The Corner of Heartbreak and Forever is the embodiment of never forgetting your first love. This second chance romance was so well written and gave me all the feels. An exceptionally EPIC read!!!
I was so happy to reconnect with some of the Montgomery girls. This book follows Grace and Reed as they reunite in their hometown of Oak Falls, Virginia. The small town where they fell in love, and where they left love behind only to find it once again.
“You were my first love, Gracie, and I know that regardless of where we’re living, you’ll be my last.”
If you are looking for a Sweet With Heat read, look no further as I definitely recommend this book. Thank you to the author and Lisa from Tasty Book PR for generously providing me with an ARC of this book. The Corner of Heartbreak and Forever by Addison Cole will join the ranks of BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!
Sweet with a hint of sexy romance that will have readers swooning over this perfect Second Chance Romance. Perfect for a girl’s night in alone.
I found something different with Grace and Reed. I found a second chance with them also. I found them to be more than just another couple that had a past and were now present with the present and possible future. I was able to fall in love with their story, their journey back in to each others lives. All this with family, friends, small town, and no explicit sexuality or language. You find a reason to make sure you pick up the next book of this series. Even if its only to see the next deed one of the feisty Montgomery women would find themselves in. The love. The characters. The setting. Their story. All of this fuels the need to find a quite place to curl up and start turning pages and get to know the next heartfelt romance.
Ms. Cole has done it again. I love second chance romance but lately they have all seemed too alike. Ms. Cole has reminded me once again why I love a great second chance romance and why hers are the best.
I couldn’t help but root for Grace and Reed from the very start. Reed is the perfect book boyfriend we all want and so does Grace, even if she doesn’t want to admit it. Grace needs a nudge to allow herself to give in to her heart but once she does she doesn’t look back.
The world building in Ms. Cole’s series always blown me away and now I’m even more excited to see what will happen next!
The cover of this book really grabbed my eye. This is probably the prettiest of all of Addison’s covers and her books have some of the best covers I’ve seen.
This is a love story of second chances. I have to admit, it took me awhile to warm up to Grace. She wasn’t my favorite heroine. She was a little bit too snotty for me at first, but she grew on me.
Then there was Reed. OMG! Now he was truly THE BEST! I totally fell for him.
These are two people that have a shared secret past but both still long for each other, even though their lives have gone on in very different directions. They both still have feelings for each other and they decide to go with the flow for the few weeks that they will be together to see what happens.
One of my favorite lines from the book comes from Grace’s friend Amber said “I want that!” “I want fireworks. Just once in my life I want a kiss that makes me see stars.” I think most women of a romantic vein are looking for that in their lives. I know I am. That has to be the spot on most accurate statement in any romance novel.
This book was so sweet that it could easily be adapted for a Hallmark Channel movie. That’s a good and a bad thing. Good, in that the characters are so perfect that they fit what you’d expect to find in those movies, and bad because this book is so sweet that it very well may leave you needing a trip to the dentist.
It was probably the only book of Addison’s that didn’t have even a little bit of conflict. Everything came too easily for Grace and Reed.
The best and most heart wrenching…and Halmarky part of the book happened at the end and involved Reed’s family. I don’t want to spoil anything but you might want some kleenex handy when Frank comes back into his life.
This was a wonderful novel. I can’t wait to meet more of the Montgomery family.
Great read that had me hooked right from the start. Plus who doesn’t like a second chance romance. Grace and Reed parted ways long ago, but now both are back in town for the time being. Those flames of attraction flare up once again. They have the same dilemma Reed is staying in the small town and Grace wants to go back to the city. I liked watching them reconnect. The chemistry is great between the characters. You can feel the connection and emotion between them. One of my favorite things about the book is the Montgomery family. They rib on one another, but you can fell how close knit they are. This is definitely a book you don’t want to miss.
What can I say about this amazing story!
Grace Montgomery, left Oak Falls when she finished high school, and her secret boyfriend Reed behind to start a new life away from cowboy boots, and dirt to take on the big city of NY to follow her dreams! When she comes home for a visit to help out her sister for 3 weeks she has no idea she will once again see Reed, whom she thought had left town, only to realize he’s back here and helping out at her parent’s home.
Their story will take you on a roller coaster of feelings, as well as swoon at Reed!
Grab this book asap, 5 stars and I can’t wait for more books in this one!!!
I love a second chance romance. Addison Cole has such an amazing way with words, feelings and imagery! Grace & Reed both needed the time to grow up and we were lucky enough to see their reunion. A must read book!
Second chance romances are my favorites! This is the second chance for Reed and Gracie. Ok, she goes by Grace now but she is truly a Gracie. As a lot of high schoolers think, she wanted to graduate and follow her dreams. By following those dreams she leaves Reed, the love of her life behind. Reed then leaves town, after swearing he never wants to leave. Fast forward a few years and both Reed and Gracie are back in town, as the same time, and of course, can’t help but feel that attraction and love still between them.
I love these two. Their secret high school romance, their living their dreams, and their coming back together. There is no circling each other, no secret rendezvous’ it is just straight out lust, love, and heat between these two. They love each other and they aren’t afraid to show it. Reed tells Gracie to just go with it while showing her that they are meant to be and Gracie is open to going with all that Reed has to offer her.
Pick up The Corner of Heartbreak and Forever, it is sweet, it has heat, and it is amazing!
Grace and Reed have history. It was good at the time but the loss that they both suffered when they headed in different directions to find themselves has impacted them both in many ways. 10 years later and those affects are still blindly affecting them.
When they find themselves back in their home town after getting over the initial shock of seeing Reed, Grace is determined to keep her distance and ignore her racing heart. Reed though has a complete different plan, he knows that he is not over Grace and he is determined to get her to talk with him and see if there is any hope for a love they once had.
It is beautiful and emotional as they spend more time together. Remembering the positives of the past, but learning the new people that they are today. I loved the involvement of Grace’s siblings and the close family feeling throughout the book, even when they are not all in the same town.
This was a good book and I am sure I will venture to more from Addison Cole.
Advanced copy provided in exchange for an honest review.
What a truly lovely, romantic story. Family, home and the reaffirmation of a teenage love, all pull together in a charming tale, in a setting which further serves to reinforce that sense that all is right with the world, as the dominos fall back into place. Reed and Grace are a delight, as is the cast of family and friends. Oh, to live somewhere like this.
This book made me feel happy while I was reading it, and has continued to do so since finishing it. Fabulous xx
Who doesn’t love a second chance romance?! In The Corner of Heartbreak and Forever, Grace Montgomery left for NY to write and produce plays and left behind the only man she’d ever loved because he wasn’t willing to leave Oak Falls. Then she found out that he left home about a month after she left. A decade later, she’s back in Oak Falls for a few weeks to take a break from her hectic life and to teach a screenplay writing class for her sister. Not expecting to see her ex, Reed Cross, Grace is shocked to wake up at the crack of dawn only to find Reed doing construction on her parents porch! While all the feelings she had for him 10 years ago come rushing back, so do the feelings of hurt and betrayal.
Reed couldn’t stand to be surrounded by all the memories of his time with Grace after she left for NY so he moved to Michigan and started a business restoring historic buildings. After being betrayed by his current girlfriend with his business partner, Reed sells his half of the partnership and heads back to Oak Falls to work with his uncle. When he sees Grace, he realizes that she’s still the only women he’s ever loved and he’s not willing to lose her again. He’ll do whatever it takes to make her realize that what they had is something they could have again if she’d just follow her heart.
You can’t help but fall in love with all the characters in Addison Cole’s stories. Definitely looking forward to reading more about the crazy Montgomery family!
Grace is finally taking a much needed break from writing and producing plays in NY to spend time with her family and attend her best friend’s baby shower. What she didn’t expect was to see her old high school sweetheart, and the love of her life, in Oak Falls. Grace knows she is holding on to a lot of hurt over the way things ended but she also can’t deny the feelings for Reed that never dissipated.
Years ago when his highschool girlfriend left for college to pursue her dream as a playwrite and producer Reed was determined to support her dreams. He wasn’t prepared to feel emotionally stripped bare when she left. Everything reminded him of Grace and getting away was the only way to move forward. Reed never planned to leave his home town so moving back has been cathartic and healing. Now working with his uncle to restore homes and old buildings he is finally finding some happiness. Seeing Grace again has only made him realize that his love for her hasn’t diminished at all. Now he must convince Grace that their love is worth fighting for no matter the compromises.
Now living such different lives and in different states, will Reed and Grace be able to find a way to make a life together? Or will the cost and sacrifices be too much?
Such a sweet second chance romance that will have you falling in love with not only Reed but Grace and the rest of the Montgomery sisters. Reed and Grace just happen to be back home at the same time after years of being apart. Grace followed her dreams and ended up breaking two hearts in the process. Now as years have gone by the spark and pull between Reed and Grace is still felt throughout the pages as you read. I love Reed and Grace together. They both have grown so much and learned from the past mistakes which means no more hiding. This is such a sweet read. You will love Reed and Grace so much. I loved every minute of reading this one. I’m hoping for more of the Montgomery sisters. I love this sweet side of Melissa Foster aka Addison Cole.
Another fabulous book!
Grace is a New York producer who has been enjoying her past successes of her shows. She moved away from her hometown to go to New York to follow her passion and her dreams. In doing so, she left her close family behind. However, she went to college with her best friend, so she wasn’t completely alone. But somehow, she felt alone, filling all her spare moments with her current and future projects.
Reed was quarterback on the rival town’s team. From the first moment he saw Grace cheerleading, he knew she was the only woman for him. However, Reed came from a difficult background which he had to come to terms with. He and Grace dated throughout their senior year, but they did so in secret. The bullying and rivalry between town teams was brutal, and neither wanted to cause the other to deal with that. Then, Grace left for college, and Reed’s world collapsed.
Now, 10 years later, Reed has moved back to town and he is helping his uncle (who raised him) with his restoration business. The last project he needed to complete was the porch at Grace’s parents’ place. He is shocked to see Grace who returned to teach a course at her sister’s bookstore for 3 weeks.
This was such a fun book! As always, the characters are so well developed, you can picture them and their reactions and interactions in your mind as you read. The plot moves along fairly well, and a few twists surprised me as I read (no spoilers). I enjoyed watching Reed convince Grace they were always meant to be, and see how romantic he was throughout both their past relationship and their current relationship. I can’t wait for the next sister to fall in love.
I was provided with an ARC of this book and I am providing my honest review. I have received no compensation of any kind from any source for this review.
It’s sweet and heartwarming second chance at romance story. It has all the FEELS and will captivate you from the beginning as it pulls at your heartstrings. You will fall in love with the characters. I love the connection, the banter and sparks between the characters. A beautiful love story that is well written, entertaining and not to be missed. Highly recommended.
I love second chance romances, and this book is one that I loved. Addison Cole has done a wonderful job developing the main characters, Grace and Reed, that you feel like you really know them. This book is so heartwarming. So much can change, but so much stays the same. After being so in love when they are in high school, but then going their seperate ways, when they come across each other again years later, it is not just a spark still there between them. It is hot, fiery flames. There is also such sweetness and fun. I really loved and enjoyed reading this book, so I highly recommend it.
This is the story of Grace Montgomery and Reed Cross. As teenagers, they fell in love but kept their relationship a secret because they went to rival high schools. Grace had great plans as a teenager to leave their small town and move on to bigger and better things and Reed wanted to stay put. He encouraged her to go and follow her dreams and shortly after she left for college, he also left town.
Fast-forward many years later and Grace has returned home for a few weeks to take a slight break from the stress and non-stop work from her job in New York City as well as to help her sister and spend time with her family and unknown to her – Reed is also back in town, having moved back home a few months earlier.
As soon as they first see each other, sparks immediately fly but also the hurt from their past relationship and breakup. This is a wonderful story as you follow Grace and Reed as they rediscover their love for each other, now as adults, working to overcome their trust and relationship issues as well as how they can possibly maintain a relationship as Grace’s time back home is limited and she is expected to return to NYC and her job and its responsibilities. I LOVED this story…. you immediately fall in love with both Grace and Reed and your heart aches for them as they fight the demons from their past that continue to haunt them as well as they fight for each other and the love that has never truly ended from when they were teenagers.
Once you start this story – you will not be able to put it down… you want to read it as quickly as possible because the story is so entertaining but, at the same time, you don’t want it to end.
Grace and Reed have a history, a “secret” history because they are from rival towns. They broke up years ago when Grace moved out of town so when they both end up back home to help family, all those old feelings resurface. They try to ignore them but the attraction is strong. There’s hurt and misunderstanding to work through so they can find their way back to each other. Another hit from Addison Cole! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving my review.
The Corner of Heartbreak and Forever by Addison Cole
What a really sweet second chance romance. Great story. Recommend.
Grace and Reed~
Grace writes and produces plays in New York. She takes three weeks off and heads to her hometown,Oak Falls. Reed finds out Grace is back in town. These two have hot chemistry since they were teenagers.
