Turners: 1, Coopers: 1 Lance Cooper knows he shouldn’t try to escape his present problems by focusing on the past, but running Chance Creek’s Fourth of July Revolutionary War re-enactment is far easier than sorting out his family’s long-running feud with the Turners. At least it was until Maya Turner joins the historical society and upsets all his plans. Maya Turner loves history, but Chance … plans.
Maya Turner loves history, but Chance Creek’s re-enactments are boring—and far too predictable. Everyone knows who won the Revolutionary War, after all. Why shouldn’t they inject some drama—and sexy intrigue—into the annual event?
It’s bad enough Maya’s ideas are catching on with the rest of the re-enactment committee. It’s worse Lance’s heart is betraying him, too. How can he fall for her knowing how her family destroyed his?
But the past has its own secrets—and learning them can change everything…

Cora Seton brings us back to Chance Creek Montana with a can’t-miss family drama featuring a sexy cowboy and a slow building love story between supposed enemies that will keep you turning the pages. Carly Phillips, NY Times Bestselling Author
This is a great addition to the Turners vs Coopers, Chance Creek series. Maya and Lance both love history, museums, and freshly-baked pies, but an old family feud stands in the way of finding their happily ever after. I really enjoyed the sense of community that Cora brought to this novel. The Revolutionary War re-enactment scenes were my favorite!
What’s better than a sexy, down-home hero (hint: not a whole lot, when Cora Seton writes him!) this is the third book in the Turners and Coopers series, and what a fantastic cast of characters. Lance is headstrong and hot, and Maya’s fierce yet so sweet and kind, and when they finally came together despite coming from feuding families–I needed a fan! I loved getting a vivid picture of this charming small town, and Seton does a flawless job putting you right there with the characters. But be warned–once you read one of her books, you’re going to want to devour them ALL!
Feuding families can’t do a thing to dampen the heat between Lance and Maya, in this spectacular small town romance. This irresistible couple try to keep the sparks between them under cover. But long-held family secrets come between them more than their relatives ever could. A dark, dramatic conflict lies beneath the surface of this meaty, relatable country love story. I savored it.
I highly recommend Cora Seton’s Chance Creek Series, particularly the Turners VS. Coopers stories, to fans of my Texas Brands, Oklahoma All-Girl Brands, and Bliss in Big Falls series.
If you enjoy a good cowboy story, then you’ll want to pick up Cora Seton’s newest book!!
Such a sweetly romantic story of forbidden lovers from feuding families. The spark between Lance and Maya is undeniable, but this is so much more than just their story. The entire cast of characters draws you in and makes you a part of Chance Creek and all the friendships, drama, secrets that the town has to offer. (And it’s a lot!)
I lost myself completely in Chance Creek and Maya and Lance’s love story! Great read!
I thought this was SUPERB! The reenactment and history museum and love of their town and 4th of July celebration and friends helping friends and men-are-from-Mars~women-are-from-Venus and they don’t speak the same language ~ all spoke to me personally/emotionally/psychologically. I think I was waiting for this book since it was mentioned in the other series ~ and *LOVED* it!!! Hoping the next two are just as good! 🙂 Thank you, Ms. Seton . . . . THANK YOU!!!
I love Cora Seton books. She takes me to Chance Creek, Montana. She has great characters and story lines. I can’t wait till she has another release.
Cora Seton does great series that all sort of intertwine.
The Turners and the Coopers have been in a feud with each other for what seems forever. Lance is a Cooper. Maya is a Turner. They both love the past, have wanted to go to college, and both are unhappy with what they’re doing. Can they both get what they want and each other? I love all of the books by this author. Her stories draw you in and her characters are all interesting. Can’t get enough of her stories.
I am in love we the inhabitants of Chance Creek. Lance and Maya overcome a feud lasting generations to find lasting love. What’s not to love?!
loved it
I love reading a book that takes me away from life and sweeps me along as the story plays out. Cora Seton did just that as I read this 3rd book of Turners vs Coopers.
As Lance and Mia steal moments together the feud between the two families seems to be keeping them apart. As Mia tells Lance her secret it seems one thing that will definitely keep them apart.
This book delves more into why the two families are feuding and once it’s all out in the open it seems they just might be able to put their differences aside and just be the people they are.
I love Cora Seton’s writing and so many of her other series. This was the first book I’ve read in the Turner’s vs. the Coopers Chance Creek Series. You can definitely read this without having read the other books in the series, but I’ll be going back to read them because I enjoyed this one so much!
There are a lot of secrets going on in this book and clearly you can see how much the families have been at war. Lance is busy working on the Fourth of July Revolutionary War reenactment and trying to help raise money for the historical museum to find it a new place. Maya is busy trying to earn money for her family’s farm but she’s lost in thoughts about living in an earlier time. While making pies and trying to see her goods at a farm stand, she occupies her time sewing old fashioned hats.
Before you know it, Lance and Maya are working together to help raise funds for the museum and sparks are flying between them. It seems that they have lots in common besides their families hating each other. Unfortunately, the competition between the families grows and keeps putting a bigger wedge between them, but they can’t keep fighting their attraction. Will their attraction to each other win or will the family feud be stronger and keep them apart? This was such a fun read with the right amount of heat and chemistry between them. Another great read from Cora Seton!
This was the first book of this new series that I’ve read. I wasn’t sure what to expect. But I enjoyed it. I’m not usually fond of the enemies-to-lovers trope, but Cora Seton has it nailed. Neither Lance nor Maya are living the life they thought they’d be leading, but family circumstances have them doing what has to be done. They shouldn’t be together because of the family feud, but after dancing together they find that they can’t stop thinking about the other. They end up working together on various aspects of the upcoming Chance Creek Revolutionary War battle re-enactment. They find they have more in common than they expected. There are secrets everywhere with their families, and I think we’re going to see more revealed in upcoming books.
I thoroughly enjoyed the story and felt that the heat/sexy level was just right for it. I look forward to reading more of the series, and plan to read the books before this as well.
ARC for honest review with no compensation 4.5 stars
The Cowboy’s Hidden Bride is book 3 of the Turners vs Coopers (Chance Creek Saga) by Cora Seton and another great book in the continuing feud!
Lance Turner loves history and has been helping with the July 4th Revolutionary War re-enactment for years to help him step away from his never ending problems but when the museum receives word they are losing their lease and need to raise funds to find a new place for the museum he adds this problem to all the rest he is carrying…that is until Maya Cooper, who also loves history but wants more for the re-enactment and maybe spice it up. After attending a meeting and being pared up with Lance to make it happen now sparks start flying, sneaking around, hiding the attraction from their feuding families can these two save the museum, make the re-enactment better and maybe find their HEA despite their families?? Only time will tell….
The third installment of the Turners and Coopers was worth the wait! It lives up to the high standards set by Ms. Seton. Lance Cooper and Maya Turner grew up next door to one another yet barely know one another. The dance they shared at the wedding of Noah and Olivia may just turn into a whole lot more, if they can get past the age old feud between their families. In this installment, we once again become re-acquainted with some of the other members of the Chance Creek community when they all try to save the History Museum and Re-enactment of the Revolutionary War battle. I LOVE running into old friends! Wonderful story that will keep you reading! Can’t wait for the next one in the series!
What a fun an imaginative spin on a western romance! You guys won’t be able to put this one down at ALL!
Think Romeo and Juliet (the two feuding families parts) add a bit more spunk into your main woman and a bit more braw into your guy and you get the bare bones of this book, but it’s so much more!
All Lance wants to do is his job, literally. He’s given up everything including his dream of teaching to stay home and help on the family ranch. Maya Turner has done the same thing, they’re a lot alike in the fact that they’ve both done everything for everyone else and nothing for themselves. Both self sacrificing characters to an incredible fault (which of course they notice within this beautiful story arc).
Not only did this play out almost like a movie but I adored all the secondary characters that really drove this story and it’s meaning home. Sometimes we need a little feud and hate to spice up our lives and I love that we get a beautiful story of two people who finally realize (with the help of others) that sometimes its best just to lay down the pitchfork–and kiss.
With rich details and funny moments, I think anyone would enjoy this read, just a warning, you may have trouble putting it down!
I have read several of Cora Seton’s books and enjoy them a lot.
It is hard to have to fight the family you love in order to be with the person you know is ment for you. Lance and Maya have to do that to be together, but can they or will a family feud win? I love these books in this series because of the quick action and hidden humor in them.
