Rancher Cordell Stryker just wants to settle down on his ranch, and he’s convinced the twin sister of his best friend to tie the knot with him.
But as the wedding day approaches, he finds himself drawn more to her sister. That just can’t be, because she’s his best friend.
Librarian Rosaleen “Rosie” Bloom is addicted to reading romance novels and living vicariously through them, rather than … novels and living vicariously through them, rather than pursuing the man she loves in real life.
Rosie had been content to read about romance, letting life pass her by, but could she rewrite her own love story?

This whole series has been very enjoyable and this book is no exception! Cord and Rosie have always been best friends. When Cord decided to get married he chose Rosie’s identical twin, Rosalin. Why? He didn’t want to ruin the coveted friendship he had with Rosie! Cord feels jealous when Rosie accepts a date from another guy and starts to re-think his situation. A devastating fire that leaves Rosie homeless and without her beloved library makes Cord offer his help. He realizes he must make things right. A fascinating page turner that you will thoroughly enjoy!
I received an advance copy of this book and I voluntarily wrote an honest review.
The Cowboy’s Marriage Mistake was such a sweet read! Though at times it was equally frustrating thanks to Cord’s hard-headedness in not realizing what he had in front of him. Not that his explanation was any better, pretty much always telling Rosie that he only saw her as a friend. But still, the road to his realizing there could be more to their friendship was fun and interesting, and I definitely loved his caring, protecting, and giving nature. Rosie was a great fit for him, and I really enjoyed getting to know her and her twin (though I can’t believe their parents would give them names so similar they could almost pass for each other. Huh). Still, I loved her as the town’s librarian, as well as being Cord’s best friend.
Also, it was nice getting to see some of the other characters in this series, such as Rem and Elaine, as well as get a glimpse of who the next cowboy/ couple will be.
All in all, I’d say this book packs a punch since it has many twists/ things thrown in there, but which will eventually deliver the much-awaited HEA.
Wow the books in this series just keep getting better. I loved Cord and Rosie’s story and all the characters. It captivated me from the beginning. I look forward to more books in the series.
This whole series has been so enjoyable. In this book we get to see how Cordell Stryker falls in love. He thinks he wants a marriage of convenience so he gets engaged to flirty and fashionable Rosalin because he doesn’t want to ruin his cherished friendship with her twin sister, Rosaleen aka Rosie. There are lots of twists and turns in the story that lead to a satisfying HEA. I recommend it! I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my honest and voluntary review.
This is a head decision vs heart decision book that could have had dire consequences.
The decisions we make with our heads are sometimes counterproductive to what our heart really needs.
That is what Cord figured out…. Almost too late.
Good book!
This series by Jessie Gussman has been so wonderful, and each story is so unique. This Cowboy, who almost married the wrong twin, has a heart of gold. I really liked both of the protagonists a LOT. I liked their shared history and their fun and humor and teamwork attitude. I liked how the author made self deprecating inside jokes. The story as a whole brought a smile to my face and a lightness to my heart, as usual with this lovely author. Thank you, Jessie!
This was a sweet and inspirational read by Jessie Gussman that will pull at your heartstrings. Cord and Rosie are examples to learn from when it comes to forgiveness because dealing with her sister and Joseph’s ‘parent’ definitely took acts of faith!! Their love story unfolded over years of them being friends. My first read by this author and I have to catch up on the Sweet Water series!
I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Rosie, has been best friend with Cord since high school. But now he is marrying her twin sister Rosalin and her heart is broken. CAn Cord realise that his soulmate is Rosie? But he needs to be married before the end of March. Will he risk a big opportunity by not marrying Rosalin? Sweet love story about two best friends afraid to change their relationship because it’s the more important thing for them.
I received an ARC of this book from the author, Jessie Gussman, via Bookfunnel and this is my voluntary and honest review. I loved this clean romance between Cord and Rosie. They were best friends since childhood and still remained friends even when Cord asked Rosie’s identical twin sister to marry him not knowing that Rosie wanted more than friendship. It took a tragedy to make Cord realize that he chose the wrong twin. Will Cord break his engagement and marry Rosie? You will have to read the book to find out. I highly recommend it.
I feel fortunate to have discovered this talented author. I am always locked in from page one and she keeps me guessing. The story is full of twists you don’t anticipate and a surprise ending that made me sit up and say, “Well, I didn’t see that one coming!”
I received this copy free from the author and am under no obligation to leave a review. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am freely sharing my opinion.
We are back in Still Water and the people who could inherited a million dollars if they abide to the stipulations. A decision with consequences and not easily made.
This time the story belongs to Cord Stryker whom we have met before.
He’s been friends since childhood with librarian Rosie Bloom. Each helping the other throughout their lives.
But now that Cord has proposed to Rosie’s twin sister, Rosalin, their friendship and lives will change forever.
Rosie has loved Cord for years, and she realizes that once the marriage is occurs , she can’t stay in town.
But when a fire destroys Rosie’s home as well the library she helped get started, destiny steps in.
The plot is engaging . The fire, feelings not divulged and the loyalties to a sibling as well as to a friend are on the line. Which takes a priority? A decision that can change everyones life , especially when some of the individuals are being deceitful.
A reminder that life isn’t black and white, but shades of gray. And that we should always be true to ourselves.
This story is another thoughtful , clean romance by this talented author.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
That was more action and adventure than the others in this series!
Again the characters are well done. It’s amazing to still get original stories though all are based on the same tropes.
