Rising country music star Cassidy James McCall is living her own version of a bad country song. After undergoing vocal chord surgery, her future is uncertain. To escape the constant presence of tabloid reporters, she accepts an invitation to celebrate Christmas with her McCall cousins. But her idea of a quiet and peaceful holiday comes to a screeching halt the moment she crashes into her former … former boyfriend, the tough yet noble cowboy that she’s never gotten over.
Widowed, single father and ex-rodeo bull rider, Ryder Hadley, longs to raise his precious little girl in his safe, secure small hometown of Honor, Texas while bringing his ranch back to life. It’s a simple wish that goes haywire when the mega country sensation and the woman who stole his heart years ago gallops back in to town, igniting a firestorm of emotions in her wake.
As Ryder tries to protect his heart from falling once again under Cassidy’s spell, he soon learns he’s not the only one who can’t resist her–his daughter wants Cassidy as a bride for her daddy. With the help of some Christmas magic, will Ryder and Cassidy get the second chance that they’ve always wanted?

I love to read books about Christmas, even when it is not anywhere close to Christmas time. This is one of those books that I will be reading and reading time and time again. There is just something about it that drew me in. Yes it is a romance and yes it is a book based around the holiday season but there is also laughter and just a plain good second chance romance from the heart. There is something about second chance love stories that are extra special and if they include children… all the better.
I received an advanced copy of this book but it did not have anything to do with how I liked or didn’t like this story at all. Any story with a pet horse named Sweet Potato in it has to be good to read right? Well, Gramps has a pet horse, No Lie and she goes everywhere with him. She is a miniature horse but a horse nonetheless. Cassidy ,Molly and Ryder have a wonderful story to tell. I hope you enjoy it like I did.
A very nice read, will look for more of Laurie’s books
Nice story. A Christmas happy ending.
Cassidy is a country singer who’s life is in turmoil. She returns to her family hometown to calm down and recover from surgery and all that has gone on in her life. She runs into Ryder her first love and learns that Ryder has a daughter. Ryder’s daughter wishes for a Christmas bride for her dad. Will Cassidy return to the life of a country singer or make Molly’s wish come true?
A great book.
This book is an inspiration for anyone who has struggled and had to make new dreams come true.
I thought it is a lovely story, almost finished it, very hard to put down. Kept me interested in the story, chapter after chapter.Sometimes a few to many people in at the same time, got confused with the story, but really good. Thank you.
Kind of reminds you of a hallmark movie
Loved this book as well as the entire McCall family series! Highly recommend reading all of them.
Sadly so predictable with shallow characters.
This book should have never been published. It must have been written by an amateur.
Such a heartbreaking story of two people that have loved one another for many years.
Goof
Great inspirational love story.
Characters were not believable even if you are into willing suspension of reality. The 5 year old had language WAY beyond what is typical or even gifted. The end was even more improbable. The angst was completely overdone. I’m rather disgusted that i spent the few hours I did to finish it.
AVERY GOOD AFTERNOON/EVENING READ!
There’s nothing better than a cowboy Christmas love story. Steamy read just in time for the holidays
This was a typical Hallmark-type Christmas story. The characters were likeable. It was an easy fast read.
