Spending the holidays at the inn
by MoonGarden
I love holiday romances. The snow, the fireplace, that feeling of wonder and anticipation.
Molly is sweet and hardworking, Zach is kind and goal oriented, Penelope is… a disaster. She is so super horrible that it almost makes the reader how Zach was EVER interested enough to start a relationship in the first place.
Don’t worry, it all gets worked out in the end. The whole thing wrapped up a bit faster than I like, but it was still an enjoyable book.

The Christmas Tree Inn – Another delightful story from an author that writes clean, sweet and interesting stories that have a good journey to romance between two good characters. The support characters are good in their roles, too. The emotions are good and there is a touch of humor. The descriptions of the characters and the locations and the events made the reader a fly on the wall. The ending seemed a bit rushed since there was maybe too much unrealistic fear throughout the pages for the way the book ended. I liked all the books I read by Ms. Jarvis. I found this author and this book on Booksprout. 4*
The Christmas Castle #4 – This is my first read by this author and I enjoyed it. Well written and interesting, this quickly read story is easy to get lost in. All the characters are likable, realistic and enjoyable. The couple is perfect for each other and their best friends are a good choice, too. The storylines are good. I giggled in a couple of places where the Scots spoke American, but overall this is a delightful story. I’m glad to have discovered Ms. Jarvis. There’s an overview, which I appreciate knowing what a book is about before I read it. I found this book on Booksprout. 4*
The Beach House #5 – There is a lot of good humor throughout this book and I loved the reference to The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, one of my favorite movies. Well written, interesting storylines and good characters with good dialog, and no stupidity formulas, makes this quickly read story hard to put down. There is actually not a lot of overboard drama when problems raise their ugly heads. There are misunderstandings but mature behavior, which help make this book a delight to read. The author does a great job with her descriptions. There is an overview, which I appreciate knowing what a book is about before I read it. I contacted the author to review her books and received this book through Booksprout. 4*
Part of the A Holiday House Novel series a well written Christmas story that had me smiling at somethings. I enjoyed reading Zach Moreton and Molly Foster’s story and seeing how they get their happy ending. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Molly Foster temporarily gave up her college plans to run the family inn with her mom. They also own the Christmas tree farm next door. She worked on her degree online, however, and wants to one day get a job in the city to have access to the wonderful museums. While looking for scissors, she pops up in front of a handsome, stunning man about to check in — Zachary Moreton – and her life was about to change. Zach makes Molly catch her breath, but a romance would not happen since Zach is there with his uppity girlfriend who found fault with everything!
Unknown to Molly, Zach is a very successful New York real estate agent who had grown up on a farm and then made all of his goals come true. Now he is trying to break up with his girlfriend who had been a big mistake, but the timing to break up had never seemed to work out, with accidents where he needed to be there for her and holidays which were a cruel time to leave. Penelope surprises him with a trip to the Christmas Tree Inn where they can ski and maybe have fun. But their first day out, she falls into a fountain at the ski resort, flounders out of the water, and falls as she tries to stomp out in an angry huff. Zach does what he can for her, but he finds his thoughts going to the kind-hearted innkeeper, Molly. Will he find a way to gently break it off with the entitled Penelope? Is there a chance to begin a relationship with the woman he could sincerely fall in love with?
This is probably my most favorite cozy story ever! The book is full of humor and friendship, and sincere, loving people who fill the reader’s heart with good emotions. This alone makes the contrast to Penelope’s selfish self-adoration stand boldly out and makes the reader wonder what the kind-hearted Zach ever saw in her. His caring nature is the only reason they stayed together past one day, because he never wanted to hurt her. The story line was sweet, sincere, and heart-melting. My favorite character, along with Zach and Molly, was Molly’s best friend, Dakota, who kept me laughing every time she opened her mouth! What a wonderful person! We all need a friend like that! Don’t miss reading this wonderful story. It will stay with you long after the Christmas season ends.
A lovely holiday read.
A splendid Christmas story with all the best the season has to offer. There is a cozy inn in snow country, characters preparing for the holidays and come on with the name Christmas Tree Inn what’s not to love. In truth, it is a little early for me to be reading Christmas themed books so I read this book rather quickly but it is one I will return to this holiday season. The author has given the reader a charming romance with all the magic of Christmas you will love it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it. This is a nice, clean romance with what I consider a HFN ending. The two main characters spent more time apart mooning over each other than they did together, so as a couple, I never could grow an attachment to them. I liked them, but didn’t fall in love with the characters. We actually saw Will and Liz developing more as a couple who were support characters.
Written as a first person, multi pov with HFN ending.
Good story concept, just needs tightened up a bit. Nice characters, detail descriptions were done nicely, all in all, a nice read.

This was my first time reading a story from J.L. Jarvis and it’s a great Christmas story! Zach and Molly are hot and steamy with a chemistry that’s off the charts. It’s a well written story with lots of steamy romance, heartbreak, misunderstandings and humor. It’s a definite must read for anytime of the year so grab your copy to see if Zach ad Molly get their HEA!
