THERE ARE NO DOUCHEBAGS IN THIS STORY.Well, there are, but they’re not who this story is about. This story is about me—the coach’s daughter. When I moved to Iowa to live with my dad, the university’s take-no-prisoners wrestling coach, I thought transferring would be easy as pie—living with my father would be temporary, and he’d make sure his douchebag wrestlers left me alone.Wrong on both counts.… left me alone.
Wrong on both counts.
ASSHOLES ALWAYS COME OUT OF THE WOODWORK WHEN THE STAKES ARE HIGH.
A bet is placed, and I’m on the table. After one humiliating night and too much alcohol, I find the last nice guy on campus. And when he offers to rent me his spare bedroom, I go all in. It’s time for the nice guy to finish first.
Midnight chats and spilling my problems turn to lingering touches. Lingering touches turn to more.
And the ultimate good guy has the potential do more damage than any douchebags ever could.

Words can’t begin to describe what I feel for this book! Having gone through a similar situation with my now Husband and parents of two girls by the age of 22. I found myself relating to Anabelle more than I thought. This book brought me back to finding out I was pregnant my freshman year. Elliot and Anabelle were sizzling with chemistry from the begging, and if I’m being honest I was rooting for Rex! Not to end up with Anabelle, but just the fact that he got his act together! Elliot is probably one of favorites because I see a lot of my husband in his character. It been a while since I read something that made me feel like this. Thank you Sara Ney! I love reading this series for the amazing love stories and blurbs at the start of each chapter and you never disappoint with either! I couldn’t put The Coaching Hours down! Elliot has stolen Oz’s spot as my favorite Douche lol
This wasn’t my favorite in the series, but I still enjoyed it. I’m so over the manwhores. It’s nice to read about a decent guy for once. Elliot was always the nice, sweet guy. You’ll remember him as Oz and Zeke’s former roommate. Anabelle was also a sweet character. I loved the twist that happens. Oopsie!
It looks like Rex may have a book soon. He really grew on me. He became such a great friend to Anabelle when she needed someone.
This is a great series! I recommend starting from the very beginning. You really don’t want to miss Oz!
This book starts a little different than normal. We get the POV from a few different guys whom all could be the hero in the end… until we read a little further and find out exactly what kind of guys they are, but even then, with situations arising, we can’t be certain who the heroine will end up in the end. It keeps you on your toes. While there are laughs throughout it, there aren’t really any laugh out loud moments. The vibe tends to be a little on the somber side. Not all sad, but not all sunshine and roses. The relationships between the girl and the boys, seems to pick up and move quickly. Granted not seriously for most of them. The story also moves quickly. The heroine and the one boy whom she does get the closest too, seemed to skip some of the emotional aspects. The two became good friends before becoming intimate, but it felt like it lacked something as far as their feelings go. I mean we got to see them become close, but there was never any relationship talk, or talk about their feelings towards one another or anything like that. I felt like one minute they were friends, the next they were in love. As a reader, it didn’t feel like they were in love. All in all, it was an enjoyable read and it kept your attention. There is some sexual content, but that isn’t the main focus of the romance.
I adore this series. Elliot was a GOOD GUY. There isn’t enough of the good guys are there, and I am so happy this story had a good one nestled between the d bags. Rex was a piece of work, that is for sure, but he grew on me. I have read his novella so I knew he was such an adorable dork that this didn’t shock me.
I loved Ana and Elliot though. These two were so sweet together and it broke my heart when they got separated. I found myself wanting to punch him for leaving, but also not telling her his feelings either. It was like he was trying to keep her on a leash but also push her away and that got under my skin. I am happy he finally came to his senses, and didn’t do anything too stupid though so he gets points in my book. I am sad this is the final book I had in this series because now it means I can’t get glimpses of some of my favorite D bags in other books. They have become like family to me.
This entire series was hilarious and heart-warming.
My heart nearly broke reading this book, but it was saved by Elliot’s return.
Anabelle, the new girl on campus has been trying to remove herself from under her father’s watchful eyes, but ends up caught in action when he finds out she’s moved in with a guy. Well, at least he’s not on the wrestling team her father coaches. Elliot is 100% gorgeous and spending more and more time with your roommate only leads to wrestling in the sack. he he heh. Like what I did there? just kidding.
These douchebag novels have consumed my whole week. I need more douchebags!!!
The worst of the series. Just skip it.
Absolutely love this series and Sara Ney. Elliot was the good guy however he did have some douchy moments. Anabelle was such a strong heroine as are all the girls in this series. I can’t wait to see if Rex (yes Rex) gets a story, he did redeem himself pretty well in this book.
I love that Ney’s Hero’s and Heroine’s are becoming more complex and interesting. And I have a mad crush on Elliot. I loved seeing how these two overcome some giant obstacles.
Hilarious & heart warming
This book was much more than I had expected. I had expected the humor…. laugh out loud humor I might add! What I wasn’t expecting was the rest of the story. Such great characters, fabulous relatioship explorations between them all, and lastly a great coming of age plot with struggles many of us have actually faced!
Great book. Wonderful author. Can’t wait to continue the series! I have high hopes for more greatness.
I really enjoyed this story and wish there would have been more of this couple. It was great to see how their story progressed. I definitely recommend this book, this series, and this author.
I love this book too. Anabelle is the wrestling coaches daughter. She moves to go to school there. A bet gets put on her head and it makes her mad. She gave it right back and I have to say well played. I was laughing and smiling throughout this book as well. Elliot is an athlete. He plays soccer for fun. He keeps to himself. Until he meets Anabelle and becomes his roommate. He is a little selfish and I felt bad for her but she took it so well. She knew what needed to be done. Highly recommend this book. Another great read.
I freaking enjoy this series! A different kind of douchebag 4.5 stars story that will have you swooning, laughing, and falling head over heals with the star of the book being the coach’s daughter from the wrestling team!
“Those douchebags need to learn a lesson. And I’m just the girl to teach them.”
Expect tons of surprises and moments that you will not forget. It is a mix of a quick time line and a slow burn read (if that makes any sense) that makes this one unique. A sweet friends to lovers story with a bonus that will have you itching for more by the end.
I am still in denial that this is said to be the last book in the series because I want more!
This was my favourite book of the series! I loved how Elliott was so thoughtful, charming and caring towards Annabelle. It was a nice change from the previous books, where the lead couples had rocky starts. This book on the other hand, was more slow-building. They started out as friends, then they moved in together and before they knew it, they could no longer deny that there was something between them. It was hilarious watching them tip-toe around each other and try to avoid their feelings for one another. However, the best part was when they finally got together. That’s when things took an interesting turn that I never saw coming! This is a surprisingly beautiful story about a good guy and the coach’s daughter, and one guy’s redemption that I never saw coming! Trust me, you don’t want to miss out on this fantastic book!
Sara Ney is without a doubt an accomplished douchebag and a strong feisty chick all in that innocent looking package. I have an absolute blast with each one of these books.
These are fun, rowdy, and so romantic. I can honestly say that she gets me everytime. I sigh at the romantic stuff and cringe when its bound to go bad. I ache at the possibility of no HEA. I freaking squeal at the endings though and The Coaching hours really put me through the wringer.
With no shame, the author stabs you in the soft spots right away. Clinches your heart at the first sign of trouble and makes sure you are constantly reflecting on said betrayal.
In short, she keeps you on your toes and occasionally steps on them too.
As you can tell by my previous reviews, I have absolutely loved the How to Date a Douchebag series and truly am sad to see it ending. Though officially it ended a while ago, this was the end for me. The Couching Hours by Sara Ney was the perfect ending that had me laughing, swooning, and frustrated and I loved every minute of it!
Annabelle is the coach’s daughter. She wants to be closer to her dad and take advantage of his tuition discount. She was looking forward to the change and getting started. But things are not as easy as she thought it would be. Instead she finds herself in the middle of a ridiculous bet, a few bad choices and meeting one nice guy that changes everything.
This is how Annabelle finds hew new roommate. Choices are made, some amazing and others, not so much. I must say this was probably, at least for me, the most frustrating in the series. We had the same banter we love, amazing chemistry, and another great story. The narrators were amazing and brought the story to life for me time and time again. If you have not met the douchebag yet, seriously, what are you waiting for!
4.5 stars. Happy reading!
***5 Stars***
Having caught up with all things Douchebag (I kinda did things a little half ass backwards when it came to reading the series) I found that I needed more and was all kinds of excited to get my hands on The Coaching Hours and I was not disappointed in any way. I absolutely devoured this baby. It was all kinds of sweet, funny and smexy and had a couple of twists that I definitely didn’t see coming as Anabelle and her “Douchebag” worked their way to their HEA.
Now, you all know I’m all about the non-spoilery reviews, but this one will be even more so because the author has kept things on the extreme down low as to who the male lead is. So what I will say is that I did end up adoring him. It was hard not to. He isn’t perfect because there were a few moments of “Seriously, dude, seriously?” going on…but, that didn’t take anything away from him. Then there is Anabelle and this girl is all kinds of sweet, snarky and genuine. Once she has her sights set on something she sticks to her guns and doesn’t back down. What I found most intriguing about her was how well she read people, I didn’t always agree with her assessment (at least not right away), but can’t deny that she was pretty spot on most of the time.
Their journey was all kinds of sweet and smexy slow building romance that had me wanting them to hurry things along because the sexual tension between them was quite intense, and yet at the same time loving the slow burn because it was fun to watch them get to know each other down to their very souls. I loved their bantering and simply enjoyed hanging out with them. The pot holes in their journey were not ones I saw coming and yet I thought they were done very well and very realistically and loved how everything worked out in the end.
I have no doubt that fans of the series will be thrilled when they find out who the male lead is, because I was, and though Zeke still reigns as my absolute fav DB (I do adore my broody bastards), this male is a very close second. As I said there are all kinds of twists and turns in this one and I thought they were well thought out and executed. Since there is a veil of secrecy going on I can’t come out and say if there are any new characters I love or whose book I want next, but I am definitely crossing my toes that we’ll be getting more books in this series/world sooner rather than later!

The thing i love about this series is you don’t know what kind of story you are going to get and who the story is about and what the storyline is and i love that.
When i started this book i thought oh goodness not these two douchebags bags where’s this going to go and then boom this story did a 180 and it headed in a direction i was not expecting.
Both the main characters were so sweet and adorable i loved both of them equally. They had both had such amazing personalities and they got wanted to be successful. They become best friends so quickly and easily and i loved watching thier relationship grow and the chemistry fire through the pages.
These two certainly don’t have it easy and have many obstacles to go through but i loved reading about thier journeys.
I also loved how some douchebags finally get some pay back but also some douchebags redeem themselves once you read it you will know what i mean.
This book had it all pm drama, surprises and just all in all a really amazingly written book and series, one of my favourite series ever. If you haven’t read them it’s a must and if you have you need to get into this book loved it.
Massive 5 Stars for this book and 5 massive stars for this series.
NO SPOILERS!
The Coaching Hours was a sweet, sexy, funny, and entertaining standalone romance, and I really enjoyed it! The storyline and characters were wonderful and so unexpected, and I loved Sara Ney’s writing style and sense of humor. The How to Date a Douchebag series has been an amazing ride, and I can’t believe it’s over. However, I’m so excited to read more from this author!
The storyline was a very unexpected yet pleasant surprise. I honestly didn’t see it coming, but was pleased with the turn of events. Even though I was happy with a few of the plot twists, there were some parts that I didn’t like as much, and others that I would’ve liked to have progressed a little differently. Despite some of those aspects, I really enjoyed The Coaching Hours from beginning to end, and was satisfied with the conclusion.
The characters were wonderful, and I loved them a lot. Elliot and Anabelle were amazing. I loved their personalities and red-hot chemistry together, and how most of their relationship progressed throughout. I loved reading the book from both Elliot and Anabelle’s point of view, and all of their banter and interactions with each other. Elliot and Anabelle’s journey wasn’t always easy, and they definitely had some shocking and up and down moments, but ultimately I was happy with the conclusion to their story and the How to Date a Douchebag series.
The Coaching Hours was a sexy, humorous, and entertaining standalone romance, and I would definitely recommend it and the rest of the How to Date a Douchebag series! Sara Ney did a fantastic job with this book, and even though it wasn’t my favorite installment in the series, I was very pleased with the outcome to Elliot and Anabelle’s story. The How to Date a Douchebag series has been an epic, hilarious, and unforgettable adventure, and I can’t wait read Sara Ney’s Jock Hard series!
I’m so bummed that it’s then end, I really enjoyed this series. I loved that this one was different than the other 3. For a hot minute I wasn’t sure where it was going guy wise. But of course it all worked out and it made this girl all kinds of happy.
