Nate Hansen needs to change his ways from women, drinking and fighting. He needs a job. Someone mentions that widow Joy Mitchell is desperate for a ranch hand. Right up Nate’s alley but he’s a little shocked when it turns out he had to sign a contract to marry her. I great standalone with a HEA!!
Now my pact to finish books may be called into question here, but technically I read three pages of this before realizing it was book 2 in a series…so technically it counts! But I don’t have that excuse for book 3 because I don’t own it. Oh well! I’ll have to wait.
Nate needs a job. Joy needs someone to help her stand up to her late husband’s father to protect her ranch for her toddler. Despite Nate’s well earned reputation for fighting, drinking, and sleeping around, his new commitment to getting his act together is a point in his favor. The fact that Joy’s lawyer is Nate’s sister-in-law might sound like a conflict of interest, but Sadie manages to balance her friendship with Joy with her trust in Nate’s change of heart. While Joy’s FIL does everything he can to try and steal her ranch and ruin reputations, Joy and Nate have to decide if their marriage of convenience is really the second chance they both deserve. And how about that cute toddler!! Happy Reading!
Great book!
Really sweet. Very entertaining. Enjoyed the whole story.
Lovely Story
This is inevitable those stories that couples help each other out but true happiness. Nate is trying to find a full time ranching job and show that he changed. Joy is trying to keep her ranch running after her husband died and her father in law turned into a bigger bully. She was looking for a husband, in walks Nate. HEA.
Unexpected.
I did find the plot a bit hard to believe, but the writing was great, making it a quick, fun read.
A sweet story with a lot of real-world issues in the mix. A good read.
Enjoyed it. Great read.
Evil father in law tries to ruin life of his sons widow. She gets new life.
Recommend this book.
This book deals a lot in the characters’ perceptions of themselves as well as how others view them. It’s a well written story and a sweet marriage of convenience romance!

Great read
An absolutely delightful story. Inspiring in the sense that for all evil much more goodness exists in the world. Sweet scenes that make the heart expand with gratefulness for heroes without capes living among us.
I missed these characters when I finished the book! Might have to read it again…
Great book!!
I love the story and Nate & Joy! Her father in law is such a jerk and the things he does to Joy and then Nate are reprehensible! It’s a sad story with a very happy ending. Loved it.
A wonderfully entertaining read! I couldn’t put this book down.
