Ethan Cruz should be mending fences on his Montana ranch, but instead he’s driving to the Chance Creek, Montana, airport — to pick up the bride he didn’t know he had. This latest salvo in his ongoing practical joke battle with his best friend, Rob Matheson, has gone too far, and Ethan plans to send his “bride” right back home, then get busy plotting his revenge. One look at Autumn Leeds changes … changes his mind, however. Perhaps he needs a bride, after all. A breathtakingly beautiful city bride.
Autumn Leeds needs a story — fast — or she’s going to lose her lucrative contract with CityPretty Magazine, so when she sees the crazy video plea for a modern mail-order bride for a cowboy, it sounds like the story of the century. Making a video of her own, she casts herself as the perfect mail-order bride for a rancher, but when she finally reaches Montana, she’s surprised to find Ethan’s the perfect cowboy husband-to-be. Against her better judgment, her plan to keep her handsome groom at arm’s length disintegrates into a night of passion spent in his arms.
Ethan knows he can’t keep playing this game – he has to come clean with Autumn and tell her the truth; about the practical joke and about the state of his ranch. He’s about to lose it all because of the debts his mother racked up before his parents’ deaths. Now his sister, Claire, wants to sell the ranch and collect what little money they can. He’ll be out of a home and a job, and in no shape to support the bride he desperately wants to marry, after all.
Autumn’s in bigger trouble than ever. Not only has she fallen in love with the subject of her expose — she might be carrying his child. If she doesn’t write this article and secure her contract for another year, she’ll lose everything — her career, her apartment, and more importantly, her family’s approval. The only alternative is to stay and marry Ethan. But how can she trust a man she’s just met when she knows too well that men always let you down?
Can a love based on lies last?

I love all of Cora Seton’s books, but The Cowboy’s E-mail Order Bride will always have a special place in my heart because it was the book that introduced me to her as an author and she’s now one of my favorites. I devoured it in one night and one-clicked all the rest of the books in the series as soon as I finished it. Super fun read!
Ethan and Autumn’s relationship is unconventional to say the least. Ethan’s YouTube video gets him a bride, Autumn. It is something that starts off as a joke but quickly it is no longer a laughing matter. Emotions and feelings grow and become inevitable. But, those lies always find a way to the surface.
This is a really good story and you get …
A very enjoyable story! An entertaining storyline with wonderful characters. I will continue to read the stories in this series.
Love this series and this author.
If you like your alpha males very alpha, this one’s for you!
Cute story.
What was a practical joke has gone way out of control. A video of a drunk Ethan describing his perfect wife is put out on the web by his friends. They picked a woman and now she’s arrived. Ethan plans to have her right back out on the next flight, that is until he sees her.
Autumn with the help of her best friend put together the response to …
Great story. Truly did not need the explicit sex scenes. Would have been 5 stars without them. Good plot, good characters, great dialogue.
Ethan ends up with the woman of his dreams when his friend pulls a prank of him and orders him an e-mail order bride! A fun read!
Romantic, funny, HEA & entertaining.
love it!
Cora Seton is one of my favorite authors. I enjoy books featuring military characters, whether active or retired, and Seton has mastered the art of realistic facts. I liked this entire series.
One in a series.
This was a lovely sweet read basically, it’s the old mail order bride story with a few twists, as in the bride and groom both had a hidden agenda and were keeping secrets, We have Ethan the Montana cowboy and Autumn the reporter from the big bad city, a bunch of well-meaning friends and a bitch of an ex. all the ingredients for a mills and boon …
Great
A joke & a article turn two peoples lives into happiness and a new beginning for the ranch. Ethan’s friends have played jokes on each other forever. Autumn need a successful article. She answers a YouTube video. What turns up is love.
I enjoyed this easy to read story by Cora Seton. While the story was a little farfetched for current times, it was entertaining. The heat level is sizzling and sometimes I fast forward thru the mixed up on again, off again antics of the hero and heroine. I listened to the audible version and the narration was good. I will be following up with …
The Cowboy’s E-mail Order Bride was a fun, quick read. It’s one of those stories you know would never happen in real life but it was still cute and entertaining so you roll with it. I really liked Ethan and Autumn. Although with Ethan it was an instant like and with Autumn I took a second to warm up to her. Ethan was this sexy, yummy, hard working …
The email bride concept was interesting and the instant attraction between the duped parties was entertaining.
Truly enjoyed this book.
Extremely well-written; loveable and passionate characters, believable and creative plot with a few twists and steamy enough to remove wallpaper! Can be read as a standalone but personally I can’t stop reading this author!
Ethan’s friends get him to the airport in order to pick up a new surprise for him. His friend Rob made a video and placed on You Tube. To Ethan’s surprise a nice young woman was who was waiting for him as his soon to be bride.
Autumn was just as surprised as Ethan when she saw the hot cowboy standing before her. She had to keep in mind the story. …
