenager. Trey was too aware of his best friend who is Charity’s brother. One weekend they go to a horse auction to buy Charity a new horse and they end up in bed together once they get back home. Trey feels guilty for sleeping with Charity even though he loves her, he tells her she was basically just scratching an itch. Charity is really hurt and angry.
Then she finds she is pregnant and then the comedy of errors begins where Trey thinks he is doing things for her best interests, but Charity sees it as if he is treating her like a child.
Eventually they work things out and they have their happily ever after.

This was a cute story of a man not wanting to betray his best friend and a family that he loves as his own. This is about Charity and Trey. Trey lives next door to Charity’s family in a ranch where he trains horses. He has been in love with Charity since before she graduated but never acted on anything out of respect for his best friend and the family that provided him a second home once his mom passed away. Charity has always had that puppy love on Trey but the more that they grew up together, the more he saw him as a man and the book starts with her being determined to make him fall in love with her. She gets so closed at one point, but he restrains himself. Next thing you know it happens and he stupidly states that it was a mistake and that did it for her… The story takes off from there as they dance around each other only to find out that she is now pregnant…..
It is a lovely story and I’m hoping there is going to be a story for her best friend Layla and her brother Austin.

Charity’s had a crush on Trey for longer than she can remember. What she doesn’t know is that he’s had one on her, too. But she’s his best friend’s younger sister, so that can’t happen. Until it does – they let passion get the better of them one night, and she’s pregnant. With twins. He’d like to “do the right thing” and get married, but he says so in the most unromantic way possible. He wants nothing more than to take care of her, but he keeps forgetting to include her. And she wants to prove how strong and independent she is, but she keeps forgetting to include him. This was such a wonderful book to read, seeing these two “grow up” so they can be good parents and find their HEA.

Charity has been in love with Trey for a long time, but he didn’t want to see it cause her family treated him better than his own. Charity gets Trey to go with her to buy a new horse and things heat up from there. When he finds out she’s pregnant he handles it badly. Can they work it out, or go two different directions? You need to read the story to find out what happens next. I think the authors did a good job explaining the complexity of the characters. I wasn’t quite sure about the title of this book, but it made sense after reading it. I did get the book via Booksprout but liked it so much I purchased it.

This is a well written brother’s best friend romance with strong, likable characters in Charity and Trey. The author does a great job building the story and pulls you in with her descriptive writing and detailed scenes. The passion and chemistry is strong and in time true love prevails. I enjoyed reading their story and would recommend this book.

I really liked Trey and Charity. I liked that Charity wanted Trey so she tried to get his attention. I was sad that he pushed her away but glad he wanted to be there after she found out she was pregnant. I am also glad that Charity stood her ground on her business and not getting married until it was love. They had great chemistry and they deserved their happy ending with their 2 little ones.

I truly enjoyed this terrific read. Emotional turmoil, drama and steam fill Trey and Charity’s romance. I liked both of these characters and I loved them as a couple. As this is a best friend’s little sister story, you just know that the situation will be complicated, the emotions raw and that there will be lots of tension. I thought Charity was sassy and spunky. She knew what she wanted but wasn’t willing to settle. Trey, I really felt for. His past was tragic and that really made a merely challenging situation into a much more poignant, powerful and difficult one.

Charity was looking for a new horse and a boyfriend. Charity always had a crush on Trey but he was definitely off limits he was her brother’s best friend. Also Trey still thought of her as a little sister. They finally sleep together and the next morning Trey wakes up and feels this guilt. She woke up after and he told her it was a huge mistake. Meanwhile their new horse was coming along fine with Trey’s help. Charity goes to take a ride on Kepler and in doing so she felt weak and dizzy and fell off the horse. Trey was so worried he wanted to drive her to the doctors. Charity told him she could go by herself and thanks for that as she finds out that she is pregnant. She didn’t know how to approach him so she blurted out that she was pregnant. Trey had been really surly and made horrible remarks especially when he asked if it was his. He wants to marry her but Charity told him she doesn’t want a loveless marriage because of the baby. Charity leaves town to go see her friends in Chicago. Charity also realizes she won’t be able to ride the barrel racing circuit. Charity didn’t know what she was going to do for money until her friend gave her a great idea. Trey goes the ultrasound with Charity they both find out a big surprise. Charity starts her own business making leather vest for the riding circuit. Time was getting close and Charity knew she needed to buy baby clothes and furniture. Trey knew better at this point about asking her to get married. Twists, turns and happiness.
Excellent brother’s best friend romance. Both main characters have been attracted to each other for years, but have been ignoring and avoiding the issue. Each for their own reason. As the attraction finally overwhelmd them, the drama and issues begin. There’s plenty to keep the reader interested. Don’t miss this one.
Trey and Charity grow up as neighbors. Trey was her brother Austin’s best friend. Charity has a crush since she was young but Trey treated her as a little sister until she was was in high school. They were both attracted to one another for years. Charity was tired waiting for Trey to make a move so she did. She needed a new horse for barrel racing on the rodeo circuit and he was the prefix person to help because he trained horse. He agreed to go with her to an auction buy a horse. The chemistry between them was strong.
Charity find a horse, Kepler, that has been neglected and was headed to the dog factory if she didn’t save him. Trey agrees to train Kepler against his better judgement. Training Kepler would have them working together closely everyday. The chemistry won out the first day back at Trey’s ranch. He tells Charity it was a mistake, an enormous mistake. Wrong thing to tell her. Six weeks later she finds she is pregnant and will not marry him.
That is just the first five chapters of this book. Loved reading it and know you will also. HEA

Charity has been in love with Trey since she was a kid, however he was off limits as he was her brother’s best friend. Trey felt the same way about charity but held back for the same reason. Charity decides to change that when she asks him to help her buy a new horse. They get close but not close enough for her. Eventually she wears him down and one night of passion turns their world upside down. Charity discovers she is pregnant, however Trey reacted badly to their hookup. Can she overcome this turn of events? Will Trey accept her and the baby? Will they end up together? Can she trust that Trey loves her? This is a heart wrenching good book with surprises and a HEA.

The Cowboy’s Mistake by Mary Sue Jackson. This is Trey and Charity’s story. I absolutely love this story. It was such a sweet story. Charity has always love her brother’s best friend Trey. But Trey has been part of the family since his mother died. He didn’t want to do anything to mess up the relationship but he his been attracted to Charity for awhile too. But Charity got her wish. She got Trey to come with her to purchase a new horse. With the two in close proximity to each other and having to spend so much time together eventually they finally get their night together but when the morning comes Trey is so guilty that he says things that hurt Charity. Now fast forward Charity is now pregnant and he wants to do the right thing a marry her but she refuses to marry unless it is for love. But now Trey has to prove his love and that he can put his protective mode into check. The story is fun loving and it made me smile. To watch them get to their happily ever after and their issues was informative, especially about pregnancy with twins. Love it.

*spoilers* I loved it. It wasn’t clean, but the depth of characters and their development was astonishing. The amount of detail and time spent on their growing relationship throughout pregnancy was truly unparalleled. So many authors would have made this book much shorter and skipped all of that and I am supremely grateful that she didn’t. However, I would like to see a picture of that wedding dress Charity made…

Storyline Hits a Roadblock
A unique horse ranch based love story could have been a lot better if not having to wade through the awfulness that was initially Trey’s personality and how he behaved toward Charity. His overbearing personality and condescending attitude toward Charity was so stifling that I felt anxious when reading his and Charity’s brother, Austin’s dialogue. If there hadn’t been a change in his demeanor and Austin’s presence phased out, I don’t think I would have finished reading the story. I also don’t think her best friend as a lawyer took the right approach when Charity video chatted with her and told her about Trey called the Buyer about the vest order they placed with Charity, the person who’s name is on the contract. Shame on the woman who took the call. His name was not on the contract.
Once, because of persistence, Trey heard what Charity needed, how he could help, they had a friendship. That grew into a relationship mostly due to the pregnancy being high risk, but also because attitudes modified, and respect was shown, so I finished the story and liked the last forty percent of the book.
Therefore I am conditionally recommending this story but also making the readers aware of the over the top personalities of Trey and Austin in the first part of the book which they might find to be irritating. And to note that I never score Leslie North three stars but I feel this strongly. Peace.

Here we have a really good cowboy romance. It has a lot of twists and turns, though all directed in the same direction… The storyline is good and the characters are really good as well. This is a really sweet, feel good story so if you are looking for something else, this one might not be it for you. There were no tears of sadness, or distractions in any other direction but the sweetness way. Of course there were a few arguments or disagreements but they also made the story feel more true. Overall I simply loved it and am giving it rare and fabulous five stars.
