It was only supposed to be one night.
One night of passion.
One night of pleasure.
One night of letting go.
Then two little pink lines changed my life forever.
Brandon Jeffers is cocky, crass, and sexy as hell. In short, he’s everything I don’t want in a man. As the power hitter for the Washington Rampage, Brandon is used to scoring every chance he can get – on and off the field. There’s … want in a man. As the power hitter for the Washington Rampage, Brandon is used to scoring every chance he can get – on and off the field. There’s no way he can give me and my baby what we need most.
Stability.
Determined to raise this baby on my own, I continue on with my life the best I can. This isn’t anything I can’t handle. I mean, women for centuries have navigated parenthood alone…why should I be any different?
But when the major league star shows up on my doorstep, making promises I know he can’t keep, my defenses go up and my expectations stay low.
Brandon says he can cleanup his act…
I’ll believe it when I see it.
The Cleanup is the second book in the Washington Rampage sports romance series, but can be read as a complete standalone.
I’ve been waiting for Brandon and Livs story and Megan sure delivered! Brandon is the right amount of cheese ball and sexy. He makes you swoon one minute and laugh the next. Liv was the right amount of independent and strong. I sailed through the book cause I was stuck in their world and loving every word of it!!
Brandon Jeffers is a bad boy playboy and Liv has absolutely no time for that in her life. That is until they have one night together which leaves a surprise neither one of them was expecting. Brandon surprises Liv when she tells him she is pregnant. She didn’t think he would want anything to do with the baby let alone with her but he does; he wants them both.
I love Brandon; he is so funny and sweet and I totally don’t see the bad boy in him at all. Liv is a tad bit judgemental, but she grew up with a mom who was not trustworthy so you get why she guards her heart so closely. Brandon is exactly what she needs to loosen up a little. There were so many funny parts in this book with just a little drama. Lots of baseball, lots of great characters and lots of humor.
Liv was really sarcastic, strong-willed and really headstrong. I had to admit I almost thought I was going to hate this book when she finds out she’s pregnant she doesn’t want to tell Brandon and I was not okay with that. So when Lexi butts her nose and tells Ian who then tells Brandon to go back to Liv. I’m like yes. I loved that although Liv wanted to do it on her own she did let Brandon in and let him be with her and prove that he wanted to be in the baby’s life.
Brandon, he made me swoon I loved his character. Although he was a bit of a manwhore he was a nice manwhore! He cared about his friends and family, and when he found out Liv was pregnant he was straight there and trying to prove he wanted to be involved in his baby’s life. I also loved their first official like date it was so cute and romantic, I loved the fact that he got her a carriage like he totally took a guess about it, working at with what she liked and it was just so cute and romantic. I loved their relationship.
Charlie! He was adorable I loved the bond between him and Liv, also when he found out she was pregnant he told her what she needed to her and I loved that. I also loved seeing Ian and Lexi in this book again it was adorable! I hated Jayne and Liv’s mum like I really didn’t understand what they were even about, their actions made no sense but it also made no sense to the characters either which I thought was good.
I really enjoyed this story, it’s characters and the writing!
When I first read about Brandon and Liv in The Off Season, I was hoping Megan Green would tell their story and was excited to discover that The Cleanup would do just that. I loved how the relationship between Brandon and Liv evolved throughout the story and how they brought out qualities in each other that no one else was able to. That Liv was a strong, capable woman who would be able to take care of herself was never in question, but it was nice that she was finally able to trust someone else to lean on them and prove she didn’t have to go it alone. Brandon was able to show that he could think beyond the next game and his next conquest by making Liv a priority. He was no longer the irresponsible party guy. Although some of the obstacles to their relationship were predictable, there were a few twists I didn’t see coming. Overall an enjoyable ride.
I’m a sucker for sport romance and this one was one hell of a read. Who doesn’t love bad boy turning his life around in order to prove his love to the right woman.
I have to admit I didn’t like Brandon all that much in The Off-Season. But he is showing a different side to him and with Liv you can see what lies beneath the entire facade he puts on for everybody else. I love him and how much he’s willing to do for the one’s he loves: »Brandon Jeffers is growing up. And the only thing I can think about that is…It’s about fucking time.«
I’m in love with Liv. I love how funny, smart and sarcastic she is. I loved her relationship with Charlie. And most off all – I loved even though she is seen as a tough person she really is a softy inside.
I’m giving this one 5 »i was born to be yours« kinda stars.

A one night stand that both parties thought was amazing ends up with a not so surprising outcome when Olivia & Brandon forget their contraception . Olivia is terrified after having had no experience of what a good mother should be , Brandon while a player is determined he won’t be the same type of dad his was . This is a sweet , funny journey on two people being brought together by a mistake that will change their lives if they let it .
I really liked this book. I enjoyed these two characters when they were introduced in The Off Season; they were great secondary characters, and I’m really happy that carried over into their story, too. Liv and Brandon meet, have a one night stand (that neither of them can forget about), then a baby on the way. I loved watching Brandon “woo” Liv. He was definitely determined to not let her get past him. I’m a sucker for a swoonworthy, reformed manwhore, and this story delivered. Liv has her moments that you just want to throttle her, but she turned that around throughout the story for me.
Another hit out of the park for Megan Green, and I want more!!
I’m not sure where to start, I mean I could not wait to dive back into some WA Rampage! These boys and their ladies are just off the chart. Their chemistry is so good in all the ways.
Liv, is just so out of her element when it comes to a lot of things. She puts up a hard exterior but really she’s just scared. Scared of being left behind or forgotten by the people closest to her. I loved getting to see into her world more from how she was in Lexie and Ian’s story.
And Brandon, well he is such a manwhore but you can just tell he wants way kore then what his past has shown when it comes to “Tink”. I love how honest and open he tries to be with her.
“We never know what life has planned for us, curveballs coming when you least expect them”.
A one night stand can lead to the biggest regret of your life but for Brandon & Live it leads to the biggest gift of their life’s.
With their pasts haunting them Brandon & Liv want to better themselves so that they do not turn out like the people in their past.
This book was everything and so much more. It’s the best example of life itself. The author has made this book so real that you would think that it is someone telling their life story and not just a fiction of the author’s imagination.
I don’t know how ells to explain this book except for WOW!!!
4 1/2 out of 5 stars
This story is the 2nd in a series of standalones about the Washington Rampage baseball team. We met both Brandon and Liv in the first book, but their story definitely deserved its own book!!!
Brandon is the bad boy of the team…a different girl every night, no cares off the field, and everything just the way he wants it…UNTIL he meets Liv and can’t get her out of his head.
Liv has her own history, but she doesn’t share that with anyone, not even Charlie her adopted father. She works at the bookstore to keep herself busy and enjoys her nights with her bestie Lexi. The night with Brandon is the first time in forever that she’s even enjoyed the company of a man and she doesn’t plan to repeat that mistake any time soon.
Liv finds herself pregnant and ready to do it all herself. Brandon won’t let that happen. I so loved watching Brandon become a new man and really dedicate himself to Liv. This story really captured a piece of my heart and I only wish there were more pages!
*** I voluntarily read a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ***
The Cleanup is book two in this series and is Brandon and Liv’s story. I loved this. I loved Brandon and Liv. They were great together. I loved their chemistry and banter. This was a great read!
I have never read Megan before and now I’m not sure why!! This book did take me a little longer to read however, I think it was because I had accidentally read book two before this one so, I knew some of what happened with Lexi Barnes and Ian “Tag” Taggart. Other than that I did really like this book.
Lexi has just moved to a small town in the middle of nowhere to overcome her demons. She was once a very easy going, loving and full of life girl until that all changed with one choice. Will she be able to overcome these demons to get back to the girl she was or will she continue to punish herself for it?
Tag is the shortstop of the Washington Rampage and is also trying to overcome a blow to his career since he was accused of something he didn’t do. When it is suggested that he take himself out of the spotlight during the off-season he decides the best place to do that is at is best friend Brandon’s “B” lake house in the middle of nowhere.
What will happen when two people that are running from the past come together? Will they be able to overcome their struggles or will their struggles be to much for them to have a life together?
The story line of this book was very well written and many of the aspects where also things that could truly happen to anyone. Which in turn made the struggles that the characters went through very real to everyone.
The Cleanup was easy to read,it could be read as a stand-alone but I suggest you to read Ian and Lexi’s story too.
I liked to be back to Maple Lake and to see again the characters I’ve meet in the previous book in the Washington Rampage series.
Liv choices could be egotistical at times but I can understand her hesitancy with a youth like hers.Brandon has to show Liv she is the only woman in his life in order to make her forget about all her fears to be rejected and forgotten.
Could they make everything work out for their child?I don’t have doubts that with their friends help they can find their way towards happiness.
I hope there is at least one more book in this series because the author piqued my curiousity with other characters’ stories.
What a fun book! The one-night stand turns baby in the oven is classic, but this was better.
My first read by Ms. Green and I’ll be going back for more! Love the addition of some sports thrown in there. The playing hard to get, and trying so hard to get her, that it gets a bit funny. But, what can you do when a baby is involved! Read and find out. Loved it.
