First baby of the New Year…delivered by a cowboy! When Wyoming cowboy Brice DeWitt placed an ad for a housekeeper-cook at his Flying D Ranch, he expected a sturdy, mature woman—not a petite, pregnant applicant who was about to deliver on his doorstep.Madison Carlyle needed his protection—and his name. But an isolated Wyoming ranch in the middle of winter was no place for a new mother and child. … for a new mother and child. If he let them stay, he risked his heart. But if he sent them away, would he miss his best chance at having the one thing he’d always wanted? A family?

First book I’ve read by this author. Thoroughly enjoyed the book. The characters were great and both had some personal baggage that added to their romance. Great town and community.
Wonderful book! I love the characters and the easy way the book carries the reader through the story. Abbe is a lucky little girl for sure.
This book was fantastic! It starts off getting your full attention with a very pregnant Madison Carlyle showing up for her job as housekeeper/cook at the ranch owned by Brice DeWitt. She’d applied without knowing how to cook but needed to hide and thought a ranch in the middle of nowhere was perfect. When she got there just before midnight on New Year’s Eve, in the middle of a snowstorm Brice thought her car had broken down, never suspecting she was the housekeeper he’d hired. On top of that, she was in labour.
Things happened so fast that Brice had to deliver the baby. Maddy convinced Brice to let her stay. As time went on, she was still worried about being found so she proposed to Brice hoping he would agree and she could stay. He did agree to marry her but made sure she understood it’s only temporary. Because his mother and ex-wife couldn’t handle ranch life and had left, he suspects Maddy will too. To protect his heart he told her it was a temporary relationship.
Brice falls for both mother and baby, not wanting them to leave. Maddy is in love with him too but doesn’t let on. I didn’t want to stop reading this well-written book with its unusual plot. The author did a great job at developing these two and giving us a great story full of love, trust and angst. It was soooo funny whenever a character had to do something they weren’t experienced with – whether it was Brice and the baby or Maddy trying to cook. Brice’s terror of the infant is hilarious. I just broke me up.
This is a great book and I’m so glad I got a copy in exchange for my honest review. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
I enjoyed the writing, the depictions of ranch life and the characters. It was a good read.
Brice and Madison’s story. Very good and thoroughly enjoy this author.
Loved the story pregnant girl lonely cowboy baby and a while later happiness
Loved this book!! Not only was it a good love story but I couldn’t stop laughing at the cowboys and all their sayings!! A really great book!
I really liked this book. It was a romantic distraction during covid. I love a man who is gaga over a baby … and loves the mother’s courage and her drive to do the best for her child.
I love this kind of book
A feel good read
A fun read with great characters. H is manly, loving & overwhelmed when h’s water breaks a short time after arriving in a winter storm. She didn’t think she could be in labor as baby wasn’t due for a few weeks. They draw closer with time as they help each other. She’s there to be his new cook, but doesn’t know how without a microwave. She’s hiding from the parents of her in vitro sperm donor following his death. Nice ending.
The whole story line of a new pregnant housekeeper/cook was a bit unbelievable but this lady took guts to a new level to take a new job/move especially when pregnant. I liked how the author used an aging cowboy to add humor to the story. The Cowboy hero melted my heart when he kept calling the baby ‘Princess’. Also, a life rescue being done by the new Mom flying a plane in the story equaled that of the rescue done by the male cowboy by falling in love with housekeeper. It was a light reading – something we all need during the world’s Pandemic time- we all need a little rescuing.
Love the characters, I hated putting it down.
What a way to start a book wow. I didn’t see that coming. Poor girl just wants to be loved. A man who has shut out love. These two just need love to save each other !
The Cowboy Is A Daddy is a fantastic western romance by Mindy Neff. Ms. Neff has provided readers with a well-written book filled with characters that are fun and lovable. Brice hired a housekeeper/cook and expected her two days ago. Madison’s car broke down and she ended up having to walk the rest of the way to her new job in the snow. Did I mention she’s also VERY pregnant? Madison and Brice’s story is loaded with drama, humor, spice, action and suspense. I loved this book from cover to cover and look forward to reading more from Mindy Neff soon. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read a complimentary copy of this book that I received from Bookfunnel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Heartwarming story. I enjoyed the characters. It was just an easy enjoyable read.
