This book will completely consume you.
…unlike anything I have read, unique and full of suspense.
This book, will make stop and think, wait! Oh.. must read!!,
Wow! It’s really all I can say about this story. This was a thrill ride that left me feeling kind of speechless upon completion. This book held me in its grip and didn’t let go.
This paranormal story grabbed my attention from the beginning when a unique character approaches romance writer Madison Shaw during a book signing. This strange man poses as a blogger, Mr. Smith and has an interview with Madison after her signing. The interview takes a strange turn when Mr. Smith warns her of danger. Soon Madison is forced to leave her old life behind and becomes part of a different world. An imaginative tale- unique and fast paced so skillfully written I felt as if I was part of the story. The ending (although not a cliffhanger) left me looking forward to reading more about Madison and Mr. Smith and the monsters they have to face!
This is the 1st book from this author that I have read. And WoW! I was sucked in right from the very start! Madison living life and all the sudden life as she knows it is gone. In its place is a whole new world where things that go bump in the night are very real. And she has powers she never knew she had. I can’t wait to see what’s next for Madison!
What’s a woman to do when her destiny is finally being called in?
For Madison Shaw life as an author is finally starting to take off and gather a fan base. She’s been traveling more and more for signings, doing more interviews than she can count, and has seen more of the world than any normal person. However, one trip to New York changes Madison’s life in a way that no normal human being could’ve seen coming.
When Mr. Smith informs Madison that she’s in danger and should contact him when her “itch” starts to burn, she writes him off as crazy. But Madison soon finds herself feeling like Alice falling down the rabbit hole.
Soon Madison is learning about those things that go bump in the night are real and to protect herself and her family she must fake her death and stay with Mr. Smith and his group of monster fighters.
This book doesn’t end in love and it definitely doesn’t end with a HEA. It does end of a cliffhanger and hanging on to the hope that we soon get to see more about Madison and Mr. Smith, especially since Madison has had a new hiccup in her new life (no spoilers here 😉 ) and leaves the reader questioning if The Order will finally be able to get their answers about some of these monsters they hunt.
Mr. Smith enters Madison’s life and tells her she’s in danger. Now Madison is on the run from those who want to kill her. She discovers that paranormal monsters don’t just exist in books, but reality as well. Mr. Smith must help her survive so she can discover her destiny.
I’ve never read Ms. Martin before (no relation). I absolutely love story tellers. This is one of those books you cant put down. I had to force myself to so I could get some work done haha. Keeps you moving with the story which I also love and its got the supernatural element and very cool story. I enjoyed the characters although Madison and Spencer are kinda at odds at first and there’s no “romance” but there could be potentially at some point. This doesnt end on a cliffhanger but its complete for now which seems to me there is going to be more.
A fun paranormal thriller. I enjoyed the story with an ongoing battle between blood seekers and The Order/night stalkers to help protect innocents.
Hmmmm…this story intrigued me. I had no real idea where it was going to go, yet I followed along quite willingly. I like the world that they inhabit, it’s our world but with slight kinks in it…just wait for the things they stopped – it really made me chuckle! I loved the different take on vampires, a nice change on how they tend to be portrayed and rather ugh, not nice. The thing I want to talk about is a huge spoiler. So all I can say is I’d really like to know how this carries on…
She was having a normal life until. He appears and her life is turned upside down. She will learn that the things she thought were not real are really real. He will show her the way to go. What else will she find out? Follow her adventures

This is an action-packed, suspenseful, well-written (!!) start to the series. It was a phenomenal read! I love romance and paranormal and action and this has everything all jumbled up and tied together with a nice, beat bow. Definitely recommend it.
Ms. Martin always sucks me in, regardless of whether I am generally drawn to the genre or not. Paranormal is one I generally avoid, but I cannot recommend this one any higher. As with any of her books, the world building is impeccable. This one is infused with a wickedly wonderful touch of humor that made it a joy to read and impossible to put down. My highest recommendations.
When Madison Shaw a romance author goes on her book signing her life as she’s known it will no longer exist after Mr. Smith shows up.Mr. Smith tries to warn Madison about creatures that are not of her world. Do they exist or as Madison belives only in books. I recommend reading this author’s books you will not be disappointed
Incredibly suspenseful and engrossing. This book has great characters that I feel connected with. This author is very good and so this book is incredibly well-written. I am not usually a vampire reader person, but this book is really good and I am hooked.

Madison Shaw, a New York Times best-selling romance author, meets a mysterious man when she’s promoting her latest book. He doesn’t appear to be a fan, and when he interviews her like a book blogger, the questions he asks mostly aren’t about the book. He ends with asking her some rather bizarre questions that are intensely personal but meaningful to her. He wants her to come with him for her protection, but she refuses, so he gives her his card and asks her to call if she needs him. Soon, Madison is wrapped up in a paranormal world she had no clue existed beyond the fantasy of books and movies.
What a ride this book is! The author has such a masterfully fluid writing style that she pulled me right in, even though I’m not the greatest fan of first-person perspective writing. The voice of Madison is right on target, wholly unique and seems to belong to a three-dimensional person. Mr. Smith is mysterious, though he is an apt guide through the world that Madison will soon be going through.
If you enjoy paranormal NON romance that’s a bit of a thriller with surprising twists and turns and characters that feel wholly real in an unreal world, you might enjoy this fantastic read.
Intriguing new take on Vampires and the Chronicler portion is a fascinating twist. I will definitely be looking for book 2. There was a definite “oh no” moment, surely that isn’t happening. Then how it transpires from there, kudos. It opens up a realm of possibilites. Fantastic journey. Thank you Angie Martin and Booksprout. All thoughts and opinions are my own and we’re unsolicited.
I love have enjoyed other books by this author and was pulled right into this book. We have an author that is thrust into a paranormal world and did an awesome job. She was detailed but not overly, she was creative but it was in a way that could be very real and she wrote some awesome characters that you can’t help but like. Add in some great action and suspense this book was able to keep me on my toes. I’m going to post a little spoiler…. it might not even be one but I loved the whole Dream sharing. It was different and just totally brought the reading experience to a different level. I’m not a fan of vampires but this tale wasn’t all that bad for me. This isn’t my first book by this author, but it also won’t be my last. I look forward to reading more about Madison Shaw. 4 stars #2OCCJD
Madison was in New York for a few days and not happy about it. Her best friend and publisher was with her. While signing books she met Mr Smith and had no idea her life was about to change. Realizing there were real boogeymen out there scared her but not as bad as what was to come next., This is such a great book I found it hard to put down Finding MaD had a new family and she had a new job made her feel more alive and at peace even while missing her real family
This is such a fantastic read! The blood seeker ‘lore’ is original and brilliantly written. The characters are easy to connect to, and the storyline weaves beautifully through bends, twists and turns. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more in this series!
The Chronicler and Mr. Smith by Angie Martin is a wonderful story that I read. This is book number one in the series and a wonderful start to a brand new series. I loved reading this story and I highly recommend it.
