Another great book in this series, filled with love, suspense and a real community feel. I look forward to the next book in this series. I definitely recommend this book, series and author.
So great
I love this series and these characters. Nick and Emmy are just so perfect together. I love how the characters all bleed together from the first book. Lots and lots of drama in this one, but it’s good drama and very well written. Such a great love story
Great read!!!
An easy read with a definite twist at the end. Had to read it in one day because I could not put it down. Read like a roller coaster with one situation resolved only to be hit with another dilemma.
Wow…what a story! I was hooked in the first paragraph and it didn’t let go, even with the last page. This story, these characters, will be with me for a while and will be one I will definitely read again. Flawless writing style so expressive that I felt I just watched the movie. Abso-f*@*ing-lutely exceptional.
Does what happens in Vegas really stay in Vegas? For Emmaline it does. She married a gorgeous stranger after spending a whirlwind weekend with him, but when she woke up the next morning, all that was there was a “Sorry” and the ring on top of it. 9 years later, Emmaline has moved on and she’s tired of living up to her father’s ridiculous expectations, so she moves to Prescott after accepting a teaching job. Unfortunately for her, her estranged husband lives there too, and he seems to badly want a second chance with her.
Emmaline has moved on, though, and is resistant to Nick’s alpha personality. Or is she? When Nick left Emmaline the morning after they got married, he had good reason for leaving the woman he had instant chemistry with. He’s never forgotten her, though, and hasn’t ever gotten over her. Can he charm her into giving him a second chance? Perhaps, but there are more obstacles than just Emmaline’s resistance. There’s the same reason Nick left her in the first place. There’s Emmaline’s ridiculous father. There’s also an unknown stalker and an even more menacing threat that Emmaline and Nick will never see coming.
I really liked The Clover Chapel. Second chances is one of my favorite tropes when done right, and Devney Perry definitely does right by this trope. Nick and Emmaline have a really intense chemistry, and the action and suspense help move the pace along. I’m definitely going to check out the rest of this series now!
Vegas….it’s the place where anything and everything can happen. For Emmaline – this trip was supposed to be a weekend filled with antics to be shared between her friends. When they all find a group of guys to hookup with, Emmaline is the ‘odd man out’. The one that doesn’t really feel like ‘sharing’ her time. What Emmaline didn’t count on was meeting Nick. The two had an instant chemistry, and embarked upon a night filled with fun and laughter.
The two decided to take things one step further. Tying the knot in the quaint Clover Chapel. With a determination to make a future after becoming man and wife, Emmaline and Nick share a magical night together. When Emmaline awakens the next morning, the reality of the previous night comes crashing down. Nick disappeared sometime in the night…leaving Emmaline reeling from the repercussion of her trip to Vegas. As they say….what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas…..well….it was suppose to.
Fast forward nine years…..Emmaline decides to leave the city life of New York behind for a teaching career in Montana. An escape from the demands of her father, and all of the social requirements that Emmaline is expected to perform. What Emmaline did not expect was to come face to face with the man that walked out on her nine years ago. Nothing could have prepared Emmaline to come face to face with her husband after all those years.
Life in Montana has been good for Nick. There hasn’t been a day that’s gone by that Nick hasn’t thought about Emmaline, and what walking out on her has done to both their lives. Every prayer that Nick has uttered has been full of hope that Emmaline lived the life that he dreamed she would lead. So – nothing prepared Nick for the moment that he laid eyes on the woman of his dreams. With so much time and questions between them, Nick knows that he needs to explain what happened the night after their wedding. The only problem? No one knew Nick was married, and Emmaline isn’t forgiving Nick at the drop of a hat. Will they overcome the past and find their way back to that magical night in Vegas??
Nick and Emmaline…..wow….talk about an interesting relationship!!! These two pulled out all the stops when they met in Vegas. Something that folks think about far too often. It was wild, impulsive, and clearly the catalyst that set the course of the plot of this book. With the flash forward to the moment that Emmaline and Nick crossed paths again…..I knew this book was going to be full of thrills!!
Nick and Emmaline are fighting demons from their past. The circumstances that caused Nick to walk away from Emmaline all those years ago come into play, and provide some seriously interesting moments. Danger threatens the couple in unexpected ways. Leaving readers to follow the ups and downs of this couple relationship. A thoroughly enjoyable reading experience!!
This is the first book I’ve read in this series and the first book I’ve read from this author. I was completely blown away by the story this author has given her readers and based off this story alone, I look forward to reading more books from this author in the future. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline. This was a romance story but it also had a bit of suspense and of course drama. This will make you laugh, smile and touch your heart. I can’t wait to read the next book.
Emneline was very forgiving and unpretentious. Nick was caring. I enjoyed the twists, and the families were interesting.
Enjoyed this book.
A great read. Loved Nick and Emmy. The prologue hooked me from the start. I loved this second chance romance. I recommend reading this series in order. One click, “I dare you”.
Although, I didn’t like the long time between the characters meeting again, the story was romantic, and the characters were so full of emotion, and deep love that never went away.
Too much sex and foul language.
Good story but language terrible!! Should have put it down. Sally
I liked the story idea but using the …..F… word every other sentence was
not necessary. It did nothing for the character. I would hesitate reading anymore by this author if that type of language is used. I am not a prude, the word did nothing for this story line.
Great easy read series
There was just always another surprise around the corner, for the main character, and not in a good way. So it was surprising and yet romantic and of course ends well.
it was too typical…same plot, same story, not attention getting
Wonderful
I really enjoyed reading this book.
