Charlotte never thought she’d be staring down the barrel of a gun when she walked into her thankless bank job. Especially one that is held by her childhood neighbor and the boy who broke her young heart, Tucker. And the last thing she expected was to become his hostage. What ensues is a story of heartbreak, recovery, passion, and prevailing through it all to save the love that still burns between … between them.
“Aarons takes a typical boy next door romance and turns it on its head. No flowers and sweet, swoon-worthy late night stolen kisses here. There is grit and suspense and a struggle to move forward; and Aarons does it flawlessly.” -The Read Report

The Captive Heart duet was so good!! The first book keep me glue to my kindle because i wanted to know what will hapen!! I mean they know each other sice they were kids but the whole situations was like OMG!!!! and then things start getting really interesting!! they started a relationship and then something happened and if you want to know what you need to read the first book, and i will tell you as soon as you finish it you want to start the second one!! Thank God Carrie made this boxset so we can read both books in once!! and let me tell you the second one was everything and more that i was expecting. The characters has to overcome some difficult situations that with the help of you love one you can do..
I dont want to tell so much about the story because i think you need to start reading this duet without knowing anything so you can enjoy it.
This duet have everything, romance, drama, sexy moments that if you like carrie style you will love it.
Amazing!! This duet is gripping from the very beginning until the end! It didn’t take long to completely fall in love with Charlotte and Tucker and root for them! Two lost souls that find their way back to each other. It’s heartbreaking, tragic, suspenseful and nothing like anything else that Carrie has written. I’m so glad it was a duet because I’m not a patient person so I wouldn’t have wanted to wait for the next book!
Lost (Captive Hearts, Book 1)
5 STARS
The first book in the Captive Hearts Duet is Lost. This is a lot darker than what I’m used to from Carrie Aarons, but I can easily say that I enjoyed it immensely! It’s borderline Stockholm Syndrome, but with a special twist.
We see glimpses of Charlotte and Tucker’s past memories of their childhood crush, teenage heartbreak to the present, where they meet again under a situation that puts both of them in a bad predicament. While on the run we see how they were both lost and lonely in their separate lives but found love while together.
“I was lost without him. And with him, only him, I’m found.” ~Charlotte
“I’m thankful for you. You found me when no one else was even looking. You took this lost shell of a man and fixed me. You returned me to how I used to be, only a better version of the old me. I only have you to thank. And I’m so fucking thankful for that.” ~Tucker
I can’t wait to read the final book of this Duet. I highly recommend reading this series. Lost by Carrie Aarons is an EPIC read that will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!!
Found (Captive Hearts, Book 2)
5 STARS
Found is the final book that completes the Captive Hearts Duet. It was as emotional as the first book and gave me all the feels.
Both Charlotte and Tucker had to deal with the consequences of their decisions. You see the struggle they had and the need to overcome so many issues left unsaid that eventually causes a strain in their relationship.
“We didn’t have to worry about levels of careers or social norms, didn’t have to deal with people talking about the good girl and the bad boy. But now it would all seep in, tainting and infecting our relationship, our fucking marriage, until she wanted to walk away from me.”
But the overall outcome was all I hoped for the two of them. I loved this duet and I highly suggest reading this series. Found by Carrie Aarons is an EPIC read that will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!!
The duet is composed of two books, Lost and Found, with the former focusing on events during and after the robbery and the latter focusing on everything thereafter. There are flashbacks with regards to Charlotte and Tucker’s shared past, giving readers a better idea of how their connection began, flourished somewhat, and then unceremoniously ended as teenagers. I’m going to be perfectly honest and admit that I liked the first book a smidgen more than I did the second one. There was a great deal of tension between them in Lost, almost taking on an enemies-to-lovers feel. There’s still a fair amount of tension in Found, but a lot of felt more like passive-aggressiveness due to their years of separation. That’s not to say book two isn’t as good a read as book one, but there was more of a thrum of almost palpable anticipation during the whole kidnapping part of their relationship.
I think that the what stands out most about this duet is just how original it was. I love when an author is able to put together a wholly new and creative romance. Charlotte and Tucker’s story has a great deal of angst, particularly when it comes the lack of good parenting and guidance these two had to endure. While Tucker is outwardly the more broken one between the two of them, Charlotte is just as lost as he is, stuck in neutral and going through the motions of a mundane life. The character development that they go through was inspiring, even as they falter from time to time. The duet also happens to have a great cast of supporting characters who become part of the support system that our couple leans on as their story plays out. Dare I say that The Complete Captive Heart Duet is Carrie Aarons at her best, and if you’ve never read anything of hers, this would be a great starting point. Five-plus stars.
Not the type of story I have read by this author before. This story was darker, grittier and more intense than anything I have read from Carrie Aarons. It showed a completely different side to her writing and I hope she chooses to write more like this duet. I really enjoyed diving into this side of her.
This is a romance book, just not what I was expecting. It is about second chances and two people on a journey of finding themselves after finding each other. Charlotte and Tucker go way back but during their childhood they not only lost each other but many other things. Their lives have lead them to this intense moment when they meet again. They both have scars from their lives and both are dealing with their own struggle but find a way to help each other.
It is unconventional, and their love isn’t easy, but it is still their love. They face many hardships due to their past lives and the decisions made but love is love.
Carrie Aarons writing was deeply moving, and it dragged me into this world. I was lost in this duet and didn’t want to come up for air. The story was so carefully crafted, and the characters so well developed. I am still just trying to get over my book hangover.
4 1/2 stars!
LOST
Gah! This book started with a “Whaaat?” and ended with a “Nooooooooooo!” I’m not sure how to review this book because I don’t want to give too much away, but I will do my best.
Growing up, Tucker was Charlotte’s next door neighbor, but they never really talked. It was more like mutual admiration (although one didn’t know the other felt the same way) from afar. It wasn’t until their senior year that they actually started a relationship, albeit a secret one. But then he abruptly left for college and she never heard from him again. Charlotte moves on with her life and even gets engaged, but she never really settles into her life. Meanwhile, Tucker went off to college to play football and seemed to be on track to become a star, but then an injury puts an end to his dreams.
Charlotte goes to her (boring) bank job one morning and gets held up at gunpoint. It turns out she knows the person behind the gun. It’s Tucker. When he realizes who she is and what that means, he takes Charlotte hostage and goes on the run.
What follows is a story about two people, who couldn’t be more different, come together in less than desirable conditions and rediscover a bond that they thought was long gone. We learn about their past (together and separate) and what led them to where they are today.
It may not be a complete novel (and yes, it ends on a cliffhanger!), but a lot happens in this book. It is a fantastic read that will make you feel all the feelings and leave you wanting more. I have so many questions that I hope will get answered in the next book so bring on Found!

If you have not read Lost you will want to stop reading. This is not a standalone book! And although I will try my hardest to not give anything away, please go back, read the first book and then read this one. Okay? Okay.
Well this book not only gave me all the answers I wanted, but it also destroyed me and then put me back together. It picks up three years after Lost and we learn what happened after Tucker was arrested. We get the story in present time, but just like the previous book, we get flashbacks (those were some of the most heart wrenching moments) to fill in the missing pieces. I was pleasantly surprised by the way the book opened and the information we are given right away. But by the end of the first chapter I knew that things would get worse before they got better.
What a journey Tucker and Charlotte go on. My heart broke at the end of Lost and I really just wanted everything to work out. They built such a wonderful relationship and to have it ripped away the way it was, was so horrible. But I also knew that they would mostly have a hard road ahead. And I wasn’t wrong about that. At first there are more bad moments than good. They are both struggling to get back to their normal and outside forces, as well as their own demons, are making it difficult to completely move on. But they are trying their hardest. Not everything is bad though. There are some very sweet moments that gave me hope that these two would be able to work through their issues and get that happily ever after I desperately wanted for them.
Epilogues are one of my favorite things about books and the epilogue here? OMG. It was absolutely perfect! I got emotional while reading this book, but the epilogue put me over the edge and I cried…a lot. On their own, these books are good, but put them together and you have a beautiful story of love, loss and finding your way back to the person you are meant to be with.
This duet…what a roller coaster!! Drama, angst, and a second chance. Tucker and Charlotte have quite a ride to get to their HEA, and I could NOT stop reading this once I started. So good!
Not what I’m used to from this author, but boy did this duet kept me on the edge of my seat! the intensity of it was what drew me in and made me read it in one sitting!.
This is absolutely one of the most hard hitting stories I’ve read in a while. Originally, it was a duet, one I’ve not read before, published by this author. She definitely doesn’t shy away from the tough subjects, from the difficult problems of life! And she never fails to put my emotions on edge!
Lost:
This book had me on edge right from the beginning. Tucker isn’t your typical guy from a romance. He isn’t what you expect the female lead to fall for. He is an addict, and his life is spiraling out of control. He is at rock bottom, with no where else to go. Crazy circumstances lead to a reunion, that isn’t necessarily a happy one. Tucker and Char have a connection, but I wasn’t sure if it was enough to take them through in one piece. This story bounced around, between current events, and their childhood, giving us a backstory that explained where that connection came from and why it was so strong.
Found:
This book was absolutely riveting! But also a very deep, emotional story, that left me with a heavy heart at times. Occurring 3 years after lost, Tucker and Char are still dealing with the fall out of the events of Lost. This book is all about finding yourself, and who you are, who you could be, after your world explodes. It’s about finding your way back up to the top after you’ve hit rock bottom. Char and Tucker held strong, through some really crazy events, and are just now finding out what their lives can be together.
This duet was everything. It was not your typical boy meets girl, then they fall in love and live HEA, with maybe a few stumbles along the way. Nope. This is real life. From the dirtiness of addiction, to the struggle of being apart, to the difficulty of making it all work. This book is an absolute, must read. For everyone!
The Complete Captive Heart Duet by Carrie Aarons contains Lost and Found and will captivate you from start to finish. Two people who once knew each other and led very different lives. This is not your typical romance and yet you will love Tucker and Charlotte journey.
Right from the start you see how different these two characters are and yet their connection is palpable. We learn about their history and the paths each took and how they came to be in the circumstances they encounter in the first book. In Found we see them work through obstacles they continuously face and yet fight for what they feel. I was riveted by this story from start to finish.
4.5-stars. Happy reading!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

This book is the complete Captives Hearts Duet. The best part is there is no waiting on the second book and you get both books in on edition. This is the story of Char and Tucker who have known each other since they were children. When they grow up though life takes them on two totally different journey’s until thing change and bring them back together. I loved these characters so much. This book kept my reading from the beginning to the end. This is a book that covers years in these characters lives and you are going to love getting all the information about them that your possibly can. The book is so amazing that it plays out like a movie while your reading it. This is one duet that you do not want to miss.
The Complete Captive Heart Duet
What an amazing duet!! Its all what I was looking for and then some! Full of angst.
Grab it today! You will not be disappointed!
Charlotte’s love of her life, is also her bully. Tucker is the boy next door, the popular boy, the one going places. She…is not. Somehow, they are drawn to each other as teenagers, but he leaves and breaks her heart.
Fast forward several years and a chance encounter has them reconnecting in a way they could have never for seen.
Their reunion is not the typical romance story. It’s gritty and painful. In the first book, Lost, they are just that. Two people dealing with the tough hand life dealt them with not much grace.
In the second book, Found, they fight their way back to a better life. Get ready to shed a few tears, but push through to an ending that will leave you smiling. Much different from Carrie Aaron’s typical books, but so worth the read.
This is the story of Charlotte and Tucker. They were childhood friends once upon a time. As adults they haven’t seen each other in years and things have really changed. This story is hard to read on parts because it broke my heart. I absolutely loved the ending and thought it was so amazing. A heartbreaking and beautiful story. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!
Lost –
This book had me breathless and wanting more – good thing I had book 2 in the series to fall right into. I found this book to have loads of suspense, plenty of angst, the characters had grit and determination and the plot – literally had me ignoring my family to finish. Char and Tucker had a love/hate relationship from the age of 7 and with one wrong decision they are thrown together only to end up as soulmates. But when the law is involved all bets are off. Carrie Aarons has created a masterpiece with this story and I cannot wait to see where she takes it in book 2.
Found –
The saga continues for Char and Tucker and once again I wish I could give this more than 5 Stars. Past decisions have left Tucker and Char apart for about three years. Both have had up and down feelings and are not sure if their relationship can survive. Once Tucker is released can they find the love that they once shared again? Or will guilt and other negative feelings overcome true love? This book had my emotions in overdrive. There were parts that had me laughing and others that had me crying. But in more than once section I had to yell at my kindle. Carrie Aarons once again created a story that had angst, determination and unrelenting love. I would love to see these characters again years down the road.
Five stars for Charlotte and Tucker !
This duet is something different from the books I’ve read before, written by Carrie Aarons and I have to admit that this just shows how amazing writer is Carrie .
“Captive Heart Duet” isn’t typical romance duet.
No, these two books are more as a real-life love story where everything slowly going apart but then when there is no hope for any happy ending, it starts lighting a little light as a reminder that maybe there is still the chance for love.
That the main reason why I loved it so much.
I don’t need a fairy tale romance book. I need the book which will make me cry and it’ll show me the worst, but after everything, there will come the best part, unconditional love.
And that is what I’ve got from Carrie’s duet !
Charlotte and Tucker are two characters who with their actions trough these two books touched every single emotion in me. At first they both were lost but in the end, they found each other.
They found love .
Highly recommended!!!
LOST
4.5 Stars
Lost is the first book in the Captive Heart Series and what a way to start. This is definitely not your ordinary love story. It is however about second chances and figuring out what two people truly want out of life.
Charlotte has a very mundane kind of life. She is a twenty-five year old credit analyst that goes through the motions. Always has. She grew up doing what she was expected and hated it. The only thing she loved growing up was her books and the boy next door. She could always count on her books but the boy was a totally different story. And sooner than she ever thought possible, she will add to their story…
Charlotte got to work early at the bank, as usual. She was alone until a man came through the doors and that’s when her life was turned upside down. She realized right then that she hadn’t lived. And now he was back. Tucker. The boy next door. He was now a man but he didn’t look like the same person. He looked lost. Unhealthy. Mean. What happened to the Tucker she once knew and loved? Well…she is about to find out, if she wanted to or not.
Charlotte and Tucker are and always were complete opposites. She didn’t have friends and he was the most popular boy in school. And it looks like they are still living on the opposite sides of each other except it’s for different reasons. They used to be secret friends, hiding away from everyone else. But, now they will have the chance to get to know one another again without interruption, outside influence, and judgement. Will they find love again or will they find that they never had it?
This story is unique in the way that brings them back together. I love second chance love stories, and this was a great one. They were both lost. She was lost in her mundane existence and he was lost in a haze. Will they be found?
I thought Charlotte is pretty kickass. She is strong, protective, loving to a fault, and wants more out of life. She just has to figure out how. And Tucker…oh Tuck, not gonna lie, I wanted to slap him a few times but I also wanted to give him some love. He got to me, that’s for sure. Together, it’s not always easy but easy isn’t always fun. They definitely have their challenges and that is what makes it such a great ride.
Overall…it’s a unique, sexy, sassy, and crazy ride. I can’t wait for the next book!!
Quote:
“You know what’s harder than having everything ripped away? Never getting anything you want in your entire life. Try that one on for size, Tucker.” She glares at me, her big eyes stony and filled with rage.
“I’m going to make this right.” He throws open the door to my cabin and pulls me inside.
“You were so damn pretty sitting there with a book in your hands. Always with a book in your hands.”

Found is the conclusion to Tucker and Charlotte’s love story. You must read Lost first to fully understand their epic romance and heartbreak. I thought it was a unique and addictive story so I was happy to know that I wouldn’t have to wait long for the second and final book.
Three years. It doesn’t sound like a long time but when you are not able to reach out and touch the love of your life it feels like a lifetime. That is how Charlotte feels but the day has finally come when she gets him back. Except, he is not the same person she fell in love with. Again. He is cold. She knew it would be awkward but she had hoped they would run into each other’s arms and be the “us” she has dreamed about. Charlotte is staying positive that she will get her Tucker back but when he doesn’t even want to look at her, she is scared that he could be lost forever.
Tucker loves Charlotte but he feels like he doesn’t deserve her. She should move on. Find someone that won’t hurt her. He wished things were different but he can’t even touch her. He knows she wants to go back to the way things were but they are different people now. Hardened. Their relationship was tainted three years ago and they can’t just forget about what happened. They fell in love. Then ripped apart. Everyone knows their story. Tucker hates that it hurt Charlotte but he doesn’t regret their love but can they find each other again?
Communication. That is what Tucker and Charlotte need to do. Talk about the negative and not just about the positive. They need to talk about what is on their minds and not walk on eggshells. They also need to get it on! But when your man won’t talk or even look at you with hungry eyes…you need to fight for what you want. And Charlotte is ready to get her man. To prove to him that they can find their way back to each other. But, can lighting strike twice?
I love Tucker and Charlotte! They are strong, sexy, and so much more. Their story isn’t ever easy but worth it.
Quotes:
I think she’s trying to play me. That tease.
“What does a girl gotta do to get fucked around here?”
“I definitely don’t remember this happening at the end of Sixteen Candles.”
This was an awesome duet. I loved Charlotte and Tucker so much. If you haven’t read it, you must.
5 AMAZING STARS!! Char and Tucker have know each other since kids….these two find different lives, but things change that brings them back together. I freaking loved this book, it touched all my feels and gave me tingles. This author definitely know how to suck us readers into her story land and never let us out. I need the next book…now.
Wow…What a ending!! I absolutely loved this book and duet. Char and Tucker will be engraved on my heart forever. You definitely need to read book 1 before reading this one.
5 Captive stars!!
This duet is made up of two previously released books, Lost and Found. Lost is book 1 where we meet Charlotte and Tucker, and right from the offset, it’s clear this isn’t a typical love story.
Tucker is kinda broken, and bad… and dangerous. He’s a junkie, he steals to keep up with his addict lifestyle. He’ll do just about anything to get his next fix!
Charlotte is the complete opposite of Tucker, she’s a good girl and has never done anything bad in her life. Maybe that’s why she finds it so unexciting.
It’s a wonder they ever connected, but they did, once, when they were kids. Now, they’re grownup and life is about to take a turn that Charlotte never expected.
My goodness, I’ve never read a book quite like this from Carrie Aarons before. It’s grittier and darker. There’s a tenseness and edginess to the whole story that grips you and keeps you spellbound page after page. Will there be a happy ending?? Well, that’s for you to find out.
