Passion is its own reward… Chandramukhi Diamond and bring its thief to justice.
Rufus has never fallen so head-over-heels in love with a woman in his life, and he will stop at nothing to help Caro in her quest to recover the diamond. But with pressure mounting for him to marry in order to restore his family’s fortunes, will his dalliance with Caro be his last affair before a lifetime of misery or will he and Caro find a way for love to conquer all?
A light-hearted, fun, SUPER steamy, Regency romp—a quick read, not to be taken too seriously.

I love these vignettes of Regency romps. We finally get the mystery of the missing diamond solved which really takes a front seat in this story. Caroline and Rufus are a great couple with lots of chemistry. It is nice reading something other than the same old Regency (not that I do not love them!) and these stories take you on a naughty ride that titillates and tantalizes.
I received a complimentary copy from the author.
So here is the final book in this series second trilogy.
It sees the resolution of the diamond’s thief plot.
Like the two previous books, it takes place at the school for young ladies of ruined reputations.
Lady Caroline Pepys auto-named herself headmistress of this school after the “defection “ of the previous one and with Lord Rufus Herrington, she continues to investigate the diamond’s disparition in visiting the house next door and its parties for profligate.
Both play their role, and they grow to care for the other, but Rufus must marry money to restore his family’s legacy.
Here is no shy couple, they love each other and they have needs they do not fear to act on.
Of course it would be impossible for lady Caroline to manage the school, nor provide for Rufus as she suggests without being shunned or with a big school but this read is a naughty and steamy kind of fairy tale.
Another fun addition to When the Wallflower were Wicked series and the time there is about Lady Caroline Pepys. She is now in charge of the School for young ladies who have ruined their reputations. Really it is more like a prison! But Caro is determined to win Lord Rufus as soon as she finds the Diamond that is missing!
Although this story is shorter, Merry has packed a lot into the pages. Wonderful characters, a mystery, suspense and of course that steamy romance! If only Rufus did not need money to run his estate he really was in love with Caro. If they could only find the diamond!!
Prepare to be entertained and smiling as you turn the last page!
Now that Caro’s friends have gotten married and headmistress Dobson has run off, Caro takes over to give the girls left at the school a chance to learn practical things. Caro has several layers that Rufus has slowly been peeling away while they try to bring that dang missing diamond. But duty will threaten to pull them apart, but Caro has a trick up her sleeve. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
I do like to read a good romp and this certainly qualifies. Outrageous, daring behavior by the young ladies, good dialogue, humor and a love story. There is also some tension added with the arranged marriages of Rufus and Caro, but to other parties. How are they going to avoid that?!
Since the flight of its former patroness, Lady Caroline Pepys has put herself in charge of the ladies’ finishing school that has been more of a prison for girls with damaged reputations. She plans to properly educate the girls who’ve become her friends and help prepare them for the real world. She’s also determined to have Lord Rufus Herrington for her own, right after she finds the missing Chandramukhi diamond and uncovers the thief.
Rufus has fallen madly in love with Caroline and will do whatever it takes to help her find the diamond. But with his finances in dire straits and many people counting on him for their livelihoods, he may be forced into a marriage for money and a lifetime of misery without Caro.
Caro & Rufus work together to solve the mystery of the diamond thief because it’s the best way for them to be able to spend time together. When they both face betrothals to others, they must work quickly to find a solution if they stand a chance of being together.
I liked the previous two books of this series a bit better than this one, probably because these two had so many near misses, but that added layer of suspense was nice too. There was plenty of steam, great characters and more plot than you’d expect from the typical regency romp. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this series thus far.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Caroline is running the school and has made all kinds of good changes for the girls to benefit from in their future lives.
She and Rufus become a steamy item but cannot get married.
The missing diamond is still missing but will they be able to find it and get the thieves put away?
Wow! So much happens in this short but funny and full of action story and there are good endings all round to this episode in the girls’ lives.
I have simply loved all the characters in the first six books of this series. Their stories are all amusing, very tongue-in-cheek, sizzling hot and a total delight to read.
This one also goes in the recommended pile.
My voluntary review as above is based on my own thoughts on the story and is unbiased.
