‘The Cowboy Comes Undone‘ is the first title in the ‘Burlesons of Texas‘ series set in Last Stand, Texas – one amazing little Texas town full of interesting, sexy, quirky residents and lots of love floating around. This is my first introduction to Nola Cross and I like her style, that touch of ‘extra’ that makes Cash and Jade’s romance just a touch unexpected.
Most of what you’d want to know can be found in the Cover Description. I was easily and quickly drawn into this story where Jade’s gift plays a major part, although not always acknowledged by Jade, for to try to explain what she can do would certainly send some folks running in the opposite direction – not what she’s looking for in a business or in life, and certainly not in a developing romantic interest that she’s hoping will stick for the long haul.
My heart was stolen by AJ, loved that little guy so much – just as Cash does, and Jade will. His health is at the forefront of what Jade is willing to risk, even if it means losing the man she’s come to love if he cannot accept her gift as valid and true.
Sometimes we just have to accept that something we cannot see or touch is in fact real – that’s what Cash needs to do, to trust in Jade and her gift even if he doesn’t understand it. Watching his struggle to fit the unexpected into his world while worrying over his nephew and falling in love was an enjoyable journey for me. Jade and Cash simply worked well together, I enjoyed them individually and definitely as a couple. I had fun with ‘The Cowboy Comes Undone‘ and would recommend it to any Romance reader. You’ll find a likable, believable couple, an adorable kid, and the magic called love that ties them all together. Take a chance, pick this one up, and discover this part of Last Stand, Texas for yourself. This is the first story in a three-book series, and I cannot wait for the next one to release.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher, Tule Publishing. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
Let’s once again head back to Last Stand, TX but this time we are venturing into some areas that many folks don’t like to stick their toes into. Or maybe or rather they don’t up and admit it to the public at large… we are talking about someone who has the “gift of the sight to see the beyond”. I personally believe in these folks so I really enjoyed Author Nola Cross’s book that combined Cowboys psychic and of course romance.

This is Jade Mitchell and Cash Burleson’s story.
Jade Mitchell locked her front door and started down the sidewalk toward Main Street, the early April sun like a warm cloak around her shoulders. Today she was heading for Minna Herdmann’s birthday bash, an annual celebration honoring the oldest resident of Last Stand, Texas.
She patted her jacket pocket, double-checking for the stack of business cards she always carried. The downtown district around The Carriage House restaurant would no doubt be packed with well-wishers, shoppers, and
tourists. Today would offer the perfect opportunity to meet prospective clients and pass out a few cards. August Wolf’s new tasting room, Verflucht, might be open by now as well. If it was, maybe she’d stop in and try a glass of his wine after she spent a few minutes with the birthday girl.
Cash Burleson scowled as he slouched in the shade cast by the canvas awning on Jade Mitchell’s booth. There was something off about the massage AJ was receiving from the tall, dark-haired woman. Not that he was any kind of expert on alternative healing methods, but didn’t you have to keep your hands on the client for it to qualify as massage? Instead, she kept pulling her hands away from AJ’s back, like she was being burned or something. The expression on her pretty face seemed strained.
What was going on? He straightened and took a step toward her. “Everything okay, Ms. Mitchell?” He tried to keep his voice calm, almost disinterested, but she startled like a calf being branded.
“What? Oh yes. Everything’s fine.” She threw him a thin, unconvincing smile. Then she turned to face them both and wiped her palms on her pants. “Actually, it’s been a really long day.
The Cowboy Comes Undone by Nola Cross is a 4 star book.

I believe this is my first book by this author and I was suitable impressed This is basically a story of two total opposites who are meant to be together
Jade Mitchell’s life changed when she was involved in a bus crash after suffering concussion her gift of the sight as been activated but as a therapist she knows that this new gift could affect her standing so she keeps quite about it. Cash Burleson loves his nephew AJ a boy who is suffering from severe kidney disease To him the world is black and white and when he is recommended to use Jade’s massage therapy for AJ he is sceptical He would be even more so he if he knew what Jade is really capable of but as the time to get AJ a new kidney shortens she knows she could help but will that turn the man she is falling for away from her Can they have a future when they are so different You will have to read to see
The Cowboy Comes Undone by Nola Cross takes the reader once again to Last Stand, Texas on the fateful day of the tour bus wreck. Like 911 on a small-town scale lives were changed that day. Jade Mitchell’s life change is different from the many who were hurt or lost loved ones but changed, nonetheless. Many years earlier, as a child Cash’s life was also changed, then again when his nephew was born.
There are several surprises in this story including the “gift” that Jade now possesses. It is unusual for me to find cowboys and psychics in the same story. I can think of only one other series that tried that concept. Ms. Cross’ The Cowboy Comes Undone is successful in making the story interesting, intriguing and believable without sacrificing the plot or the romance. Well written; while the other books in the series may not have more appearance of characters with this ability at least Jade will still be around. Best of all so will AJ and hopefully the kittens too.

An ARC of the book was given to me by Tule Publishing which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I read cozy mysteries with the Psychic storylines ,that’s why this one caught my attention from the the blurb,it was a real page-turner for me.I look forward to reading more in this series.
Lucky me, I was given an advance reader’s copy of this book in exchange for my review. This is the first book of The Burlesons of Texas.
Wow did this one keep me turning the pages and I must admit it was Jade’s psychic gift that held me enthralled, how she saw things and then was torn trying to figure out what everything meant, whither to use it, how to use it or just try to hide this part of herself.
I would recommend this book to adult readers and cannot wait to read the other books in this series and I will be on the lookout for other books by this author.
There is definite chemistry whirling around the main characters even though he does not completely trust her. She is struggling with the gift of sight that is beginning to spring forth in her.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
