Chelsea Karnes has dreamed of moving out west to “wide open spaces” ever since reading her first cowboy romance. So when Chelsea gets offered a teaching position in an alternative elementary school in rural Texas she sees it as fate’s design and goes all in. What she didn’t intend was meeting a hotter-than-hell cowboy and sharing a night of passion with him on her her reconnaissance trip to find … find a place to live.
After a childhood spent screwing-up everything he cared about, Parker Trent is now a careful man—very careful. He’s inherited a sizeable dairy farm from his father and prides himself on the purity of his milk and the purity of his dating record: he only dates tourists. But when his dairy farm’s accounts are called into question and his hot hookup from the summer turns up—pregnant—as the alternative school’s new kindergarten teacher, not only is his dating record broken, but his world is turned upside down.
Chelsea is perfectly happy raising the baby on her own, but Parker refuses to fail at fatherhood. The more time they spend together, the more Parker is determined to show he can be the father their child needs. Recruiting himself to help with the school’s adaptive animal program—the program Chelsea happens to run—seems like a chance to show Chelsea that he means business when it comes to parenting.
But spending time with Chelsea has Parker longing to be more than just a father… for the first time in his life he’s wondering what it would be like to be a husband, too.
This novel contains sexual content, profanity, and scenes with referenced violence and substance abuse.

A cute love story that started as a one night stand. Parker is trying to make his life better being in charge if the dairy farm, showing his father how responsible he is. Chelsea is strong and independant, after a night with a man she never thought she would see again, her life gives her a suprise. But that isnt the only one. This was a really cute read with hit cowboys, strong women and gorgeous cowboys.

A great story. Parker and Chelsea have a one night stand that turns out to be anything but she gets pregnant. They will have their twists, and turns, and they will have to learn to talk to each other. I enjoyed reading. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The Cowboy’s Heir by Mary Sue Jackson (presented by Leslie North) is a Texas romance featuring Chelsea Karnes, who has come to Texas to teach Kindergarten and Parker Trent, who is an emotionally unavailable dairy farmer. It is a fun read, with a foregone conclusion. Romances always have this conclusion: happily ever after. It is the journey that makes the difference. In this story, Chelsea has always been enamored of Texas and cowboys. She has come to interview for a Kindergarten position and meets the perfect cowboy right off the bat. Contrary to her normal behavior, she spends the night with him after just meeting him, only to discover several months later that she is pregnant. She returns to Texas to start her new life and runs smack into him, causing all kinds of dissension.
Mary Sue Jackson tells a good story. They are all the same, but all very different. She gives her characters back stories and personalities. She has peripheral characters, but mostly they are pretty basic as the bulk of the interaction is the two people involved. The Cowboy’s Heir is entertaining and interesting, with twists and turns that are creative, interesting, and realistic. It was enjoyable to read, went quickly, and tied up all the loose ends. I recommend it.
I received a free ARC of The Cowboy’s Heir. All opinions and ideas expressed in this review are my own.
OK love story between cringeworthy H & h.
I’m reviewing an ARC copy of The Cowboy’s Heir (thanks, Booksprout). I thought the romance was kinda steamy (not explicit) but the characters just left me cold. She’s a ditz who dreams of cowboys, so she runs down to Texas, sleeps with the first cowboy she meets (he’s a player), buys a house sight unseen on the realtor’s recommendation (it’s an environmental and structural disaster) and accepts a job as a teacher at an alternative school (she’s never been a teacher, but her momma’s a therapist). Of course, by the time school starts she’s through the first trimester of her unplanned pregnancy and cowboy baby daddy doesn’t even know he knocked her up. And to top it all off, she discovers he lives in the same town, and he’s a dairy farmer, not cowboy. His first reaction to her surprise announcement is to slam the door in her face. This gal apparently has a Ph.D. in Bad Decisions. He’s the unhappy product of a severely dysfunctional family, and has zero relationship skills. His real commitment in life is the cows. But… They’re in love, heaven help us all, and apparently it’s the REAL DEAL, because no matter how much they screw up their attempts to get together, it still works out. Writer Mary Sue Jackson has filled in the outlines with all kinds of touchy-feely, in an attempt to explain/garner sympathy/make excuses for a pair of unlikable people in an unenviable situation, but my predominant reaction on finishing the book was “ICK.”
The Cowboy’s Heir by Mary Sue Jacksonis a wonderful read; interesting, heartwarming, sweet, steamy and enjoyable story. well written, interesting characters with plenty of steam; another great book by the authors, well done Ladies!

Chelsea is pregnant after a one-night stand with Parker when she visits his town. She turns up several months later ready to start teaching kindergarten, and as a part-time bookkeeping job at a ranch – his ranch, unbeknownst to her. They plan to co-parent, but have trouble agreeing on anything. His take-charge attitude and her inability to accept help nearly doom this pair. Parker’s father and absentee mother add much unneeded stress, at just about the same time that they start to figure it out. I liked these two together, and also how level-headed her mother is. I’ve read books from this author before, and will continue to look for her.

This is a really nice cowboy romance. The storlyline was good and the characters were really well written. I at least really enjoyed reading this story and at the end of the day that is more or less what I can go by when judging stories and this one I really liked a lot. It at least almost deserves the full five stars but as I only give those out when I feel the story is truly and exceptionally remarkable, this one gets the beautiful four stars and of those this story is truly deserving!!!

A really great story about two people that didn’t know how to be together or accept love but love seems to always find away. I loved Parker and Chelsea’s story.

Chelsea Karnes has dreamed about moving out of Chicago and when she’s offered a teaching position in Texas she jumps at the opportunity. While at her initial job interview she hooks up with Parker, a local guy who’s looking for a one night stand. He’s not interested in hooking up with any of the local girls. He prefers the tourists. As a result of their one night stand Chelsea finds herself pregnant and doesn’t even know Parker’s last name. Chelsea gets the job in Texas and when she returns to Texas she’s hoping to find Parker again even if it’s just to let him know he’s the father of her child. Parker is determined that he will be a good father for his child. He’s just not sure if he can be a good husband.

I really liked this story. It flowed well, I laughed and enjoyed the situations they found themselves in.
It deals with imperfect people and their hang ups. Shows how things that happen in our lives shape the way we think and feel. Gives insight as to how we develop negative self talk that then causes us to act and react in ways that sabatoge our interactions with others and make us think we don’t want or deserve good things in life.
It also teaches us that if we talk about these issues with those we have relationships with, it helps us put things in perspective. Once we see things for what they are and share them we can start to change our actions and reactions.

Delicious and Delightful Reading.
THE COWBOY’S HEIR – This story gives us the acting out of a young woman’s fantasy about moving to Texas and falling in love with a Cowboy.
Well Kelsea gets her chance by interviewing for a teaching job in a small town in Texas, meeting cowboy Parker (who really owns a dairy farm) and has a one night stand with him. Kelsea gets the position as kindergarten teacher so three months later she moves out to Texas, pregnant. Then the fun really begins.
I liked this storyline. It was a good look at two independent souls having to decide if they want to be a couple and what that means on the most basic level.
Definitely recommending this book for your reading enjoyment and pleasure.
I am leaving this review for your consideration. Peace.

Chelsea and Parker hooked up the night they met. The next morning Parker was gone and she knew she had to go for her interview. Parker was told by his sister that he needed to get a bookkeeper since their last one retired. Meanwhile 3 months later Chelsea go back to the small town where is was going to be working there. Chelsea wasn’t sure if Parker was still around and would she tell him. She was starting to get her life together so she also answered an ad for a bookkeeper on a dairy farm. Parker sees her and slams the door in her face. His sister Mia told him that she was the bookkeeper. Chelsea was not going to deal Parker when he is was in a mood. Parker came to the house to see how he could fit somethings that needed to be fixed. Chelsea speaks with the principle when he tells her that she is going to be working with Parker. Even though Chelsea was new in town that wanted to know the baby daddy. Parker moved Chelsea his house so she would be safe. At work the kids were not really taking care of the animals so she puts herself at risked and takes care of them. Chelsea goes to meet Parker’s dad because she knew he was always at the hardware store. Chelsea was getting bigger and Parker was stressing over his dairy farm. Twists,Turns, Surprises and forgiveness.
I have mixed feelings about the story of Parker and Chelsea. The story line was OK, in spite of a bit too much repetitive dialogue. But it’s hard to watch the lead characters being so indecisive and moody. I can’t say that I like them.

This is the first book I read by this author and it was because I love Leslie North. This didn’t disappoint though. Chelsea and Parker were hot. Their chemistry was off the charts but of course, they were also stubborn. With an unplanned baby on the way, it made for some interesting moments and I’m so glad they finally admitted their feelings. Loved it!

Enjoying the best that life has to offer means stepping out of our comfort zone and trying something new. Parker and Chelsea are about to learn what can happen when taking a risk on love. The Cowboy’s Heir gives heartache, a new outlook. Jackson gives a peek into the wounds of a battered heart and the antidote that makes everything better. On the verge of a new beginning, two strangers discover a brighter day. Home is just a heartbreak away in this tempting romance. Bumpy meets beautiful and finds perfect.
