Who’s the hunter and who’s the prey?Activist Emily Sullivan left her fulfilling job in the Peace Corps to save her family’s ranch from bankruptcy. Her dream is to use renewable energy because conservation and education are her passion. Unfortunately, her parents believe there’s a greater profit allowing hunting tours to cull the local wild species. Emily vows to change their mind.Donovan Link … mind.
Donovan Link doesn’t stay in one place or with one job too long. This cowboy turned hunter is determined that the hunting lodge he built on the Three Sisters ranch will give him a nice nest egg so he could retire to Alaska, where the game is plentiful and his incarcerated father can never find him.
When these two opposites clash, sparks fly. Donovan sees Emily as a sabotaging eco-warrior and she sees him as a soulless trophy hunter. But they need to work together to keep the Three Sisters ranch in the black and fighting with each other — and falling in love — complicates an already impossible situation.

Second entry in THE THREE SISTERS RANCH series. This is just as good as the first! Two people with very different beliefs “enemies” face a mutual attraction and work through all the inevitable drama and issues to reach the HEA. Personally I can’t wait for the next book, this is an amazing series. A standalone but I highly recommend reading the first book, you won’t be sorry
Emily and Donovan are total opposites so this makes for an entertaining read especially with the things Emily does to Donovan after she first get back to the farm. I really liked Emily’s drive and ambition to keep the farm going but you do get disheartened along with Emily when no one really sees how much she wants to take over the farm and make it even better for everyone. This is a good read about opposites attract, compromise, believing in your dream and that nothing is ever easy but if you want it enough you find a way.

Three and a half stars. Emily keeps complaining about no one taking her seriously, but she does some stupid stuff. She is incredibly lucky Donovan is a patient man. While she has some issues with her father, Donovan finally reveals to her his dark secrets. There is plenty of sex and a somewhat interesting story. It didn’t wow me but it wasn’t painful or boring to read.

To save a ranch.
Not that they want to but Donovan and Emily have to work together to save her family’s ranch. There is a bit of suspense and twists in the story. I found the story very engaging there was some steam but the back story on the character was what I enjoyed. It is a good story well worth the time to read I recommend it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Such a great book! Once you start reading it’s hard to put down. Emily and Donovan are complete opposites and clash from the beginning, but still find themselves attracted to each other. To make 3 Sisters Ranch a success they’ll have to work together despite their differences. You’ll fall in love with the story and the characters.

Book 2 in the Three Sisters Ranch series and it is an interesting read! An emotionally deep read with family drama, witty banter, humour, passion, and love. It is well written engaging read; the plot is well-developed and consistent. The characters Emily and Donovan with their many differences are perfect for each other; the chemistry between them is off the charts and undeniable. A realistic read and is definitely recommended!

Emily spent time as a Peace Corps volunteer in Africa, but is home now to help save her family ranch from bankruptcy. Donovan had a crappy childhood, but is trying to stay ahead of his past, leasing part of the ranch property to run a hunting business. These two are completely different, and yet there’s a definite sizzle between them – they’re both adrenaline junkies, and spend time together doing crazy, thrilling things. I enjoyed this book a lot, and wish I had read the first one (will grab it soon!). I loved seeing this relationship develop when Emily and Donovan figured out how to compromise. There’s action and mystery, family drama and reconciliation. This is my first read from this author, and I’m looking forward to the next one in the series.

Can opposites attract that is the entire surmise of this story What happens when you thrown a vegetarian and a man who makes his living leading hunters together Will they find common ground or are they doomed to hate
Donovan leads hunts on the land that he leases from a local rancher it is another thing that they are trying to do to save the family ranch When Emily returns after working for the Peace Corp to try to save her home then this staunch eco warrior and vegetarian clashed with him. Donovan has come from a damaged childhood the son of a convict and that pasty is closing in on him Can these two total opposite work together to save the ranch and in the process will they fall in love
Second book in the Three Sisters Ranch series, this tells Emily’s story with Donovan while including the other sisters in the story. While this is a standalone, it is easier to understand family dynamics and what is happening especially at the beginning of the book. I like this opposites attract romance where Emily and Donovan, vegetarian and hunter, come together.

I liked that I was immediately drawn back into this series as if I had never left. This romantic story focused on the youngest Sullivan sister, Emily. Emily is a strong character with a big heart and is tired of being treated as the baby in the family who makes mistakes. I really liked her character.
Then there is the fun character of Donovan Link, whom Emily dislikes because he built a hunting lodge on her parent’s ranch and she is against hunting and eating animals. It was fun to see how she would interfere with his business. The sparks fly between these two characters and could have started a fire or a burst of energy for Emily’s wind turbines.
I also enjoyed that the story was full of action, some mystery, some bad guys, and a beautiful white elk named Ghost. I was riveted to the book and could not put it down until I had read all of it. I am so glad there is another book in the series. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Opposites attract
Emily has come home from her work in the Peace Corps to help save the family ranch. While she may be the anomaly of a vegetarian on a Texas cattle ranch she has a good head on her shoulders. If only her family would realize it. As the “baby” of the family it seems they think she never knows what she’s doing. Especially when it comes to the man that they’ve leased some of their property out to. He’s built a hunting lodge and that goes against everything she stands for.
Hunter Donovan has done everything he can to distance himself from his family of grifters. When he opens his hunting lodge he never expects to have such a beautiful adversary in Emily. When they’re not fighting they have so much in common. But the hunting thing is a major blockage between them. Can they overcome this hurdle?
I am enjoying this series. This is a standalone book, but you need to read the first one as it deals with Trent and Kelly. This book is about Donovan and Emily. Donovan is a hunter that is leased out a portion of the property to hunt. Emily is your vegetarian that hates the idea of animals being killed for their meat, but she wants to be the boss on the ranch. Everyone there is trying to save the ranch as her parents has fallen behind and their father has been sick. Well there is a white elk that is called Ghost that has triggered the interest of some of the hunters, but Ghost is off limits and in turn her horse is almost killed. This story does not end in a cliffhanger which is great, and I know there must be one more to maybe two more of this series. I can’t wait to see what happen next in this series. Everyone should pick up a copy of this book!

ONE AWESOME ADVENTURE!!!
Slam dunk! If you’re looking for an exciting, enthralling, mesmerizing, adrenaline pumping, pulse racing, page flipping bombshell. Congratulations my friends you’ve found it. This dynamic bad boy cuts straight to the chase with this impressive storyline and gripping plot that takes you so deep until everything else ceases to exist. Throw in all drama, intrigue and suspense and you have one jaw dropping dynamo. The main characters chemistry is sizzling, intense and palpable. The characters personalities are well balanced and blended with enough spice to add a little flavor to the mix. 100% on point with dazzling scenarios along with colorfully descriptive details that makes for one majestic backdrop and fuses this bad boy together piece by piece. Remarkable job Jamie, thanks for sharing this little treasure with us.
The Cowboys Hunt was so good that I just about read it in one sitting! I absolutely couldn’t put it down! Donovan and Emily made for the most unlikely couple from the very start because she’s a vegetarian and a total animal lover to the extreme! Donovan not only loves to hunt but he’s very good at it! Emily’s father leased him several acres on the Three Sisters Ranch for 3 years and Donovan has built a hunting club to hold weekend hunts to groups of men for game hunts like deer, Elk, wild hogs, etc. Emily and Donovan clash from the very moment they meet and although they do have other things in common, plus they find each other extremely attractive and are drawn together in many ways, they just can’t seem to agree with the way the other feels. At some point the opposites attract thing kicks in and boy does it knock them both off their feet! It’s just a whirlwind of emotions and events that steadily grab you and pulls you in deep with this amazing story! It quickly became clear to me that this book was going to be another sweet smoking hot page turner! I absolutely loved it and recommend it to anyone!
The Cowboys Hunt is the second book in Jamie K. Schmidt’s Three Sisters Ranch series and although both stand alone you’ll definitely also want to read The Cowboys Daughter!
Felt a bit frustrated with Emily’s character. It is an OK book to read on holiday. Emily returns from Africa to help out her family’s failing cattle ranch and is desperate to prove to her family that she is no longer the baby but is ready to take on managerial responsibilities. I found Emily’s character however rather annoying. She may have the world’s best intentions at heart but we know the ”road to hell is paved with good intentions”. She wants to save all the animals but has little consideration her decisions or wishes have on people. Its not that she deliberately sets out to do harm, she just has no lateral thinking what-so-ever! Donovan bears the brunt of most of her wrath, as she detests all hunters. Nevertheless, the heart and lust interferes with common sense and the two fall in love. We get an HEA at the expense of both their principles.

Loved this book. I was drawn into it slowly, but once there I was so fully engrossed I was sad to see it end. The characters were great. Donovan and Emily were so deeply developed with history and emotions that the author wove together so seemlessly. The enemies to lovers story leading to Emily being endangered set loose Donovan’s protector personality, leading the book to the climax. Would they overcome their fundamental differences, or would they be forever a casualty of ‘if only’.

Wow! Jamie K. Schmidt can write in such away that you can FEEL the emotions of each characters as if they were your own!! What a wonderful story! The Cowboy’s Hunt captured my imagination and took me on the most memorable ride. Such a perfect story for a fantastic series so far. So totally happy and smiling right now from reading this amazing book and really can’t wait for more by this awesome author. Happy reading everyone!!
Interesting romance set on a Texas cattle ranch where the youngest of the three sisters, Emily is a vegetarian. Even the irony of that isn’t lost on Emily and she finds herself in a love/hate relationship with Donovan. He is the cowboy who leases land from Emily’s father to run game hunts which, is totally against every fiber of Emily’s being. That makes a very interesting conflict for Emiy and Donovan who do form a relationship. Her ethics towards animals and his livelihood of hunting animals makes for some intense debates. Their arguments for each side are valid and they form a compromise of sorts…for a while.
There’s drama everywhere else on the ranch, Donovan’s childhood, Emily’s struggle with her family taking her business ideas seriously, a con man, Emily’s father who has health issues, an elusive white elk and wild hogs who seem to multiply overnight. But, in the center is a romance with a lot of heat between Emily and Donovan but, can that help them overcome their foundamental differences?
I’m impressed with Ms. Schmidt who wrote the Club Inferno series which, I really liked and her ability to turn around and write the authentic feel of ranch life and all of its struggles. I enjoyed this book too!

Emily came back from her peace corp in Ethiopia to help her family. Emily grew up on a ranch with her two other sisters. The ranch was now called the Three Sisters Ranch and she was back to help. It was somewhat hard growing up on the ranch because she didn’t really want the animals being hurt or killed. Obviously she did not eat any type of meat. Emily and her sisters try to come up with a plan so they each could have their little piece of the dream but her father already sold or leased a lot oft get land. Emily needed to get rid of one of the investors as he wanted to build a hunting lodge that Emily was opposed. Donovan and Emily have been adversaries for a couple months now. But, since then they have spending a little time together she found out he was a adrenaline junkie like herself. If they were not at odds it would feel like date. Donovan runs into Emily in town even though she was trying to avoid him. They went to lunch together at this new vegetarian restaurant that just opened. In fact the women that owned it asked if she would want a job. Donovan opens up to Emily about what his family did they were grifters. One of Donovan’s hunting party was told they could not go after any white elks. They could shoot all of the hogs they want because they were feral. Emily couldn’t stand the idea of killing animals as it was but the pigs were over running the property. Donovan and Emily are getting close and they both knew that there was an expiration date. Twist, turns, cons and a white elk make this one hell of a read.
