London
1907, twenty years into the zombie Plague
Reuben is a baker living in the slums of London, sharing a room with his father and an extended family of cockroaches. Poor, uneducated, and repressing all his sexual desires, he leads a life of misery, only sometimes sprinkled with gin and a rough tumble in a filthy back alley.
But when he is abducted into Bylondon to be the slave of a wealthy … to be the slave of a wealthy crime family member named Erik Dal, his values are put to the test. His new master is obsessed with all things equestrian, and Reuben soon learns that if he obeys and performs well as Erik’s horse, he might just get everything he yearns for: pampering, foods he never even dreamed of, and shameless sex with a demonically handsome young man in leather riding boots.
As Copper, Erik’s treasured dun stallion, Reuben must submit to his new master’s obscene fancy of possessing another man completely. That is, if he yearns for treats and not the lick of a riding crop. Fake tails, harnesses, and a new haircut to his ginger mane help Reuben transform into Copper, but the fear of losing his dignity in the eyes of society might just prove to be a bigger restraint than any bit, bridle, or handcuffs.
All that for the small price of his freedom. Though at times, Reuben feels it’s his soul that Erik is after instead.

What reviewers say:
“If you are a true fan of ponyplay and had always wished to get more than a glimpse of it from the books you read, then you will love this one for sure. Not only did it not shy away from the subject, it stays focused on it as well. This point alone already made it a rare gem.” – Kynthos (Morbid Obsession)
“I loved every minute I spent reading this book.” – Gabbi (Top2Bottom Reviews)

Wow! This was the first book I’ve ever read that was a) Strictly Gay and b) Pony Play. And you know what? I thought it was awesome! Add to that some freakin’ ZOMBIES and you’ve got me hooked, man!
I am a very happily married woman and I love my husband, AND I’m not ashamed to say that this book totally turned me on.
Personally, I’ve never tried out pony play before and I don’t think it’s really my thing but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy this topic. I mean it’s about all the emotions and exploration and anticipation for the characters too, right?
The fact that it was set in the early 1900’s, London was an excellent touch.
REUBEN – OMG, poor Reuben. He lives practically in the gutter and works for his pr**k of a father in a bakery. What ingredients they use for the pies etc. though? Well, you don’t wanna know.
Since the plague broke out twenty years ago, the world has gone to shit and people are starving and being poisoned by the toxic air. There’s not really much to smile about anymore. He and his father even locked his mum in a room after she turned zombie as they were unable to “put her down”. The police had to come to do it for them.
Reuben is a young man struggling with his sexuality and going about finding men in an extremely dangerous way in his desperate need to keep his “depraved” feelings a secret. He’s had a few rough introductions to sex but nothing could have prepared him for Erik.
Trusting someone he really shouldn’t, leads Reuben to be captured by some bad dudes in Bylondon (a wealthy area outside of London) and almost sent into some kind of zombie vs human fight cage. Fortunately (or not?) he is saved by a leather-wearing weirdo who is looking for a new slave.
ERIK Holy s**t! Where do I start with Erik? You’re gonna hate him. Then you’re gonna love him. Then you’re gonna hate him again, lol.
He was looking for a new “stallion” and is quite taken with Reuben (now called Copper due to his lovely red hair). He’s also gay. Something that usually was just not tolerated in those days. Unless you are from an extremely wealthy and powerful family.
So he brings home this young man, cleans him up and feeds him. And then…the training begins.
Erik is very particular in his wants. And he can afford to be. His family is extremely wealthy and he himself is an expert forger.
He has a household full of slightly “different” people and no expense is spared in Copper’s training to become a stallion as well as satisfying him sexually.
Things get intense freakin’ fast in this book and I loved it. Reuben really struggles with what he desperately wants and what he’s been taught to believe is wrong and disgusting.
Erik seems to be like some kind of sick monster with skin as thick as a rhino’s but it maybe there’s more to him, huh?
SEX SCENES – They were great! As a woman, I feel kind of sad that I don’t have that same sweet spot for anal that guys do but then again, we do have the clit! And anal still feels good!
The sex scenes were graphic and hot y’all! Especially the fancy wee horse thing with rubber knobs, lol. Rocked ma wee socks off 🙂
FINAL THOUGHTS – The only thing I will say is that the middle of the book tended to drag on a little without any action in the story. But other than that I thoroughly enjoyed it.
There wasn’t much about the zombies though, that was definitely not the main focus of this book.
The other characters were really great and my heart goes out to Jack in particular. He’s this boy that Erik employs to be Copper’s groom.
The end really had me wanting to buy the next in the series, and so I did!
