From New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Rachel Van Dyken.Reid Emory has never had reason to question his luck with the ladies. I just can’t get enough of this series and the characters. I want to be friends with them. They’re so much fun. I’m in the middle of getting ready for movers and packers to come so that we can move back across the country. This is the perfect series to read while taking a short break. Instead of getting all stressed out over everything I have to do, I read a chapter and start laughing my butt off.
This is the third book in the Consequence series. You don’t have to read them all, but I highly suggest that you do. You won’t be disappointed, trust me. If you need some good laughs, read these!
I love Reid and Jordan. I really love Jordan. I think just about everyone can connect with her. Everyone has felt invisible at some point, probably not to the extent she was, but you’ve felt it, you know you have.
Leave it to Max to stir up some trouble. I wonder what he will do in the next book. I feel so bad for Jason. He is always getting hurt somehow.
The Consequences of Seduction is the third book in the Consequences Series. Each book can be read as a standalone but I have read them all and you will want to also. This is Reid’s story and I met him back at The Consequences of Loving Colton, and that was the start of this crazy ass but hilarious ride of a series.
Reid has always had girls swoon all of over him but he was no expert of the way of seduction. He has never asked anyone on a date, they just happen, and that lends to more. Not much more since he doesn’t want to commit but he hadn’t met her yet. Jordan was unexpected and with a Fairy Godmother on her side, she just might get the happily ever after she wasn’t even looking for…
Jordan was invisible. She has been for her entire life. She wasn’t the girl that everyone stopped in the street to watch walk past them. She was the girl they ran into on the street because they didn’t see her. She was used to it and it was good for her job, she could stand in the shadows of her clients. Then, there was the client that she wanted to be noticed by. Reid Emory. But she had no idea that she was about to get tied up in the web of crazy that surround him and his friends but especially his brother Max. He was certifiable…
As it turns out, Reid needed Jordan to not only be his publicist but also the shrew he had to tame. It would help his career right along with hers if they can pull it off. But when lines get blurred, Jordan isn’t sure if he is seducing her for their careers or if it was real. And Reid doesn’t know if Jordan was just going with this sort of crazy because he is her client or because she actually enjoys being around him. And this makes them a mess, in the best way. Would Reid see Jordan after their time is up or would she go back to be completely invisible to him?
I so needed this book in my life today! The last few books I have read were intense which was awesome but now I needed some crazy laughs. Reid is the more serious brother of the two Emorys but still fun as hell and knows how to play dirty. I was so excited when I found out he was getting his own story, he was amazingly fun in the last two books. I thought it was great that he is so swoon-worthy but deep down he was shy and really didn’t know how to seduce a woman outside of the bedroom. Then there is Jordan, she is a hot mess with wild hair that could really have its own book. Ha. She really is kick ass especially since she can hold her own against Max. Together, Reid and Jordan have some awesome banter, crazy sexual tension, and create some amazing moments.
Did I fall for Reid? Yes. Am I still in love with Max? Yes!! There is something about his crazy mind that gets to me. And that crazy mind of his does make him a genius when it counts.
Overall…I laughed my ass off, made me want to watch some Disney movies, and love this nutty group of friends even more. I can’t wait for Jason’s story, that poor accident prone man.
Quotes:
Seriously, she needed to get ahold of that hair before it took over the world. Max would be pissed if someone ruined his plans.
“It was a nice try . . .” This time I patted her hand. “Really, you had me believing I was a magic orgasm-giving unicorn.”
“Damn, I may despise you, but your taste in shoes is incredible.”
***And because my girls start selling soon…
“Girl Scout cookies,” Reid explained. “Legal crack.”
The consequence series is one of the funniest series I’ve ever read. Max is hilarious and I can’t get enough of him. This book is about Reid, Max’s brother and his love story with his publicist.
“It was the way he looked at me, for just one brief moment in my existence, like maybe I wasn’t the girl the guy passed over, but the one he searched for. ”
Reid Emory is so swoony in this book. If you’ve read the other books, you may remember Reid from his incident with grandma. He was comedic relief in Milo and Colt’s story and Jason’s entire wedding weekend. He and Max are hilarious pranksters who try to one-up each other every time they get the chance. So when Max bets Reid to have a relationship longer than a week, Reid does what any normal guy would do and goes to a bar to pick up a woman. Little did he know it was his new PR rep, Jordan. After yet another Max prank, the two begin to fake date. Reid wins her over with his charm and overall amazing outlook.
“Lights-off girl? Hell, no. You’re a spotlight girl. You just need to stop looking through your eyes and use mine.”
Jordan was an amazing heroine. She reminded me so much of myself in some aspects. The invisibility thing was so heartbreaking to read. Not the actual acts of it, but how used to it she was. She was so used to blending in, she didn’t realize she was the spotlight all along. Her growth in this book is one of my favorites and I so love her. Her ability to match with Max, fit in with the girls, and spin every insane story into something good for Reid is a talent I envy. She was the perfect addition to this story
Rachel Van Dyken has once again proven why she is one of my favourite authors! I have loved everything she has written up until this point and this book is no exception.
I love the description and details added into every character to make them each unique in their own way. Reid and Jordan are two extraordinary characters who had me holding on to every word they spoke.
Although at first glance this synopsis and story may sound similar to something you have read before, you are definitely wrong. This book is not only unlike anything I have read before, it contains a captivating storyline I’ve never even wanted to read about before.
If you pick this book up, you definitely will not regret it!
4.5/5 Stars!
Reid, how do I describe Reid? He’s just as crazy, and looney as his brother Max, I say this in a good way people but he is bats*** cray cray and his thoughts tend to run on the more carnal side, “her legs wrapped around my waist and suddenly she was kissing me on the mouth , then hopping down before my body had time to register that the gorgeous woman had all but pressed her goodies against mine. “You’re the best!” Wait! My body tightened. I should at least get sex out of the deal, right?” I’m thinking that Jordan doesn’t mind the selection of Reid’s underwear, “He winked, dropping his pants to the ground, then tossing them in the corner. Well, just another thing to be amazed about. The man didn’t wear boxers. Or briefs. Or anything. “So you never wear underwear?” I enjoyed this book these boys can be mental in the head but you couldn’t help but love them
Another laugh-out-loud book from Rachel…I just completely adore this series! These crazy, quirky, fun characters never fail to cheer me up…I want to be friends with them all!
This book had me smiling from the first sentence, and the smile never left my face. That’s what I love about this series- it’s nonstop fun from the first page to the last.
