The Confectioner’s Guild
A magic cupcake. A culinary killer. The perfect recipe for murder.
Wren knew her sweet treats could work wonders, but she never knew they could work magic. She barely has time to wrap her head around the stunning revelation when the head of the prestigious Confectioner’s Guild falls down dead before her. Poisoned by her cupcake.
Now facing murder charges in a magical world she doesn’t understand, Wren must discover the true killer or face the headsman’s axe. But when her search for clues leads to a deep-rooted conspiracy that goes all the way to the top, she realizes that the guild master isn’t the only one at risk of death by chocolate.
If Wren can’t bring the powerful culprit to justice, she and her friends will meet a bittersweet end.
The Confectioner’s Coup
Wren thought things were bad when her boyfriend’s father tried to frame her for murder. But that was before a hostile army showed up at the city gates, ready to swallow Maradis whole. And before guild members began disappearing one by one–including the Confectioner’s Guild’s newest Gifted recruit.
Wren, suspecting the king is to blame for the disappearances, undertakes a dangerous investigation that sets her on a collision course with old and new enemies alike. Will she be able to find the missing guild members before tensions boil over into outright rebellion? Or are the guilds willing to go further than she ever realized to rid themselves of the king’s tyranny…
The Confectioner’s Truth
A deadly new enemy rules Alesia with an iron fist–and an unnatural interest in the magic of the Confectioner’s Guild. Betrayed by one of their own, Wren and her few remaining allies flee Maradis to secure whatever aid they can find.
But new dangers and old ghosts lurk around every corner, forcing Wren to confront truths she thought she’d buried deep long ago. Will Wren be able to piece together an alliance, and enough of her own shattered heart, to take back her home from those who hold it hostage? Or will her magic prove too tempting a morsel for her enemies to refuse…
The Confectioner’s Exile
Hale Firena has everything–looks, money, power, more girls than he knows what to do with. But in one night everything changes, as a bloody coup turns Hale into a penniless refugee on the run for his life.
Hale’s not cut out for real life–the thought of holding down a real job is almost more horrible than the pirates and bandits chasing him. Is Hale’s swagger enough to see him to safety, or has his luck truly run out?
Read the story of Hale Firena before he joined the Confectioner’s Guild in this Confectioner Chronicles prequel novella.

A great series about luck. In the Confectioners Guild, Wren is a simple confectioner who gets the chance of the lifetime that comes with a terrible price when the guildmaster is killed and she is blamed for it. In the Confectioners Coup, an army arrives on Maradis and guildmasters start mysteriously disappearing and Wren and her friends search for the truth. In the Confectioners Truth, a new enemy rules over the land and Wren and her friends go on the run trying to flee the new regime. Can Wren and her friends survive it all
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldn’t put down. Well developed characters like Wren wanting to belong somewhere or Lucas’ kindheartedness or the humourous Hale or the stern Callidus.
A brilliant example of world building in a fantasy world with its rules and societies and geography and history that was detailed with care for the audience to imagine. The idea of magic bakers was a fun and fantastic idea and was a brilliant addition to the fantasy genre. The passion for baking in Wren was a lovely touch. Fast paced action and high stakes in a wonderful fantasy world made for a captivating read. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars

The Confectioner Chronicles: The Complete Fantasy Mystery Series contains all the instalments of The Confectioner’s Chronicles by Claire Luana. This is a really wonderful, imaginative and beautifully written series- with fantasy, mystery, magic, intrigue, adventure, danger, suspense, humour, fun, heartache, tension, conflict, hostile enemies, disappearances, investigations, romance, food, surprises, twists, drama, and action. I have adored all Ms. Luana’s books, and this series is no exception! She really knows how to weave a spellbinding story that hooks her readers right from the beginning.
The series consists of:
-The Confectioner’s Guild (Book #1)
-The Confectioner’s Coup (Book #2)
-The Confectioner’s Truth (Book #3)
-The Confectioner’s Exile (Prequel Novella)
The characters are so beautifully crafted- quirky, fully realised individuals who continued to develop and grow over the course of the series. They were so enchanting and added an extra element of appeal and interest to the whole story.
Ms Luana has created a unique and wonderful world in which to set her story. Her imagination seems to know no bounds as she brings so many creative and unique elements to her storylines. It’s so wonderfully written- full of visual texture and intricate detailing. The story is complex- with many layers, all beautifully interwoven and stitched together quite seamlessly to produce these delightful reads.
All I can say is WOW- this series is well worth the read!
Thank you, Ms. Luana!
I have truly loved every single book in the Confectioner Chronicles so far. I am all the way up to the fourth book and was so excited to find out that there is a box set with all these gems together for me to snag. I also grabbed a few for some fellow reader friends of mine. Below is the review of each book I have had the chance to devour so far. I am off to dive into the fourth book right now! Happy reading!
The Confectioner’s Guild (The Confectioner Chronicles, #1)
Enchanted & cloyingly sweet! I absolutely loved every second I spent with Wren! Claire Luana was a completely new author to me, but I can assure you this will soon be remedied. I have become enthralled with the magical writing skills that she possesses. First, I must start with this amazing cover. I was drawn in with its beautiful colors and enchanting design. Who wouldn’t want to find out what lays behind that? Given I hadn’t known the author previously, I simply went in blind, and wasn’t I pleasantly pleased!
Do not be fooled however. This isn’t so sweet and wholesome as it looks. Hence my cloyingly description. Wren is the very best of bakers. She enjoys what she does and it comes out in her baking. She loves being in her little corner of the world making her masterpieces. Unfortunately, when the Guildmaster calls you must oblige. So oblige she does. This is where things go a bit awry. As mentioned in the teaser his is poisoned and she is to blame! Why would simple and sweet Wren poison the Guildmaster!?
Well this has left her in a tortuous bind. She has merely ONE month to collect her proof that she did not commit the crime she has been accused of or else… To make matters worse she has no alliances and no family now when she needs them the most. What will she do? The journey she will take will be sure to keep you engaged and entertained well beyond your bedtime. I know it did for me. I absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on the next book, ‘The Confectioner’s Exile.’ Thanks so much for such a fantastic read Claire Luana!
The Confectioner’s Coup (Confectioner Chronicles, #2)
I have to say first and foremost that the covers that accompany the series of the Confectioner Chronicles are just stunning. In fact it was the cover of the first book, The Confectioner’s Guild, that first drew me into this series and sucked me into the world that Wren lives in. Like I have mentioned this is a series and The Confectioner’s Coup is the second book. I would read the first book as well as the prequel,The Confectioner’s Exile.
I could sit and talk about this book all day. Both storyline and reasons why I loved it. Each one of these books have progressively gotten better than the one before it and this one was not exception to the rule. The Confectioner’s Coup had a bit of it all; mystery, intrigue, suspense, fantasy, and just a sprinkle of romance to top it all off.
The story picks up about a month from where it left off in the last book. Wren faces more trouble in her life just as she finally gets herself out of the mess she found herself in in book one. (That detail would be a spoiler if you don’t read book one.) The King is back and still wreaking havoc. And best of all… there is another perfectly timed cliffhanger that will leave you hungry for that third book, The Confectioner’s Truth, I know I am. Thanks for another great read Ms. Luana.
The Confectioner’s Truth (Confectioner Chronicles Book 3)
The Confectioner’s Truth is the final book in The Confectioner Chronicles by Claire Luana. It is the final gorgeous cover and the final magical visit that we will get and I am so book depressed. When I first started this series a few months ago I immediately got swept up into this world that Luana had created so vividly and I have been enamored ever since. The way these covers scream magic and adventure the story lives up inside with an incredible world-building. I almost felt as if I was within the novel itself, something I absolutely love.
The magic, action, and adventure continues for Wren a couple weeks after the second book, The Confectioner’s Coup. I would highly recommend that you read these books in order, including the prequel because this is as mentioned a finale to a series. We meet a lot of new characters, get some new romances, unexpected tears, and a conclusion to remember. I can’t wait to see what will come next from Claire Luana! I am sure it will be outstanding.
The Confectioner Chronicles is a four-book series by author Claire Luana.
Wren is a confectioner apprentice working in a confection shop. When a mysterious man shows up asking questions about her cupcakes, she is unsure of who he is or what she wants. Reluctantly she goes with him to meet the GuildMaster and thrown into a world she never knew existed and discovers an ability she never knew she possessed.
But when the Guild Master is poisoned after eating of her cupcakes, she only has a limited time to prove her innocence and find out who really framed her before the king’s inquisitor arrives.
With this, Wren learns more about herself as overcomes the obstacles that are put in her way.
This is an interesting fantasy filled with mystery story with many twists and twists as well as fun characters.
Being such a wild ride, the reader will be hooked from the beginning.
The series The Confectioner Chronicles is a great Ya series by Claire Luana. Claire Luana has an imagination that you can see clearly while reading her books. This series has been created in a world that food has become part of the magic in this world. There is an underlying theme of trust (with magical desserts to help). There is mystery, fantasy, magic, danger, secrets, and skeletons in the closet to go around. The stories take you on a wild ride. I recommend to set enough time to read the stories in one setting. So sit down relax with your favorite beverage, favorite comfy clothes, and a favorite blanket and enjoy Claire Luana’s The Confectioner’s Chronicles.

5 stars
I absolutely loved this collection of stories!! They were so magical with a good amount of suspense and along with it some fantastic plot twists and turns. I really liked the characters and I loved reading about them. One of the things I loved about this series is how unique it was and I loved the author’s writing. The stories were written it in such an engaging way that I couldn’t put them down. Having read books by her previously I know that her world building is usually good but I thought that it was excellent in this series. I really liked Wren and I actually liked that I had to work hard to get to understand her, I found her character really intriguing but there was something about her that I just instantly liked. She was a fantastic, strong heroine to read about. I think I would definitely like one of the deserts that she bakes!! All of the characters in the stories were great to read about.
I 100% recommend this series – it was a fantastic read!
This box set is awesome! It has it all… romance, suspense, mystery and of course chocolate! All the things needed to make this an interesting read and a it’s a good one to waste away the day away with. Just don’t read these books on an empty stomach because the food and sweets discussed in this book sound down right sinful and I would love to try them all!
The characters in these books are another thing I should mention. They were fantastic. Even with the magic elements incorporated in them, they were relatable and they were extremely well liked. I couldn’t wait to see where their stories were going and I was sad when the end finally came around. I am looking forward to reading more by this author and I would recommend this box set to a friend!

The concept of magical desserts is so delicious and original. Claire Luana has quickly become one of my favourite authors. Her books are exceptionally well written. These stories will immediately pull you in and immerse you in the unique world of the Confectioners’ Guild.
The Confectioners Chronicles: The Complete Fantasy Mystery Series
By Claire Luana
The Confectioner’s Guild (The Confectioner Chronicles Book 1)
The Confectioner’s Guild by Claire Luana is the first book in the Confectioner Chronicles series. I have to say I loved the prequel and this book is written just as well. The writing style of this author is quite enjoyable. The series is aimed at the YA readers but can be enjoyed by us adults as well. The author has made the characters in this book quite enjoyable and its was a pleasure to have read this book and I do look forward for more instalments. In this book we have mystery, magic and cooking. Not your normal mixture in a book but it works well. So, grab yourself a copy of the book and have an enjoyable time in getting to know not only the characters but the authors wonderful way of telling a story.
The Confectioner’s Coup
The Confectioners Coup is the second book in the Confectioner Chronicles series by Claire Luana. If you enjoyed the first book, then this book will not disappoint you at all. Get yourself ready to meet new characters which you will either like or dislike, but they help make this book enjoyable. I will say this book contains so much sadness and may take you on a roller coaster of emotions. But on saying that it has a few twists and turns that you want to keep turning the page. Book one is my favorite so far in this series, but I am looking forward to book three and a nicer ending.
The Confectioner’s Truth
The Confectioner’s Truth is the third and final book this series. Please don’t start with book three I wouldn’t recommend them read a standalone. We have the pleasure of meeting some new characters in this book, each one I feel enhances the storyline. Wren went through some time in self-doubt and tries to learn from mistakes she has made. Will she be able to learn and not make the same mistakes again? The only thing I did question was why so many couples, but all in all I enjoyed the book. The thing I liked about this series is I found most of the characters to have their own strengths, I could be wrong but that’s my personal opinion! I really liked how Claire just kept building up this series, sometimes I find the last book in a series to be disappointing, but not with this book. The Confectioner’s Truth has ended this series perfectly. I would also recommend anyone and everyone to read this series, you won’t be disappointed.
The Confectioner’s Exile: The Confectioner Chronicles Prequel Novella
The Confectioner’s Exile is the prequel in the Confectioners Chronicles series by Claire Luana. This novella you find will be a nice quick read and you will find it gives the background of Hale and when he joined the guild. Yes, this novella is short, but you will still find twists and turns, love and some adventure. I did enjoy the novella and I am looking forward to reading more in the series.
The Confectioner Chronicles: The Complete Fantasy Mystery Series by Claire Luana is a fun series to read. I recommend reading them in order because the series is in chronological order.
The first book in the series The Confectioner’s Guild starts the series. This book is full of mystery, magic, and cooking. Wren is an amazing cook and soon finds herself in the Confectioner’s Guild. Here she learns more about herself and that she has special magical powers. After the death of the head of the guild after eating her cupcake she learns more about not only herself but this guild that she has been brought into. The characters are well written and the story drew me in from the beginning. Not only is Wren a great character but there are also many others.
The second book is The Confectioner’s Coup continues this series. The story continues for Wren and things are not looking good for her and others in the guild. Guild members are going missing and the King is out of control. I have enjoyed this as well as the first book and the novella. The writing is well written and entertaining. This is a twist and turn thriller that at times kept me on the edge of my seat.
The Confectioner’s Truth is the third book. The story continues with Wren and the members of the guild. There is a new ruler who is beyond bad. He rules like a madman and things are not stable for anyone. I recommend reading the other books in the series. The characters have grown and matured through the course of the series. I enjoy Wren because she is not cocky or self-centered. She is unsure of herself and does not always make the best decisions. She is rash at times and at other times she is centered and in total control. These traits make her easy to relate. There are many past characters who are back and some new ones as well.
The Confectioner’s Exile by Claire Luana is a prequel novella to The Confectioner Chronicles. This is the backstory of Hale Firena and his life. He has always had everything he could possibly want but his life changes drastically. He must learn how to survive without relying on others. I really enjoyed this prequel and read it before I read book 1. The writing is great and the action was also good. After reading this novella I was even more excited to read the series.
The Confectioner Chronicles: The Complete Fantasy Mystery Series by Claire Luana is a unique YA fantasy, thriller, romance series that is full of magic and the unusual and should not be missed. It is also a murder mystery that is action packed and well paced. Claire weaves her magic with just the right amount of mystery and suspense, action and danger, romance and intrigue, heartache and love, humour and fun. I enjoyed the story so much that it finished before I was ready and I didn’t even notice because I was so enthralled to find out what was going to happen next.
In book 1 Wren was falsely accused of murder by cupcake and has a month to find out who framed and who the actual murderer is and clear her name.
In book 2 Wren having barely survived, she is having to face enemies, both old and new as she tries to solve the mystery behind disappearing Guild members.
In book 3 Wren is heartbroken and still reeling from the loss and betrayal of others. On the run, tired, scared, hurt and faced with her past all the while the political unrest continues and Wren wonders if she will ever have her family back and lead a normal life again.
This series should be on everyone’s reading list. I mean books in one stop what could be better.
I absolutely loved this series. It contains 4 books and I highly recommend reading them all in order.
The Confectioner’s Guild –
This one was so unique and the added suspense and mystery had me hooked from page 1 and the last 25% of the book I was on the edge of my seat wondering how in the world she was going to make this all work…Brilliant is just one of the words that come to mind. So many things happen in this story that I’m not even going to try to sum it up
The Confectioner’s Exile –
After reading the Confectioner’s Guild book 1 in this series it was completely awesome to go back and read Hale’s story. I don’t normally like doing this but it worked perfectly for me in this case. I was able to get a much better understanding of who Hale is and where he came from, and the lessons and the tragic losses he experienced along the way.
The Confectioner’s Coup –
This was the continued story of Wren and I loved it as much as the first part of this series. She just can’t win when it comes to staying out of the line of fire with being framed for murder and getting out of that to now suspecting the king of being behind guild members being kidnapped and now the enemy has entered the city.
There was some parts of this story that made me so angry and then parts that were so so sad. You don’t really ever know what your gonna get when you open up one of this authors books and I love that.
The Confectioner’s Truth –
There was a lot going on in this story, we met a lot of new people and visited many new places..I loved this part and I felt as if I was right there with Wren as she was making quick decisions and having a lot of inner battles…I found myself trying to help her and felt like I was feeling everything she was. This character has grown so much through these books and I have totally fallen in love with her, and poor Hale…I miss what feels like the old days with Hale and now there he is regretting so many things, this made me sad.
This author has done an amazing job with this series. I’ve loved every word and every page of all of these books. I absolutely can not wait to read them all again!! She ended this series beautifully and in my humble opinion sets the bar high for any other books in this genre.
Brilliant and I can’t wait to read what is to come from this author!! This is one of those books/series that deserves so much more than 5 stars.
I read these as individual stories and waiting for the next story to drop was painful at times (I can be a little Veruca Salti-sh at times.
These stories are full of all the things that make a good YA fantasy series live up to its expectations. There are wonderful friendships, adventure, intrigue, baked goods, action, and a fast paced narrative. This is a very engaging tale and i would recommend it to old and young alike.
This was a fun and different series. The storyline is unique and the characters are fun, temperamental, creative and daring. It was delicious, witty, heart wrenching, it was awesome! I’m sad to see the series end but also glad it ended so beautifully! Miss Claire did an amazing job. The characters are surprising, the world building is outstanding and the storyline is unique!
