Reviews for The Cowboy’s Best Friend:
★★★★★ “I don’t pass out 5 star reviews like candy, but I felt that I had stepped into a real setting with real people and real problems. Nothing felt manufactured in this story and the angst didn’t drag on and on.” – Ballet in AK
★★★★★ “Jessie Gussman gives her readers a bit of adventure, entertaining characters, interesting storylines and clean romance, if you’re interested in these attributes from the books you read, this is a book for you!” – Phyl
★★★★★ “I only lived in North Dakota for two years, but a part of me has missed it ever since. Reading this book reminds me of exactly why.” – Old Dog
★★★★★ “I loved this book. Best friends becoming something more and having to decide how much love is worth. I enjoyed the banter and antics between the two and the musings in their heads. The small town seems wonderful and the other characters mentioned seem great – I can’t wait to read about them in future books!” – Michaela
★★★★★ “If you’re signed up for Jessie Gussman’s newsletters, you already know there’s going to be a lot of humor in her books. This one is no exception. As much as this is a romance, it’s also a story about family values. And don’t forget the humor! I love stories that make me laugh out loud like this one did.” – Brenda

Apart from the surprise Inheritance with unlikely conditions, the story was very life like. Best friends with different priorities trying to sort out their feelings. It is similar to what I imagine others also go through.
I am from ND. I left ND and have gone back rarely even tho I have quite a bit of family still there. The weather extremes are real and help to make the people there some of the best.
I recieved a Audible copy of this story, at my request, in exchange for a honest review.
A heart warming, entertaining friends to lovers story. It shows how Palmer never asks Ames to not go chase her dreams over the years as he slowly had taken over the work of the family ranch and help to care for his grandparents, sister and her small daughter. Palmer always wanted to live his life just as his grandparents, and ancestors before had on this ranch. He had always hoped that one day when he was ready to marry that Ames would be the one. But when all seems to point to selling the ranch, he feels he carries the burden alone. But early one morning in a hospital room with his grandparents he learned the best news he had ever heard. They shared that nothing was worth losing the one you love and all had been making arrangements in case that happened to be the outcome. A weight was lifted and if he could get Ames to marry him, he would go where ever to be with her. A sweet story that will have you loving small town life.
Why yes, cowboys do marry their best friend. Nice to see how a relationship between best friends evolves to marriage. Good story line and character development. Heritage, character, faithfulness are all evident in this sweet and clean romance.
An amazing sweet clean small town best friend romance. This storyline had me addicted from the first page through to the last. It was a wonderful funny intesting journey as you follow Ames trying to set her best friend up so that he can save his family ranch, realizing that Nash and back to small town living is the to be the next chapter in her life and having me on edge to if how it will come together all while Nash is torn between following his family and ranch or foloowing her not wanting to hold her back. This fantastic sweet romance includes, family loyalty and heritage, laughter, competitiveness, integrity, honesty, faithfulness, and a nice twist as best friends become more with great realistic characters and good chemisty. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC.
I had an advance reader’s copy of this book, but this is my honest opinion. I really enjoy reading Jessie’s books, and this one was no exception. The story kept my interest, and the characters were believable.
Palmer and Ames have been best friends for years, but it’s been platonic. She’s traveled the world and she’s even won in the Olympics. Meanwhile Palmer has stayed on the family ranch in North Dakota. One a trip home, Ames discovers that Palmer is seriously and urgently looking for a wife so his best friend sets out to bring some of her friends to meet him. She’s got her heart set on a job in LA. But as the friends pass through, Ames finds that she’s getting jealous and is trying to see how their friendship can survive a marriage. As the book progresses, Ames opens her eyes to all that she would be missing if she gets that job in LA. Another sweet story from Jessie Gussman.
