The Corner of Heartbreak and Forever was a really good book. I was sucked into Grace and Reed’s story from the start, and I never wanted it to end. I definitely recommend it.
A sweet, clean second chance romance.
The book starts out a bit slower than what I’m used to but the pacing of the romance between Reed and Grace is far from slow. Their romance spans a matter of less than three weeks…well their second chance romance.
In high school, Grace was the quintessential “it” girl. The popular cheerleader with six siblings. Her only form of rebellion was secretly dating the quarterback of their rival high school. Back then, any one who dated or associated with someone from Meadowdale was chastised and bullied. Neither Grace nor Reed wanted that to happen. They dated all of Senior year in secret. Grace went to college.
Grace never forgot about Reed–compared every guy to him. No one compared. It never occurred to Grace that she would run into her ex during her three week stay to teach a screenwriting class at her sister, Amber’s bookstore.
Ten year later, Reed returns to his hometown to help his uncle Roy after his heart attack. Roy and his wife raised Reed. Of course, he would return to help the man with his construction company. Roy taught him everything about restoration and construction. What Reed didn’t know is the last construction job before his uncle returns to work is the Montgomery place. He also didn’t know that Grace was coming home for a visit.
Reed let her go once. He decided he wasn’t doing that again.
Everything about this book is small town living from how everyone is in everyone else’s business to how they help each other out. Grace thought she was running away from the small town living when in reality she was reminded how much she loves it and her family. A very endearing, sweet romance.
Grace and Reed were once together as teens then moved on as adults. They each had their own careers and life until they were called back home for reasons. Grab your copy of this sweet with heat book to find out what happens when they meet again as adults and if their childhood love can be rekindled. This book is a page Turner that keeps you reading until the end
I really liked this book, it was romantic and fun..Grace and Reed have amazing chemistry and while Gracie struggles with making the right choices for her career, Reed is willing to wait for her. Would recommend this book to everyone.
This one provides a excellent escape for a little while with wonderful characters. Grace and Reed do that job in this one with it also being one of those I hope to never but yes you get to. The slow trickle is just the thing that slowly takes you away seeing the path they will go. Wondering if when that bargain is also done if it is able to be stuck too. Almost suspenseful quality in a different way thanks to romance too. Loved the title of this one.
Reed and Grace were high school sweethearts, although they had to keep it hidden because of school rivalries (although more people knew about them than they thought). They get a second chance at romance when Grace goes home for a few weeks, and finds Reed doing work for her parents. Now they can be open about their love, but can they handle the stress of everything, including the unearthing of secrets?
I’ll admit that it took me a bit to get into the story, but once I got to a point I was able to lose myself in the romance of it. Also, can I be part of the Montgomery family? They may be a crazy bunch, but they sure seem to be a wonderful family.
The Corner of Heartbreak and Forever is my new favorite romance. Addison Cole writes the most amazing stories. The characters are so real I expect to meet them on the street. This is a second chance romance. Reed and Grace are so great together. Don’t miss their amazing story.
First love and second chances. Grace and Reed were teenagers sweethearts in the small city of Oak Falls. Although deeply in love and with all their lives ahead of them, each take a different route in life. Ten years later, when Grace is visiting her family for a few weeks, she meets Reed again and the sparks fly. Grace was never able to feel love again since she left Oak Falls, but she couldn´t trust Reed or her own feelings after so many years, a heartbreak and a full life in New York waiting for her to come back. Reed, on the other hand, has always made decisions putting his own wishes last. When life brings him back home after a great disappointment, he decides to rebuilt his life where he always wanted to be. Reed and Grace have a lot to catch up and reliving their teen steps together makes them realize they were always meant to be together. But hard decisions will need to be made in order to make it work….. Only Addison Cole to creat the most lovable book boyfriends!! That´s a book you will easily devour!
‘Embracing Her Heart’ is another Sweet treat by Addison Cole. It was very much worth the wait and I loved learning all about the Montgomery’s.
The story begins when Grace Montgomery returns to her small hometown of Oak Falls to help her sister host a playwriting class. What she doesn’t anticipate her return being, is a trip down memory lane, a place where she is constantly reminded of the life which she left in order to pursue her dreams.
Grace has been unable to settle fully into her life in The Big Apple, and she is unable to find a man who can fill the boots of her teenage love Reed Cross. So when she spots Reed Cross riding a horse, she is unable to control the feelings he stirs within her. She has one question that she is dying to know the answer to…’why did he leave after saying he’d never wanted to?’
Reed Cross has returned home to start anew, after a failed relationship and the sale of his business, he is ready to focus on new projects in the hope of settling down. Once back on his home soil, he is unable to shake the images and memories of one girl he was never fully able to get over…Grace Montgomery.
Reed battles with the pain of his past, determined to get everything out in the open and to rekindle some of the friendship and love he once had with Grace. Despite her hesitancy, he convinces her that what they’d once had, has never really left.
With busy work schedules and a time limit on her visit, Grace is pushed to the max, toying with the idea of whether to stay or go.
I loved the introduction to many new characters in this book and I am excited to learn the other stories of quite a few of the Oak Fall residents. Nana is by far my favourite and i enjoy every moment she is in the books.
I would recommend to all romance lovers and someone who is wanting to get stuck into a well written series.
The Corner Of Heartbreak and Forever is a sweet heartfelt second chance love story by Addison Cole. Grace left home and to go to college and become a play writer/producer and before she left she told her secret boyfriend Reed she did not love him. After ten years later Grace returns home for three weeks and Reed is back home working on her family’s home. Surprise! Life in a small town is totally different then NYC and it has Reed, the love of her life. The Corner Of Heartbreak and Forever is all about second chances with love, sisters and family. I love the relationship and interactions of all Grace’s sisters. I throughly enjoyed reading this book and highly recommend reading it, I received a free copy of this book and have voluntarily chosen to review it.
Grace and Reed are old flames that accidentally meet up again. Grace is determined not to go there. Reed realizes what he’s been missing all along is Grace. So can the man turn her around and get her to trust him again when long ago that trust was broken? As always Addison does not disappoint her book are always excellent and leave you wanting more when you get to the last page!!
What a sweet story! Grace and Reed really make you believe in love at first sight…and second sight. Reed knows he is still in love with Grace from the moment he sets eyes on her again. All he has to do is convince her that she still loves him too. And that shouldn’t be too hard because Grace gets butterflies as soon as she sees Reed. And their kisses would melt the iciest of hearts! Wonderful sweet romance.
Rating: 4.5 Stars
Grace Montgomery may love her siblings but there are just times when they seem to push her buttons. Reed Cross seems to honor commitments. Can we overcome the past? Are second chances possible? Can love be stronger the second time around?
This story packs quite a punch. Grace has come home to find the unexpected – something she thought she’d never find again. Reed is finally willing to go after what he wants. There are so many interesting people that you will meet here. Grace’s sisters help to move the story along. They also show why I don’t feel that this can be considered a standalone.
As I got to know them, even though briefly, I found myself wanting to know more. Some of that may be due to the fact that I grew up with three brothers. I always felt that girls had a special sisterly bond, which I missed out on. So how can you say this is a standalone when you want to know more about the Montgomery sisters?
Grace was a great sister to start with. She’s a woman who has made a name for herself. Reed’s a man who works with his hands – an artist at what he does. They are both creative people that know how to shine but when they become a couple they seem to glow. The author is good about not letting their creativity overtake the real story. You’ll get a sense of a small community as well. People can get lost in the big city but the author shows what people love, and hate, about the smaller towns. A lot of the people that live there always seem to be so friendly and there are a few people in Oak Falls that I want to get to know better.
You can expect moments of laughter. Our author does a great job at writing just the right scene that leaves you no choice but to chuckle. In some cases it becomes hard to do it quietly. Ms. Foster seems to write books where you have no choice but to let your heart get involved. Her characters seem so real. Their emotions may even speak to you – maybe you are going through something similar. For me, I always seem to let the stresses of the day disappear when I read one of her books. The only thing I feel the need to do is to concentrate on the words in front of me. And the ending left me very happy because it was sweet and I got to laugh one last time.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
picture of love and family bonding in The Corner of Heartbreak and Forever. She once again has written a story full of everything sweet and cheerful. This story has a fairytale vibe and I am on love with this story.
Gracie Montgomery has left her small town, big family and childhood sweetheart Reed to pursue her dreams of becoming a famous playwright. She has earned the reputation but over the years she got distanced from her sisters and family due to work pressure. She came back to her home for a break and meets Reed. Reed left town too but he is back to take care of his uncle’s family business. They have unfinished business as Grace wouldn’t have left without Reed if Reed didn’t tell her that he won’t leave this small town ever. But they have history and so much love inside. Gracie realises how much she miss this crazy family and always supportive town people. Reed and Gracie give love a second chance. This story talks about the true power of family and friendship.
I have read the Montgomerys before and I was so excited reading about all the sisters. This small town with its odds and quirks has become like my own. The author writes so earnestly and vividly that I feel like I know this place for real. This sense of familiarity and closeness is the strong point of this story. I love Reed and Grace’s character so much! The story is funny, emotional and so good. There are some ups and downs but nothing too gloomy. I enjoyed reading about the swoony and heartwarming times this couple had.
If I have to describe The Corner of Heartbreak and Forever in one word it will be blissful. It feels my heart with calm and contentment. It makes me giddy with happiness. And that is what a perfect romance story is meant to do!
Can we outgrow our dreams? Once we reach them, do we become dissatisfied or do we reach for new dreams? Grace Montgomery has done it. She’s writing & producing plays in New York. She hasn’t been back to Oak Falls since she left for college. Three weeks off to enjoy being home & not be bothered by work. Grace never felt like she fit in so why is she finding all these happy memories? Only two things are bothering her, the constant calls from New York with problems & her “secret” boyfriend being back in town. He wouldn’t leave town for her but he sure didn’t wait long to leave after she was gone.
Reed Cross can’t believe Grace is back in town & that their chemistry is still red hot. They thought they did a good job covering their relationship when they were teenagers but anyone seeing them today knows what’s going on. Reed hadn’t been able to survive in town surrounded by memories of Grace so he left. Can he survive her leaving a second time?
I loved this book! The siblings relationships were witty, sarcastic, loving & realistic. The interactions between them provided a perfect backdrop for the evolving relationship between Grace & Reed. Coming from a small town with intense rivalries, the idea that they had to sneak around totally made sense. I found this one of the most enjoyable books I’ve read in a long time.
What can I say about this amazing story!
Grace Montgomery, left Oak Falls when she finished high school, and her secret boyfriend Reed behind to start a new life away from cowboy boots, and dirt to take on the big city of NY to follow her dreams! When she comes home for a visit to help out her sister for 3 weeks she has no idea she will once again see Reed, whom she thought had left town, only to realize he’s back here and helping out at her parent’s home.
Their story will take you on a roller coaster of feelings, as well as swoon at Reed!
Grab this book asap, 5 stars and I can’t wait for more books in this one!!!
“Love is supposed to grow stronger, not get easier“.
At first I didn’t think this story would be that emotional but I should have known; Addison Cole never misses a beat!
Young love that was never forgotten. A love story about how much two people can love each other so much that life and years cannot erase how they feel. A powerful story of how a heart can remember the soul that touched it once; how a person can own a piece of another`s heart forever. When you leave something good behind only to discover how amazing it still is years later you`ll never be able to walk away once again. The reality and the tangibility of every single emotions are so well written that I can drown myself in every book that author wrote and relate a little bit to each of her characters. Reed`s story is simply amazing and his love for Grace is so huge it swallows her whole.
The Corner Of Heartbreak and Forever is Second Chance Romance at its best !!!!
It’s been years since Reed and Grace went their seperate ways but that doesn’t mean they still don’t have feelings for each other, both are back in their hometown and seem destined to keep bumping into each other but Reed is back in town for good and Grace is only home for a couple of weeks….
Hot cowboys breaking in wild horses at dawn, characters with sizzling chemistry and plenty of witty banter along with some amazing friendships will keep you turning the pages of this entertaining read.A funny passionate story that captivated me, I was hooked from the first chapter to the very last line. Looking forward to more from Addison Cole.
Grace and Reed’s second chance love story is full of family and emotion. Grace comes home to decompress and reconnects with herself after living several years in NYC and working in the theater business. After a bad breakup and needing to take care of his only family Reed also comes back and for his total surprise Grace literally happens in his life again and it is something that we cannot let go.
These two are romantic at heart and their story is so endearing and has so much fun too! The Montgomery clan is full of joy, trouble and scents! A super great book that you will read it without putting it away.
This was such a fun and sweet second chance story. I couldn’t put it down and I just wanted more and more of Addison’s writing. Grace and Reeds story is so beautiful and you can’t help but fall in love.
