The final installment…deeper the feelings deeper the expectations. My favorite series from Hawkins, and I’ve read all her books. Steamy in the best places, bonus content is perfection, and loved spending my weekend reading this trilogy. HEA.
Love this authors writing! I read this as individual books a few years ago and I was totally delighted to see it had had a revamp and new content. Love triangles are just the greatest when you want your morale compass tested. Whilst I don’t condone cheating I love reading about it and this author is amazing for putting you through the emotional wringer.
Its hot, steamy, full of heartbreak, angst and a happily ever after for someone!
“I came here for you, Olivia Germaine. I warned you I could be persistent.”
Ohlawwd did he ever!
A new Re release boxset from the Queen of angst, Jessica Hawkins brings you David Dylan and Olivia Germaine.
A whirwind of romance that give angst and steamy another level, this boxset is a must read.
Hold a trigger for some readers, The Cityscape Affair series have cheating as the main ingridient. So beware before you step in.
Meet Olivia Germaine. Happily married, perfectly contempt, cool, confident, have successful career, a husband who love her and friends. Her life is perfect. Or so she say to her self and to anyone who ask her.
Until one night her eyes lock with this stunning beautiful man across the room.
David Dylan is beautiful. If that word apply for a man, it’s for him. Sexy, ruggedly handsome, a god really amongst the men for all the women, successful and single. But beyond that, he’s this sweet, caring, protective, intens, persistent, and devoted. One thing that only handful people know about him? He long for “the one”
But what if that one he been looking for come in the form of a beautiful green eyes married woman across the room?
Begin the whirwind of forbidden romance with heavy angst.
Told from Olivia’s POV, we can see her turmoil emotion. Her fear, her trauma, her scar, her need… It’s unapologeticly realistic.
Olivia feelings are something I, or maybe most women, can relate.
How she settle for normalcy cause that’s how she think is the way to protect her self after her childhood trauma.
How her fear and insecurity hit her again and again.
How she try to put everyone happiness above her own
How she compromises in her marriage cause that what is expect of her
How finally she pursuit her own happiness by being selfish
I’m amaze of how Jessica Hawkins write her angst. She’s the first author I would read about cheating and love her every word. Not an easy subject. As a matter of fact, I believe it’s a taboo subject for the main character to have cheating in romance books, but I applause the author bravery and her way to write it.
She didn’t judge. She didn’t dish the side characters. She didn’t put the main characters in pedestal and make that cheating so glamour. Her writing is realistic. Her characters aren’t flawless. But their love are perfect.
Olivia and David’s love is something we all search in real life.
“For, you see, each day I love you more, today more than yesterday and less than tomorrow.”
This series is intens, definitly sexy, heavy dose in angst, excellent writing, great characters, a perfect five star must read.
A few years ago, this series was my first foray into a forbidden type of read where there is an affair involved where one person is already married. I went into it with a bit of trepidation, but found myself hooked and addicted immediately. I loved the writing, conflict and complexity. Olivia had a good marriage to Bill, even if he wasn’t truly meeting her needs or listening to her in all the ways that mattered. If anything, Olivia simply acquiesced to avoid making waves and he truly tried to make her happy, but the vibe between them was lackluster at best. Then David Dylan enters the scene and pretty much forces Olivia to take a hard look at herself and her life and examine what she wants for herself and her future. It would seem rather unappealing that man would make an obvious play for a married woman, but this is David Dylan. He is a private man who has not found a woman he wants to settle down with yet, so he comes off as a playboy with little regard to commitment. But when it comes to Olivia, David will break all of his and her rules to make their relationship happen. And it was a journey filled with sexual tension, angst, explosive chemistry and heartbreak. I enjoyed every minute of it because even with the bliss they eventually found with each other after a hard won battle, there would still be collateral damage and pieces to pick up. I liked Olivia, I understood her issues and hangups so I didn’t judge her for her waffling or behavior. But David Dylan is where I kept my attention to because I loved him and how fierce and protective he was, how he compromised his morals for Olivia and then he put her first and foremost. If you’re looking for a series to get lost in, where the the forbidden of cheating in a marriage appeals to you for an escape read that will wring out all of the emotions, then look no further. Ever since I’ve read this, I’ve become a devoted Jessica Hawkins fan all the way.
Cityscape Affair Trilogy by Jessica Hawkins filled with five-star reads that will give you everything.
Come Undone – What a start to a great story, this is so hot it will burn your fingers clean off. Honestly this was so sublime I cant put the words in, this is such a great story that as you read Jessica Hawkins words paint such a detailed picture in your mind, you can taste the anticipation in your moth and feel your heart beating so fast it may explode you across the room you see eyes meet, it’s a visceral reaction to the words on the page as they are so well put together, and simply so hot!!
Come Alive – picking this up was like picking up an old love affair, it warmed me and made me feel amazing. When we follow Olivia in her journey, she will show you her strength, but also her vulnerability as we all have that one who we can never move past. This makes you question things you have thought in the past, question how you would face the grief and loss, put yourself in Olivia’s shoes and understand her and what makes her tick. What a compelling second story, where some may loss their way a little, Jessica Hawkins shows us her talent in making the story flow and just make you so eager for number three, this just feels like an extension of the first story rather than a second instalment.
Come Together- words can not express how sublime this ending is to the series, how has it taken me so long to finish this series, goodness gracious I just cant put the words on the page, I may be broken and my life may be stuck in this story forever, its that amazing. What a great series, you need to grab the essentials and sink your teeth into this and forget the world, what a compelling trilogy that will suck you so deeply you may never get out.
This entire series was so good and very realistic. This was the first series I had read from this author. I have gone onto read EVERYTHING she has written.

This is my second time reading this series. I really liked this series when I originally read it years ago, but I absolutely loved it this time. The update of the series was on point. I felt instantly pulled into this world and I could not stop reading until it’s conclusion. If you’ve ever read this author you know she’s know for her sizzle, steam and angst and she does not disappoint with this series.
