After losing his best friend to another guy, the notoriously too-confident Max Emory suddenly feels lost. He may have devastatingly good looks, an abundance of charm, and a claim to one of the biggest hotel empires around, but he has no ambition anymore. So when his fed-up friends decide they’ve had enough of his moping, they sign him up to be the next bachelor on the reality series Love Island. … Island. And between his pride and his forged signature on an ironclad contract, Max just can’t say no.
Now he’s stranded in paradise with twenty-four women, one terrifying goat, and Becca, the breathtaking barista who already turned him down back home. The closer Max gets to Becca, the more determined he becomes to win her over. As she gets to know him better, things start heating up. But is Becca really after Max’s heart—or is she after the cash prize she could claim once the cameras stop rolling?

The consequence series is one of the funniest series I’ve ever read. Max is hilarious and I can’t get enough of him. This book is about Reid, Max’s brother and his love story with his publicist.
“It was the way he looked at me, for just one brief moment in my existence, like maybe I wasn’t the girl the guy passed over, but the one he searched for. ”
Reid Emory is so swoony in this book. If you’ve read the other books, you may remember Reid from his incident with grandma. He was comedic relief in Milo and Colt’s story and Jason’s entire wedding weekend. He and Max are hilarious pranksters who try to one-up each other every time they get the chance. So when Max bets Reid to have a relationship longer than a week, Reid does what any normal guy would do and goes to a bar to pick up a woman. Little did he know it was his new PR rep, Jordan. After yet another Max prank, the two begin to fake date. Reid wins her over with his charm and overall amazing outlook.
“Lights-off girl? Hell, no. You’re a spotlight girl. You just need to stop looking through your eyes and use mine.”
Jordan was an amazing heroine. She reminded me so much of myself in some aspects. The invisibility thing was so heartbreaking to read. Not the actual acts of it, but how used to it she was. She was so used to blending in, she didn’t realize she was the spotlight all along. Her growth in this book is one of my favorites and I so love her. Her ability to match with Max, fit in with the girls, and spin every insane story into something good for Reid is a talent I envy. She was the perfect addition to this story
There was lots of humor in this book, there’s always humor in Rachel’s books it’s what make me come back for more. Max and Becca always seem to have interesting conversations:
“I pointed at his pants. “Right, well, tell your parts to paralyze so people don’t think ropes and balls turn you on.”
“What?” He looked up and let out a defeated sigh. “I can’t help that Edward wants to be free. I would too. It’s okay, little buddy.”
Add Reid into that mix and it gets personal, “not a humble bone in that body, is there?” Reid asked seriously. “And I meant the whole underwear situation. You gonna free-ball it during your date? Because I sure as hell wouldn’t take that chance, not with Becca wearing white.” Would I describe Max as a handsy type of guy… maybe only where Becca is concerned, “I’ll make it brief, so at the end of the night? You better be ready to pay up . . .” He pinched my ass. “Because I’m collecting.” I’m hoping Reid is next
Crazy fun with everyone’s favorite best friend
Max got the short end of the stick and turned mopey. He was couch surfing and generally draining his friends. So they set him up for a reality tv dating show/ survivor.
Max,with no clear goals in mind, went albeit reluctantly.
Enter 25 girls who want money and or a sexy man. So hell on Earth, right?
Crazy shenanigans prevail because this group is a magnet for trouble…Just ask Reid about Grandma. Oh and there are Minions too
This is the second book in the Consequence series. If you want something that will have you laughing out loud, you need to one-click this series. I have loved every book that I’ve read by Rachel. I’m catching up on older books that I haven’t read yet. I’m kicking myself for not reading them sooner. I do suggest you read them in order, you don’t have to, but if you read book 1 first, you’ll get a lot more interaction between Milo and Max and you’ll see their friendship.
Jason is so going to get it from Max. I can’t wait to see the revenge. I’m excited about it.
This book takes place on an island, it’s a reality dating show. Yup, there are crazy women, lots of them. There’s also an oompa loompa, an underwear eating goat, a crazy brother and cameras!
I really liked Becca. She was in it for the money. She had to pay for college somehow. But things changed.
Her and Max fit though. She gets him.
This is a must read!
