Juliana’s made up her mind. She wants a baby, and she doesn’t need a man for that. Juliana finds the courage to visit a fertility clinic, as well as courage to answer to family and friends who question her decision. She’s finally pregnant, she has family and friends to love her, and she owns a prosperous little boutique to boot—Juliana’s living just the life she wanted.
Until the one that got away comes back. Juliana loved Seth and lost him at a tender age when a girl’s heart is easily broken. Why on earth is he back in Krysset, and what in heaven’s name is she going to do about it? Absolutely nothing; she’s certainly not going to fall in love with him all over again.
Seth McKellen has a new girl in his life, and she runs the show. Teenaged daughters have a way of doing that. He and his daughter need a fresh start to deal with a tragic loss, so starting over in a new town seems like the perfect idea. Kate Carley returns to the small resort town of Krysset, Minnesota with the new emotionally charged series, Courage of Krysset. With the same stellar writing and the familiar scenery readers loved in A Changing Krysset series, Ms. Carley delivers, in The Courage It Takes, a beautiful love story that reminds us all that love might be possible when we least expect it, if only we’re willing to forgive and accept love as the gift it is. ~Tracy Broemmer, Author of The Mississippi Queen Trilogy
The emotional ride from this book has me on a book hangover. It broke my heart well shattered it would be more accurate. Juliana and Seth had so many miscommunications through out the book and her brother was basically the cause of it though unintentionally. Aft times I just wanted to smack them both and tell them to get it together. I was very disappointed with the ending. I wanted to see how the conversation went with Ava about everything and also further into the future. Amazing book with all the feels! I cried like a baby!
***SPOILER ALERT***
I was so mad when Martha died that I wanted to throw my phone and quit reading. It broke my heart so bad for Juliana and Sawyer. I hope Sawyer gets his happy ending though I’m disappointed it won’t be with Martha.

This was a good read. There were parts that were slow but all in all a good read.
Juliana decides to have a baby, and she doesn’t need a man in her life for that. She’s finally pregnant, and her business is doing well. And then HE shows up in town. She and Seth had a communication issue that caused them to part ways, and her heart was broken. He left, married another woman and had a child, only to move back when his wife died, looking for a better life for his now teenage daughter. And the better life his daughter wants is for him to be with Juliana, no matter how hard he fights it. This book was wonderful, despite how many tissues I went through – a terrific story of forgiveness and second chances. It’s long, but so worth the time to read.

I loved this book. This is an absolutely brilliant book with love, longing, heat, courage, tragedy, heartache, hope rolled into a package which is an absorbing read. The characters were expertly described, dialogue was intelligent storyline had unexpected turns and got me completely engrossed into the events. The story centres round the love and long history between Seth and Juliana, in addition to Seth ‘s daughter Ava, Sawyer, Juliana’s brother and his developing relationship with tragic Martha. Sawyer is such an integral part of this story that I’m really hoping his story will be the second in the Krysset series. The book evoked a lot of emotion, it even made my cry. In the end, everyone’s insecurities and assumptions are alleviated and we get the HEA all romance-readers love. I highly recommend this book which was enhanced by good editing skills and a good eye for detail.

As a result, Seth went back to marry the woman who became pregnant with his child but the marriage was anything but blissful. When an unforeseen accident took his wife’s life, he moved from their home town to give his daughter a change and chance to heal. He never expected that move to put him back into the life of the one woman he had dreamed about for years. Will this be a second chance to have a happily ever after not only for him but his daughter as well?
