Great book
Good read!
Great book! So glad it’s part of a series!
I really loved this storyline and characters. Thought it was excellent.
The Coppersmith Inn farmhouse brings two people together who really need each other. Gigi looking for a place to settle with her daughter unexpectedly inherits the Farmhouse. Jess who has been looking after the farmhouse for many years, investing not only his time but his money to improve it realizes that Gigi ‘stole’ it out from under him when she inherits it.
The book is a heart warming, sexy romance with a little suspense thrown in for excitement. Devney will introduce many of the characters from the Jamison Valley series in this first book and through her storytelling, she compels you to read their stories next.
FYI: I picked this book up after reading The Candle Palace, which is book 6 Jamieson Valley series. Many times an author says they can be read as stand, and I agree that Devney’s can, but you will want to go back and meet all the others from this valley like I have.
I adored this book! I couldn’t put it down!
*3 Stars*
I really struggled through the first, at least, half of this book. I haven’t read many books by this author, but the ones I have read, I had loved, so I was a little disappointed that I wasn’t enjoying this one quite as much.
I think my main issue was the hero, Jess. He’s way too bossy, and walks all over Gigi. I mean, she lets it happen as well, but she does have moments where she stands up to him. Jess is a good guy, he’s jut too overbearing for me. In terms of the way he would push things and what he said goes kind of thing.
I did like Gigi, and Rowen was fabulous as well. Maisy was a cool secondary character in this story as well, and I would love to see her get a HEA. There’s a mystery in the background of the story as well, and I did not pick who the culprit was. That last part of the book was the best part, and I enjoyed that much more than the first. Lots of things happening there, never would’ve picked them.
I will continue this series, I think for me, it was a personal issue with the character or the hero in this book. Nothing against the authors writing or anything like that.
This is my first Devney Perry book and I am a fan! I love how strong Gigi is as a person and Jess just taking what he wanted. Jess’s relationship with Rowan, Gigi’s daughter, from the very beginning melted my heart. This book was hot, suspenseful and so sweet. I just couldn’t get enough of Gigi and Jess!
Oh My Gosh Amazing!!
I’ve had this book for a while and just got around to reading it. This story was so good. Lots of romance, some suspense, a mystery and hot alpha sheriff.
If your on the fence about reading this one don’t wait any longer it’s so worth it.
Fantastic story. The chemistry between Jess and Gigi is combustible and burns up the pages. The banter between the alpha male, protective, sheriff and the tough as nails, single mom, nurse is so good and was definitely one of my favorite things about this book. The running back ground suspenseful themes was interesting and made this so much more than a romance (although nothing wrong with romance lol) all tired up with a nice HEA now.
I absolutely loved this book and did it in a few days. The characters are amazing – funny, fiesty and so loveable. I’ll be diving right into the next book.
This was truly a magical heart felt book. Loved the flow of the book and the fact that Georgia is a strong leading lady and has her own mind. Great start to this new series i have read from this author.
Georgia ( GiGi) and her daughter Rowan moved into her new Farmhouse that belonged to her dear friend Ben , she knew her life would change but little did she know the care taker of the house would be the biggest part of the change.
In enters care taker/ Sheriff – Jess!
So much angst and tension but also so much mystery and suspense as well.
Loved these characters!
Love love this book. I didn’t want to put it down. Very entertaining!!!
Loved this story, can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
By now I’ve read and loved several books of Devney Perry. She is fast becoming one of my favourite authors. A good reason to check out more of her work. This time around I’m starting at the beginning, the first book she has ever written.
I enjoyed reading this book, but not as much as I did the others. There where some things that bothered me. Especially at the beginning of the book. Luckily things got a lot better towards the end.
What I like a lot is the setting of Devney Perry’s books. It is so majorly different from where I live that it refreshing to read. I’m looking forward to return to the Jamison Valley in the next books.
I love books based in a small town and this book was no exception. I love how the author described the town and the outskirts of the scenery. Jess and Georgia were such a lovely couple and Rowan was adorable. I can’t wait to read more about this town and their people! So glad I found this author!
The story-line is filled with twists, intrigue, romance and humor. There are sensual scenes which fit the story and love between Gigi and Jess. Their lives were so different and youth filled with heartache but somehow they found each other in Jamison Valley. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the rest of the series.
This is a new author for me and I have to say, I am a fan. The book cover is what caught my eye but the story was exceptional. Very glad I took a chance on this book.
Good read with some surprising characters.
