It would take a Christmas miracle to get these two together Veterinarian Janice Sullivan has been horse-crazy all her life and only wanted to work on her family’s cattle farm, the Three Sisters Ranch, but her father’s constant criticisms drove her away, forcing her to choose a new career in dressage and leaving her secret crush behind. With the ranch facing possible bankruptcy, Janice has an idea … Janice has an idea to save it – a woman’s retreat. With Christmas around the corner, Janice is not only hoping for a chance under the mistletoe with the one man she’s been unable to forget, but also to give a few cowgirl wannabes a chance in the saddle.
Bah humbug! The last thing ranch foreman Nate Pierson needs is a bunch of weepy or giggly eggnog-swilling city chicks getting in his way and distracting his men while they’re busting their tails wrangling long horns. His short temper and lack of patience often push people away except the one woman he needs to leave alone. As tempting as she is, Janice, the boss’ daughter, can never be anything more than a fantasy. The only Christmas spirit he wants is 100 proof, especially when he has to matchmake Janice with the ranch’s vet.
Nate knows from experience that Christmas miracles are for suckers, but it doesn’t stop his heart from wishing Janice could wind up under his tree instead of with the man her Daddy wants her to marry.

I normally don’t read these types of stories but it looked light and fun, so gave it a try. It’s along the lines of a Hallmark movie to me.
The blurb is a little different than the actual story at least that’s the way it came across to me.
Janice is back home along with her sisters to try and save the family’s ranch Three Sisters. She’s also hoping that she can finally make some headway with her adolescent crush Nate that has blown hot and cold for years. Their crush is an open secret everyone in the family is very aware that these two are attracted to each other.
Nate while taciturn like most cowboys is very much aware of Janice and would like nothing more than to claim her as his own. He’s just got to grow a pair and stand up to her father.
The beginning part of the story was cute as Janice and Nate danced around each other. The steam was building up and once it exploded it seemed that the rest of the story ran out of steam at least that’s what it felt like to me.
The middle of the book started to really drag for me and I started flipping pages to move the story along. This story had a bit of everything – we have the domineering father that threw out his teenage daughter when she refused to tell him who the father of the baby was. The love everybody best cook in several counties mother. Lets rescue the world, while crushing hard on the foreman Janice and being off-standish for no reason Nate. Lets not forget the vegan sister, the other sister that’s building turbines, a PBR star, 6 dog rescues, 2 horse rescues?, the rich veterinarian that her father wants Janice to marry, the women’s retreat and I’m sure I’m missing one or two others but you get the idea we are only missing a partridge in a pear tree to complete this story.
These two needed to grow up and tell dad to stuff a sock in it and live their lives, when they were younger he could call the shots now he was relying on them to help save the ranch and having one leave for good would make the other leave too. I’m sure he would figure it out pretty quick if he did something that stupid.
So while I get some angst making needless angst for no reason just never really appeals to me. A lot of the story could have moved forward by them sitting down as adults and putting it out there. Then the rest of the time could have been spent on developing the characters and making the other pieces come together smoother.

Jamie K Schmidt has written another hit.
Janice has been in love with Mate since they were teenagers. She came home with her two sisters to try to save their ranch from bankruptcy.
This book had my tension from page 2 and kept it until the end.

Janice returned from Kentucky to the Three Sisters Ranch to help save it.
Each one of her sisters had a piece and they put it to good use. Janice’s endeavor of a retreat was not happening. Her father told her he knew someone who was looking for horse riding lessons. The guy came there but Nate kicked him off the property when he patted Janice. Janice always loved Nate but he was off limits as far as her dad was concerned.
Nate always had the hots for Janice but never acted on it though he did want to make her his. Janice was able to book a retreat through a friend of Dr.Petes. Rita was a therapist and was really glad to meet Janice especially they could work out a good workshop for the group. Janice springs the events on Nate who was gobsmacked. Nate and Janice acted on their attraction to one another. Janice was able to get her retreat working well. Janice’s father finds out about Nate and he is not happy. He wants Janice to marry Dr. Pete but neither one feels a spark between each other. Will The Three Sisters be able to save the farm
Here we have one really good cowboy – ranch story, and a fine ending to this trilogy of three sisters and the Three Sister Ranch. The storyline is there and the characters are certainly there. It can also be said for the most part at least that this is also a feel good story. Overall it is a good story and with a good ending. So the four stars I am givingi it here are well deserved.

Jamie K. Schmidt has written a 5-star book that is about a couple who have wanted each other for a while but have not gotten together yet. Janice has received a call from her father to come home one last time because they will need to sell the ranch. Janice and her 2 sisters have come up with plans of their own to help keep the ranch. Janice’s plan is to open a woman’s retreat to help women build up their confidence. Things are going good for the retreat but Nate is still going hot and cold. Janice’s father wants her to marry the town vet because he is rich and could help keep the ranch running. Janice is not up for the plan at all.
Can Janice get Nate to see that he is the one she wants, can her retreat be what she dreamed it to be and help keep the ranch?
Can Nate get over the feeling of not being good enough for Janice because of his past?
This book was a wonderful read and I would recommend it to anyone.
