Interview with the Author
Q: So, what makes the Hiram Kane series special?
A: It’s a mix of unique factors, really. When I started writing the Kane series I wanted to create books that echoed the kind of books I love to read, so think of action-adventure thrillers a la Clive Cussler & Russell Blake. I set my stories all over the world, which also mirrors my own life as a travel addict and thrill seeker, and Kane, like me, has a degree in archaeology. Interesting fact; I’ve visited all the featured locations in the series myself. Unlike Hiram, however, I am not a master of martial arts.
What readers will find are lightning-paced, internationally staged page-turners with real-world events and spectacularly exotic settings. Oh, and a cast of nefarious villains and a genuine action hero.
I like to keep my readers guessing, and there’s never a dull moment when Hiram Kane’s involved.
Q: Are the books standalone stories?
A: They can be, yes, and can definitely be read independently from each other. But a few of the main characters feature throughout and the story threads all tie nicely together by the last installment. Well, maybe there’ll be more ☺
If readers do want to read in the optimal order, I suggest the following sequence:
The Tiger Temple
The Samurai Code
The Condor Prophecy
The Shadow of Kailash
The Feathered serpent
Of Curses and Kings : Coming soon
Q: Why should readers give the Kane books a chance?
A: Because Kane’s adventures are page-turning action fests that pull no punches and would definitely appeal to readers who enjoy tales of real-world issues mixed with despicable bad guys and pulse-pounding action sequences. Oh yeah, the awesome power of Mother Nature plays a significant role in all the books.
I loved writing them … I’m confident readers love reading them!more
This is the first book I have read/listened to by this author. I enjoyed the story. I found this story to be great for entertainment. I don’t imagine I will listen to it again, but I would not object to listening to another in this series. Each book is a separate, stand alone adventure.
Through this story, we are given glimpses into the Incan culture, current conditions of the people of Peru, and tidbits about the Spanish control. If this was a true story, I could easily see there being these separate agendas and true purposes behind the desire to find the Lost City. The team lead by Hiram is looking for the lost Incan city. We learn that there are people on the expedition with opposing beliefs (Catholic and Incan) and many peoples agendas oppose the intent of Hiram’s search for the city. Personalities clash and the lives of all the members of the expedition become threatened. If anyone but Hiram manages to get control of the Incan gold, the fate of the country is in peril.
This is the first book I have listened to by this narrator ( Kenneth Bryant ) and I would listen to another. His cadence is such I never forgot I was being read to, he often pauses for quite a while at the end of each sentence or what seems to be where a comma would be. I think his style made the pauses feel longer than they actually were though. Despite this, he adds emotion to the story and characters which helps bring the story alive. His character voices were good. He used different accents to differentiate. This was to good effect since the characters were of differing nationalities. His female voices were ok.
There are no explicit sex scenes, or excessive violence, i do not recall any swearing.

The Condor Prophecy – a review by Rosemary Kenny
Hiram Kane and his team are in the Andes looking for the lost city of Vilcabamba in a race against traitors, terrorists and time in Steven Moore’s all-action thriller, no 2 in the Hiram Kane Action Adventures, The Condor Prophecy.
Although a standalone novel, is contains characters and references from the first book in the series, The Samurai Code. It also shows reasons for Kane’s motivation and develops his character as an engaging MC. The setting of the Andes and the valleys and scenery 0f South America are interestingly added to the narrative as a way of showing Mother Nature’s raw power as an important aspect, against which puny humans are insignificant. Also the contrast between Catholic and Inca beliefs and religions are involved in an interesting way and the ending is unpredictable.
A great second novel in the Hiram Kane series – try them both today and look forward to the third!
I enjoyed The Condor Prophecy. I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request in exchange for an honest review. A lot of character development in the beginning but watch out here comes the adventure in the jungle. If you like Dirk Pitt or Indiana Jones then this book series is for you. I recommend this book.
Exciting treasure hunt with villains galore. This was excellent. The narrator was a bit wrong for an adventure. He would be good for a private detective novel perhaps, not sure, but I took longer to get through this than normal because the narrator made me a bit sleepy. That was certainly no fault of the plot though. The story was thrilling. I received a free review copy of the audio version of this book in exchange for an honest review.
The Condor Prophecy, my third read from author Steven Moore. Reminiscent of author Dan Brown & (James) Rollinsesque in the action that never lets up until the end. Well-written action-thriller, with well-developed characters. I’ll be reading more in this series and look forward to The Shadow of Kailash, the next book in the series. Narrator Kenneth Bryant’s narration again made this re-read so very enjoyable! “I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.” (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 – July 24, 2018).
Fast paced thriller which you cannot stop reading. In fact all the author’s books are well written and very well researched.
I enjoyed The Samurai Code a lot, but this book has surpassed it! The thrilling adventures, the non stop action, the perfect historic descriptions combined with legend is a perfect mix, with the characters background witness their own perspectives, delusional or not is very well expressed! Onto the next release now!
This is a rip roaring exploration adventure set in the mountains and deep jungle of Peru. There are well developed characters, realistic portrayals of emotional conflicts of conscience, and heart stopping action. A touch of romance softens the tale. I liked it a lot!
5 stars
Adventure in the jungle with family quests, Gold, ancient stories and a genuine nest of conspiracies in this attention holding story. The good, the bad, the ugly and a few who can’t make up their minds.
