Working for the FBI certainly isn’t a “normal” job, but Special Agent Julie Ann Davidson has never encountered a case as personal as this one. Although not officially assigned to the case, Ann and her partner, Patrick Duncan, take up the cause of finding Rachel, Jason, and Emily Collins. As if that task wasn’t enough, Ann and Patrick also have a baffling case of internet thievery to investigate.
investigate.
Who is Christopher Collins and what about his past is endangering his family? Where are Rachel and the kids being held? Where is God in the midst of chaos? Will Ann and Patrick arrive in time or will they find only pain?

I really liked this book!
Are the theft and kidnapping cases linked?
Weeell, I’m not exactly sure how to write this one. Don’t get me wrong, I was kept entertained by the audiobook of The Collins Case and I’ll probably be listening to more of the Heartfelt Cases series. I did enjoy the suspense elements and the awkwardness between two characters as their relationship changed into something more. But… I’ll be honest… I found certain scenes, and the characters’ reactions to certain events, to be pretty unrealistic to the point of being frustrating at times. The audio production, while not terrible, was not the best either.
Was this audiobook a winner for me? No, not really. Will it stop me from checking out more books from Julie C. Gilbert? No, it won’t. Overall it was OK and, like I said, I’ll be listening to the rest of the books in the series that have been released on audiobook.
(I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher. All opinions are entirely my own.)
Fast moving action…hang on tight!
The story line was suspenseful without needing unnecessary violence. Evil & danger surface even though he had walked away from his past. It now comes back to haunt him and threatens to derail any hope of a normal & decent life. We see a family taken hostage and used as pawns to leverage Dads’ cooperation in a scheme where his skills excelled. Can he not only rescue them but can forgiveness & grace rebuild this broken family?
We find a Christian faith that is lived rather than preached even through devastating circumstances.
THE COLLINS CASE by Julie C Gilbert
Albeit this is a short novel, but really moves along without feeling underdeveloped as with some shorter suspense novels. The characters and plots are well developed and it has a strong faith element.
Ann and Patrick are partners in the FBI and get involved in a case involving a friend of Ann’s kidnapping, along with her children, stolen money, and a hidden identity.
Very good novel, and a good narration.
This review is for the audio book.
This was a different book for me but I did enjoy it. It is very Faith based, which is why it is different (a lot of calling on God to help make the right decision) but I liked the story plot and will be checking out the next in the series. I wish it had a happier ending but still some good came out of the tragedy.
A young family goes missing the night there house blows up. The mother just happens to be friends with an FBI agent who can’t help but look into the case. Julie Ann has to work two case as she is official assigned a group that are hacking into bank records and stealing money. When the two case collided things turn deadly and bullets start flying. With help from unseen forces Julie Ann and her partner Patrick go up against drug trackers in a race to save a family.
I liked the narrator and she did have a nice signing voice but not to sure about having music at the start of each chapter, it made me jump the first couple of times,
Christian mystery that held my interest all the way to the end. Started with quiet family and quickly included kidnappers, FBI, and criminal plots. Made me wonder if the crime that was making millions has been done. One sad part but unfortunately sad things happen in real life. All the characters that were Christian maintained their faith throughout the story. I didn’t like being interrupted because I wanted to finish the story. Two strong women in this story.
