Read all the books in the series!
- The Cowboy’s Christmas Plan – Trey Thompson just wanted a housekeeper and cook. He never planned on falling in love with Cadence Greer. She takes the job, right along with his heart.
- The Cowboy’s Spring Romance – Trent Thompson is confident, laid-back, and easy going except when he’s around Lindsay Pierce. He’s definitely met his match in the lovely school teacher.

Another amazing and wonderful story by Ms. Hatfield. This is Ben Morgan’s story, the oldest Morgan who was determined not to get married, no way was he going to do that.
Ben meets Harper Hayes and is lost already in this incredible lady. She is beautiful, fun, sassy, and just the woman he has imagined was for him all along.
She is fun to be with, fun to tease, and just an all around really wonderful and exciting woman. They date secretly as neither want to be married. They just want to be friends and hang out together. She lives with her uncle who everyone knows as a cranky man, but he just puts on that air. He is the only relative she has and used to live with him during the summers on his ranch. She loved being at the ranch. He was laid up for a bit so she came back from Boise to help him.
She is an accountant but started working at a shipping office on Ben’s suggestion as the other person retired. Ben is a Captain of the tug boats that push the barges up and down the Columbia River with wheat and other harvested crops from farms and ranches around the area.
He has to stop at the office to get his papers signed for each load and sees that Harper did get the job. So now he stops often.
They go on dates and have fun with her military service dog who was her brothers, and was wounded so he can no longer serve. They are great companions and he protects her.
This is a fun, very funny, teasing, and inner turmoil for both. Lots of togetherness, and then problems pop up that change everything.
I highly recommend this story. It’s so good and I think now my favorite in the series.
Finally got to read “The Cowboy’s Last Goodbye”! I have had it since the day it came out, but we’ve been very busy and I was waiting for a time when I knew I could really take my time and savor it as I read it! And savor it, I did! Absolutely loved the book and the characters. It was so great to get to know Ben (he’s always been in the background and I loved finding out more about him, his personality, and his background in this book) and to meet Harper. I loved both characters. Shanna Hatfield does such a good job of writing fun, balanced characters who don’t get on my nerves. 🙂 The ladies are feisty without being aggressive and pushy. The men are masculine without being “macho” jerks. And she always has just the right amount of romantic spice that makes my heart melt without taking it too far. It was such a pleasure to catch up with all the Thompsons and Morgans! Can’t wait for whatever Shanna Hatfield has in store for this series in the future!
